I'm fascinated! I felt like a friend was offering his trade secret to help me out with my project. Much appreciated, thank you. Love the finesse in your hands; you definitely reflect multigenerational craftsman status with what you do. Only persons less connected with their trade would make a short, no hints nor details included, nor reasoning given behind each process version but I appreciate this kind of work as a whole and am always interested in what a seasoned professional has to say as they walk viewers through the processes. Awesome!
I used to repair my own leathers and faux with dyes, polish, etc. I found a way to get the grain pattern back from an experiment. I would fold the pattern over onto itself and put a bunch of books on top of it. it's an artifical grain, but it's pleasing to the eye. I forget what I did to prevent sticking however. It's been years ago
This blew my mind, thankyou sooo much, finally a video that is useful, so sick of seeing idiots trying to fix there items with acrylic paint, and never showing the real deal. Great repair by the way, amazing job, family traits are never wasted when it comes to quality, 😊
Hey, thanks alot. l will try this first thing in the morning. it was stuck somewhere underneath the wardrobe while moving into my new housr. and the sad thing is that it was brand new. l havent even put it on even for once. so yeah, l will take my time and turn this fixing process into some kind of a hobby and hopefully it will be good as new just like the jacket you fixed. Thank you🙏
Thanks very much for the video. I actually have a bonded leather jacket I bought a few years back that's peeling and this video was very helpful. So thanks again for posting this and God bless.
I really like my faux leather jackets and you know what I think this is exactly what I'm going to be purchasing to fix some of the issues and some of the jackets on your own. This is something I have been looking for a while now.
My jacket has the peeling all over just from sitting in my closer for a year or two, idk how not wearing contributed to that. I guess it just breaks down over time on its own...
You are right. Even mine PU leather jacket peeled by itself while it was sitting in my closet. My two jackets have pulled like that. Now I am never going to buy faux leather things.
How do I fix a peeling collar on the jacket? It's peeling at the collar and the faux leather has chipped off already showing the inside! What should I do? Get a patch for it??
hi there !! tnx for the video, i have a question, what do you think about mixing the dye with the filler before applying, so its not totally white ?? tnx !!
Might need to try this. I've got a jacket that I love, but it isn't made anymore, and I haven't been able to find it for sale anywhere. It's got some pretty large patches of missing leather, though.
Did you try this on your jacket with large patches? I found the video because I’m in the same situation. It’s my absolute favorite jacket, and they don’t make it anymore, but it’s got some huge peeling issues.
Sir I am so happy to watch and learn from you. The method you showed is so good The jacket look no new and beautiful fixed . I wanted to find to fix my leather bags but it is in muster colour . 😅😂❤❤❤❤
I am hoping to get some of this stuff to fix my grandfathers faux leather jeacket that has some rub peels on it. Hopefully i can make it look good as new
Well Done. Motorhome manufacturers use budget materials at a premium price. The cushions start peeling after a couple of years and what a mess!. Recovering is very expensive. If you catch the peeling soon, you can prevent/repair it until you save up $3000 - $4,000 to re-upholster.
very cool, one issue though, what if someone doesn't have your dye that doubles as a glue? can i use nail polish? rubber cement? or some basic glue you'd use for paper?
Would this work on a big peeled spot? i have a faux leather jacket with a couple big tear's in it.. i know it probably save me a lot of hassle if i'd js get a new one but its my favorite jacket given to me on Christmas by my mom, i'd really like to salvage it if possible 😅
My favorite purse has peeled leather on the handle, it's a much larger area but I think if I put a patch down and work around it I may be able to repair.
This is exactly what I need for a small peeling section on the collar of my "leather" polyurethane jacket! I don't think I need the filler. What is the product and where do I order?
Does this work for large spots of peeling?? Where it peeled there is no flaps to cover the peeled area 😢 this is one of my fav jackets and I’d love to have it fixed. 😊
i got a really cool jacket from a charity shop which unfortunately has quite a few rips in. hopefully i can use this method to fix it and make it look as good as new :)) thanks
Do you offer a clear version? The reason I ask is I have a very unusual shade of grey jacket that is my favorite. I don't think a flat grey would look right. No finish is missing but it is bubbling up pretty bad.
Ok so I know this is old but I was gifted a faux leather sofa and it’s peeling all over. Idk whether to reupholster it or? What to do? I don’t mind redoing the whole sofa cause it was free and comfortable
I have this really old leather jacket, and the arms and shoulders are peeling so bad that I can’t even wear it anymore without leaving a trail of little leather scraps behind!! It’s a good jacket that I just can’t bear to get rid of! Do you know of any way to fix or repair the peeling parts? It’s mainly the sleeves the rest of it is in perfect condition and as I said before I just couldn’t throw it away. Any ideas or anything? I don’t know what kind of leather it is but the parts that are peeling are very thin.
The problems I see is matching the color. I went to get a dye for a Kate Spade & of course, It was slightly different. I did spread it out, & it does look better than before, but the entire bag would need to be done. This was to correct a dye transfer. Also, If you have peeling, & you do all of this work, it seems to me that very soon the entire jacket is going to be peeling anyway. At least in my case with boots, jackets & purses I've tossed, that was the case.
The thing is my whole jacket is pealing piece by piece. I wish there was something I could put on years ago to prevent this. Also wish it was not expensive or easier to do myself . This is an awesome video but I’m bit un skilled and yea but my jacket It’s almost one of a kind and it’s form I wish I could save it myself I’ll probably pay someone idk . Ugh . lol this was beautiful and very interesting thanks for the knowledge 😊
Is there anything I can do for vinyl coated leggings? (Vinyl coating on polyester). They arrived with the vinyl coating peeling off in big areas and I was hoping to be able to glue them back. I did try but I made a mess of it so not sure of it was the glue or the way I done it. But would really appreciate any help! Thanks so much
I wished I have seen this video earlier. I had threw so many leather items and the pu ones as they peeled and there were no solutions when i asked around..
I don't need "the kit." I just need the bottle of dye (glue). Web site giving me only options for $100+++ kit, which I don't need for a 3" peeling area on my cheap but beloved polyurethane jacket. Please advise. Thx
This looks awesome! Can you explain if this would work on a bubble that hasn't ripped yet? It's just the poly coating that is detached from the backing but no rip or tear yet. The item is some pleather pants and the crotch/butt area (lol) right around the seams has a bubble in the pleather because of all the friction from sitting down. It feels really fragile like it could rip any time now and I've been looking for a way to fix it.
ปีที่แล้ว
A suggestion, even though an old comment, just if anyone else could try it: Use a syringe to put one of these glue like materials into the bubble and then put a weight on it for a while?
Finally someone comes with the commen sense to how exactly fix the leather goods …. Nice video bro keep it up
He has a very relaxing voice, easy to listen to him speak.

