Fantastic sound clips. It gives us a glimpse of the overall sound signature. I did favor the QUALIO IQ Ultra, but the Acoustics OGY and B.O.B. sounded better in the mid range. If I was purchasing these right now, its a tough decision for sure. I listened again and I would purchase the Acoustics OGY and B.O.B. as I feel they would sound better with rock and electronic music. Better mid range and bottom end on the Acoustic OGY/BOB
I know that these are different style of speakers, but I would love to hear the Borreson X2’s compared to the Qualio IQ Ultras. Both are on my shortlist, and it would be really hard to ever hear these compared with each other. Both are well detailed speakers, and I would love to compare their tonality with each other.
The answer is right there. Play the Qualio plexiglass part with B.O.B. on bass. Now the entire frequency range from top to bottom is open-baffle dipole, and the bass augmentation will also make the Qualio top sound richer and even more forgiving.
Quailo IQ hands down. The OGY/BOB sounded hooded in comparison, like someone's singing through a big cardboard tube or a layer of cheesecloth. Too many audio cues MIA with the OGY/BOB.
Thank you so much for the comparison and for sharing how much you liked both! - Unfortunately, I couldn't find where you said which you liked best... and why? Thank you! Dean
When I started listening I told myself, "this is needing a little analogue infusion", then the Ogy/BOB came in and made it so much better, for my taste. In room experience is most likely a whole different experience.
Yes, also lot of fantastic gear is produced there, to mention Lampizator, Ferrum, Khozma, Gigawatt, Staccatto (discrette opamps)…. All high end reasonably priced, well some at least 😂
Hello, Happy holidays…listening to so much stuff has wrecked you…the DeVille has been your best looking speaker and has sound the best….and made in the USA…also the Pass Labs gear has been your best gear…I recently went with Volti Audio hand made in Baxter Tennessee…they will blow you away….
First off, the Closer Acoustics speakers sound softer than the Qualio speakers in the tremble and, the Closer Acoustics speakers just don't have the amazing sparkle and sheen in the tremble that the Qualio speakers have, either. Both have nice mids and bass. For my taste, it's the Qualio IQ speakers all the way, and it's not even close!!!
I know that your room is 13‘ x 18‘, but where did you find the best position for each of these speakers? Distance from front wall, distance from side wall and distance between speakers?
I really like your music choices. I just added them to my music favorites. Thanks! About the speakers, my choice is the Qualio IQ Ultra. I really got emotional listening to "Ache for". I didn't get the same reaction when listening to the same song with the OGY. Felt too boomy and less detail in the voice.
You can increase the low mids a bit more in the IQ. You getting too much cancellation what makes a speaker sound like they do but needs a bit of tweaking. You could achieve this by getting some card and attaching it on the sides of the perspex edges, just up to the bottom of the tweeter in height, the inner strip of cards about five inches in depth and the outside of the perspic strip two and a half inches, if you get it right you can actually expand the depth even more but try that card corrugated card might be better. bringing them in a bit might be beneficial that will increase mid-range bass and upper frequencies you want to aim for the 83% rule between speaker apart and you're sitting position. Best speaker isolation platform and turntable you could make one but it's to buy Audite Acoustics Brij Nedsn 2 about $600
Why the Ogy and Bob’s bass sounded so boomy in your room, seems your room has standing wave problem, Qualio sonded very nice, but the bass seemed lacking to my tast.
Spontaneously I thought whether the mid-high unit of the Qualio loudspeakers could be built onto the basses of Closer Acoustics ;-) Both great speakers, now put a model from Cube audio next to them...
I’m suspecting the IQ’s open baffle medium to be a little too much efficient in the high medium. I think the Qualios Quantum could be more reasonable. Whishing you can test those soon .
I’m hoping you will one day you will review the Linkwitz LX521.4 Dipole Loudspeaker. I am thinking that this speaker is a compromise of the strength of these two wonderful quasi open baffle designed speakers. My leaning against the sound demos is the Qualico IQ ultra…I just can’t get enough of the holographic sound presentation.
I presently own similarly configured hybrid speakers (Acarian Systems Alon ll's) and love them 🥰👌. I'm wondering how these two speakers you've reviewed compare 🤔. I also wonder how the newer Carl Marchisotto designed Nola Champs and Linkwitz compare ....... How about a shoot out 😋
I can never understand why a reviewer wants us to hear equipment that has been reduced to TH-cam compression. Comments by viewers saying what they hear are truly priceless. They are only commenting on their laptop speakers!
I listen with planar headphones powered by a professional DAC....the differences are very clear even if they are compressed. It's not soundstage, but it's still better than nothing.
@@mariancol2428 Projection and self-delusion create a stage for you to be impressionable--without objectivity. I mean that in the kindest way, so please don't shoot the piano player.
No, I'm saying TH-cam cannot give you an accurate representation to allow your appraisal. Thus, you cannot judge anything based on a TH-cam file format returned to you via a laptop's speakers or anything else. Common sense.
On my phone I like the overall sound of the ogy & B.O.B. better. I really like detail and a big deep & wide Soundstage too. I think that it is easy to be pulled into the detail but not as easy to get the quality of sound that the OGY & B.O.B. bring to the listening experience.
👍🌟🌟🌟🌟 I love sound demos. I think for a fair demo, you could have only use one of bases drivers on ogy speakers. On detail the Qualio is my favorite . The ogy plays with more autority because of two bass drivers. Qualio with 2 subs Will play beautifully. Qualio as very detailed speaker is fantastic to gear demos!
I just love the Qualio's Ultra. I can't wait to buy a pair. The are so beautiful, love them.
Thank you for your effort and time spent on those videos. Yet another amazing one🎉
Interesting thing is that both brands are from Poland 🇵🇱👏🏻
The closer driver units are made in france …😅
And mundorf AMT from Germany

