I do love the qualios but...are these out of phase? Just not getting a central image its all towards the outside.? My headphones check out ok. Or am I going nuts?
I don't think I made a mistake. It's just all the tracks are very spacious and they do fill the room with the dipole speakers creating a wall of sound :)
Bass would be non-existent if out of phase, unless it’s just the mid/tweeter (which have separate connections on these speakers). Could be just extreme spaciousness in the recording, but I do agree there’s a lack of solid center image.
IMHO, one has a decent system if it encourages one to listen to hitherto unknown music all the way through that one would have formerly quickly skipped over. I found this applied to all but one of the tracks you played (the Bria Skonberg one, which I already have and like). But I listened to all of them completely and could appreciate the artistry, if not always resonating with a particular track. I listened (through Quad S2's) on my secondary nearfield system as it happened, and was able to make a direct comparison with the Bria Skonberg track on my PC. This highlighted for me how well you've recorded these samples, even played over TH-cam. I still don't know how the Qualios would sound at home of course, but I have a pair of DIY open baffles in my primary system and suspect they're in a similar ballpark except perhaps for bass extension -- if one must, one could always add a decent subwoofer. I've no doubt the Qualio Ultras are fantastic speakers at a very fair price thanks to the direct selling model. But alas, they're still 4.5 times the price of my DIY Decware ZF15M clones. If I had money to burn I'd buy them in a heartbeat. But to anyone who like me doesn't, they might like to consider buying the licence + plans to build for $30 from Decware. If one can get a professional (for an additional c.£150) to cut the 40mm solid oak baffles, they're particularly easy to build in a matter of hours, with no soldering required since they use a 15" full range driver. Hope you don't mind my mentioning this for us wannabe Qualio Ultra owners.
If you tap on the word "more" (where it says "4.1k views 2mo ago ... more") and then scroll down you will see on the left "MUSIC 6 songs" below which there are the album covers. If you tap on each of those album covers you can hear the song NOT coming from the Qualio Ultras. To me those songs coming from the Ultras sound much more open and spacious. Instruments are more separated from each other. I much prefer what I hear from the Ultras. And listening with my HFiMan headphones I don't have any problems hearing defined center vocal imaging in the first track.😊
Pozdrawiam.
hello. You use an equalizer to reinforce the highs. right? It's just that this song doesn't have that many high notes. for example, on track 3 it is difficult to hear the drum cymbals if you don't use the equalizer.
Excellent sound presentation from this system. The Qualio Ultras being the star for sure. The only track I truly consider demo worthy is the last one, Holy Ground. You have much better demo worthy tracks in your Tidal Playlist. Thanks for your excellent work.
what's that BIG Unit with a Mesh front and Glass top on the right side ???. (could it be the Casing of your Amp ?!) best of luck with your Project. i hope-to-see the QUALIO Amp in the near future.
well it's a streamer case :) I am going to upgrademy PC and get some Uber PC components and upgrade upsampling capabilities . But I'm waiting for the Geforce 5090 to premiere later on this year :)
The first batch is in production now. Since I'm going totally bananas with the top ones they require some time to figure out the power supply ;) Nevertheless I plan to release them at the beginning of November ;)
@@VirtualHiFi Thank you for the update! It's great to hear the first batch is in production. I'm really excited to see how the top ones turn out. Will you be attending the Audio Video Show with these op-amps?
I quickly switch with or without JJ 12AT7 preamps in my hybrid integrated and the difference is very noticeable. In the first track it is even too spatial. I think that such clarity in the highs will soon cause FATIGUE. Mundorf AMT tweeter + VH Class D is excessive
Yes the first track is very very spatial itself ;) The system is getting balanced more and more every day. I am wiating for my Brute Force 2 Opamps to be ready and they will add plenty of body to the sound. Also new switch is coming and few more upgrades down the road as well ;)
It makes sense to me that you are using the t a dac 200 to display a high quality video of your speakers. Maybe what it doesnt make sense is, why you didnt use the laiv dac that you liked more vs the ta?
I like both of them and they both have their strong points. At the moment the benefit of wider soundstage and more detail from T+A match the system better. Bit that is only with the T+a in DSD since with PCM I prefer Laiv more ;)
Hi, I'll record a video on that is few months. At the moment I am using Ryzen 3900x with GeForce 3080 and 64g Ram 3200 that allows me to go for 512 with some advances filter. Will go for new PC with Ryzen 9950 once the GeForce 5090 is out to be able to go for DSD1024 with any filters I desire and I'll do a thorough video on that ;) 😉
I would appreciate if you could make video comparing the normal version with ultra. I would like to have a reason why i would pay 3000€ extra and it should in sound
Sam nie slucham metalu oprócz kilku kawalków np System of Down Toxicity.

Beautiful numbers played on equally beautiful speakers 😊👏👏 wish we could get these in India.
Witam ! odnalazłem tę playlistę na TIDAL ! proszę o więcej inspiracji ! to brzmi !! ... ciut lepiej niż tutaj na youtubie :-)
Absolutely fantastic as always! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Cheers!
Great Playlist Thx 👏
This channel si an amazing find, I think I am going to get some of the gear you reviewed :D
Unmatchable to my ears. My favourite for sure.

I experienced the same..
I don't think I made a mistake. It's just all the tracks are very spacious and they do fill the room with the dipole speakers creating a wall of sound :)
That's totally normal if you do a unusual super broad AB recording, wich doesn't make any sense to me.
Bass would be non-existent if out of phase, unless it’s just the mid/tweeter (which have separate connections on these speakers).

I agree you have a point there. Usually the recordings are rocksolid (centered), so that must be it.

I searched everywhere in TH-cam for a video posted by an owner of Qualio IQ speakers but couldn’t find any. Do you have customers of these speakers ?

Do you have a vid that compare the ultra to the standard one ?
Appreciate what you are doing.

After I buy the qualios-I hope you will help me figure out how to do the 512 upsampling on a Mac to the Fosi ZD3…

Yes they can :)
Music is too sassy

If you want to show off your speakers, get a turntable.
Will do next year :)