Wow! Incredible! I never thought it's possible to repair faux leather. Awesome!😊👍
This jacket’s real leather.
It's bonded leather. It's real leather just a very small layer
This blew my mind, thankyou sooo much, finally a video that is useful, so sick of seeing idiots trying to fix there items with acrylic paint, and never showing the real deal. Great repair by the way, amazing job, family traits are never wasted when it comes to quality, 😊

How do I buy this product please
I do too, but usually once one spot peels, the entire thing is getting ready to peel.
Great video. Please confirm that I can use this with faux leather also. Thank you!
I bought a new receycled leather sofa and its peeling. Thank you!
Great content, very informative. Thanks for giving general info about what you would do in a lot of different circumstances
Thank you for your video it was extremely helpful! Great detail with explanation
My jacket has the peeling all over just from sitting in my closer for a year or two, idk how not wearing contributed to that. I guess it just breaks down over time on its own...
Same has happened to my jacket as well. Leather needs care ;)
Derek Townsley mine too, but i guess wearing it in rain peels it
@@stevee2993 Yup, started peeling after i used it while I was riding bike in rain. I hope to fix it asap
You are right. Even mine PU leather jacket peeled by itself while it was sitting in my closet. My two jackets have pulled like that. Now I am never going to buy faux leather things.
Yeah. Mine too i only used it twice lol. I think mine is due to the preassure on the hanger. I moved it to a drawer
How do I fix a peeling collar on the jacket?
It's peeling at the collar and the faux leather has chipped off already showing the inside!
What should I do? Get a patch for it??
Thank you. Sharing knowledge is a wonderful thing!!!

My jacket is peeled like crazy imma need a lot of dye and filler to repair it lol 😂 I’m prolly better off just getting a new jacket
I only need the dye. Will the dye bleed if you don't apply the sealer on top?
Can you recommend U.K. alternatives?
Does it work on faux or vinyl leather couch and how big of a repair if it’s 8”x 6”

Amazing and awesome

I have a drop dead gorgeous purse that's salmon/flamingo. Too bad the colors can't be matched.

@ that might work as it would seal the layers back together. I've since replaced the pants but in the future I'll remember your suggestion, thanks!
