from working with silicone a lot when i was younger we always used an ice cube to smooth it out.. it doesn't stick to the ice and u can get a nice smooth finish.

Where on Earth did you get the idea to melt polystyrene in petrol?? Not sure where I would get rubber powder but perhaps (not joking) I could shred a tyre with a parmesan grater?? It would be interesting to see how the repair lasts with time. It seems a shame to do all that and not repair the small hole top right at the same time - it will only get bigger and will let water into the padding! I will actually try this as I have a small tear on my saddle.

Hi friend very good video. I have repaired the leather of some of my guitar cases using a similar technique. You may try this technique I came up with. Use a piece of real leather or material that has a similar pattern, coat it with Vaseline( so that it would not stick) and use it to inprint the pattern on the glue you used, it is best to do it when the glue is not completely dry. Where on Earth did you get the idea to melt polystyrene in petrol?? Not sure where I would get rubber powder but perhaps (not joking) I could shred a tyre with a parmesan grater?? It would be interesting to see how the repair lasts with time. It seems a shame to do all that and not repair the small hole top right at the same time - it will only get bigger and will let water into the padding! I will actually try this as I have a small tear on my saddle.

Hi friend very good video. I have repaired the leather of some of my guitar cases using a similar technique. You may try this technique I came up with. Use a piece of real leather or material that has a similar pattern, coat it with Vaseline( so that it would not stick) and use it to inprint the pattern on the glue you used, it is best to do it when the glue is not completely dry.
