      There's an odd satisfaction that comes from watching something be restored. When I was a kid, I used to be enamored with wood planers that made old shit wood look brand new.

      +Dom Martyn Just to note, We show the repair of the arm of this chair to simply illustrate the application process of our products and how well they work! Of course, after repairing the arm, it will look different than the rest of the chair as it is still oxidized, dirty, worn and faded. To view the chair completed, we've posted the "before and after" photos of this very chair on our website! www.leathertouchupdye.com/fix-cracking-leather-leather-repair-video/. You are the best, man! Initially, I thought your video was a bit long and boring, but after watching it completely and seeing your other videos, I understood why you filmed it the way you did. Every step is crucial, and patience is required to achieve the perfect results you demonstrate. I actually watched your video a year ago for educational purposes, and it stayed in my mind. Now that I need to repair chairs, the first thing I did was watch your video again, and once more, I was amazed. Have a great day and much success.

    Good video. While it may be a bit long and dull at times, I actually appreciated the fact that you didn't "cut away" during most of the processes... showing exactly what was involved and proving that the product worked as you claimed during application. This is the way product videos should be created. Well done!!

It looks bad and I was ready to just give it away until I found your videos! I thought it would be too difficult to repair myself, but after watching you I ordered the dye and repair kits. You make it look sooooo easy, and actually it is! I started working on my couch last night and I am amazed at how easy it is to apply the filler! Today I will apply the dye. So far I am so happy! The arm actually matched BEFORE we repaired it because it too was also worn, soiled, oxidized and faded! We only repair the arm of this chair in this video to simply illustrate the application and results you can get with our leather repair products and to keep the video length reasonable. The completed chair now looks like new and the before and after photos can be viewed here: www.leathertouchupdye.com/fix-cracking-leather-leather-repair-video/. Thank you for your comment!

    I don't understand how that white cream filler can make cracks in a beige sofa disappear. Amazing.

    • @M3g4t0n
      @M3g4t0n 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It doesn't. The white filler just fills the cracks. He uses various other products to match the couch's colour pallet. Perhaps if you watch the whole video, you too would have noticed it.

      I can imagine it becoming rubbery after it dries, otherwise its not logical. There is such materials that are creamy in an alcoholic solution, and when they dry they go back to polymerised plastic/rubber and stick to the material surrounded by it as if you melted a candle on leather. this is only my theory, if this thing is true.

      @Leathertouchupdye  9 ปีที่แล้ว +77

      +Venkman83 Hello, we would like to think of it as " which now leaves with a solution to your problem " - meaning - you now have the ability to make the leather look like new again. If you are seeing the age and soil of the other panels - SIMPLY clean the rest of the chair -let dry- wipe a few coats of dye into the WHOLE CHAIR so everything looks, feels and lasts like NEW again. - this is what most customers do when they feel comfortable with the performance and application of our leather repair kits. This video was created to show you what you can do with our leather repair kits in your own home - we chose the worst area of the chair - to make it look like new again. Refinishing the rest of the chair is a piece of cake. - so to speak. Thank you for taking the time to comment and for choosing www.LeatherTouchupDye.com !

      That sounds like bonded leather that only has a wafer thin layer of actual leather on top of synthetic materials. It is probably beyond repair but if you have been sold it as actual leather that's a bit naughty.

    • @Jones4Leather
      @Jones4Leather 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kristina Winter
      Peeling is actually a plastic imitation leather layer on the top delaminating from the adhesive holding it to weak leather on the back. These are bonded or bicast "leather" materials, very shoddy compared to a real hide (top grain or full grain). Peeling is spontaneous self-destruction that can't be prevented, repaired or stopped. Demand your money back, even if out of warranty - it is legal fraud to call this leather of any kind.

    • @personalcheeses8073
      @personalcheeses8073 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jones4Leather I don't have a problem with an item it's the person who posted the original comment. I think both our diagnosis are correct as there are many different forms of rip off, imitation leather.

    • @lantznewberry3296
      @lantznewberry3296 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the couch has nothing but tiny crack I would get one of those yellow rectangle plastic spreaders and lightly skim the filler across the whole couch. One coat followed by a very light sanding would probably work. He used very little filler to repair that arm. Depending on the size of your couch I would guess 1 to 2 jars of filler.