I think BOB has better bass from double unit and open baffle. Not quantity but quality….
Best demo ive heard accepting audio restrictions of u tube.
You now HAVE to get a Pure Audio Project speaker.... also a Spatial Audio. Curious about open baffles speakers now!
Very interesting comparison. I see where the qualio has more treble clarity, however I prefer the tonality of the ogy.

Emotionally more connected to the OGYs.

I like the ogy and B.O.B the Qualio is too analytics!
From what I can hear, the Ogy setup sounds smoother and fuller in the mids. The Qualio seems more detailed up top. Ogy is more to my taste
Thanks for doing this! What gear were you using for this showdown?

Another transmission line speaker to listen to is Kerr Acoustics from the UK
QUALIO IQ Ultra by far
Great review as always. Which is your favorite and why? Thx.
Qualio to my opinion.I’m listening on Usher dancer mini one, krell FPB300,SCHIIT freya,Pontus ll ,primare NP5
Favorite speakers of all time
Have you tried them with Pass labs amps?
Interesting that both come from Poland.

Also Felix, IIRC.
and Fezz
I tell you what the Qualio is so clear and open the reverb tails sound natural and real the sound stage alone is insane great vid

The IQ is much more open. But ultimately, you'll need to listen at home to ascertain which is best for your setup.
The Ogys sound darker and fuller, but less detailed and holographic

If you wanted to build a system for a small apartment what would it be
For the youtube audio that I'm sure does not make justice to any of them the Oggy seems more in control with a tigh bass.
. QUALIO IQ Ultra $7,528 pair
Closer Acoustics OGY and B.O.B $7,489 pair
Acid Jazz, Funk & Brass 🔈🔉🔊
What happened to the turntable.
Yeah but how would Judas Priest sound, playing Blood Red Skies?
@@stevieg2755 also recomendig Joe Satriani, because recordings matters , the rest are peanuts
Hi. I have a bel canto aci 600 running into legacy whisper open baffle speakers and B&w 804 d3. I’m going to be watching out for the iq ultras. Thanks
The Ogy's have more presence in the lower midrange ,midbass region .
Is that true in real life listening?
The qualio is doing sounstaging cues better🎉
What music is being played. I saw the first wasa Moby track but must have missed the other two.
you are most welcome !!!!!!!!!!!!. ya khara.
TOTALLY different sounding. think I like the OGY more.
Qualio way too thin for my taste, overly extended air like I was sitting in a big cave.
CA has the right extension, but the bass muddies everything.
My favorite loudspeaker is Franco Serblin Ktêma
I listened to a youtube of these Franco Serblin Ktêma truly astounding quality !
thanks huffie
Which is his favourite?
All of them.
Respect their capabilities, they do sound great. I just can’t do it on aesthetics. Purely subjective, but yeah. Nice review though.
i would love to hear - what cables are you using... speaker and interconnect ... thank you.... (like better Ogy and B.O.B)
Speaker cables are here: th-cam.com/video/I0yFQi4b5cE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=apvWiQA8BxGXPq_d

sometimes it's the viewer who demand that
Nice, but in my opinion, they don’t sound as real as horn speakers.
The ogy has far better intergrated male siblance, more organic.
I agree…. that has been my opinion of most AMT tweeter type speakers however.
On my phone I like the overall sound of the ogy & B.O.B. better. I really like detail and a big deep & wide Soundstage too. I think that it is easy to be pulled into the detail but not as easy to get the quality of sound that the OGY & B.O.B. bring to the listening experience.
Prefer the more upfront tonality of the Qualio
Ratchet!!! lol. My favorite speakers are the Talon Audio Firebirds hands down the best speakers I’ve heard under $100k
You need a large room for these, plus open baffle requires a large air purifier, otherwise they collect dust.
No more Klipsch?
I did not like the sound of Closer Accoustics at all. I liked the sound of the Qualio IQ much better!
WTF...they are both Polish companies???
I wish you would’ve included more sound demo alerts.
👍🌟🌟🌟🌟 I love sound demos. I think for a fair demo, you could have only use one of bases drivers on ogy speakers.

❤❤❤💯❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏😍
No a fan of sound demos…I much prefer your commentary.
"Favorite" until the next company pays you to schill their overpriced paper weight. This guy seems to have a new favorite every six months.
The sound of OGY is bad: the sound is colored, and also the voice is not natural with a veil and too much bass. No definition.
Worst demo music ever!
why?
Yeah , , . why ? We ALL know that Steve's sound or ANY TH-cam sound for that matter can't properly translate over TH-cam :-)
