I ordered the repair kit and followed the instructions and I'm delighted with the result!
Thank you so much - i managed to use what you showed and fixed my jacket sleeve that was ripped by the cat, there was actually a piece ripped out.
Hi that's great I'm glad we were able to help you...
Thank you very much from Seattle Washington USA.
Thanks lots- I'm convinced this will work for my jacket. Will try out ASAP
Nice tutorial... But don't you have to sew up the lining after you've used the seam ripper?
Of course, you do.
Thank you for making this!!
You can use either fine leather or a fabric material. We sell the tear repair kit on our site.
Lovely jobly..you make it look easy.
It's not that difficult if you need any help please stop us a line always happy to help info@leatherrepaircompany.com
thank you, this was so helpful
We only have one product on the Web site for tear repairs I will get you a link
What sort of glue is that? I have a 24 year old leather jacket that has been with me half my life that I can not find anyone willing to repair it. so now I am hunting how to do so myself. I think scars and frankinstine stitches would look pic. the collar has cracked the elbow was worn through. the seams in both arms are unraveling. It is in critical condition and I need to act quickly if there is any chance of it surviving the heat of Florida.
It’s a specific waterbased leather glue that’s made for this type of repairs for leather only
Great video. Thanks
So i'm broke/ cheap, could I use rubber cement in a pinch? Thanx.
frig sakes, brilliant job. looks much easier to fix a tear then a scratch! :( my lambskin jacket has a scratch on it i've been upset over.
You can email pictures over for us to help you, info@leatherrepaircompany.com
What kind of backing fabric do you use? Or does the backing fabric come with the repair kit?
Lisa Thao Hi yes the backing fabric comes with the kit
Very nice
Thanks for good job and scharing
Damn my $800 black Avirex Leather Jacket got a mad hole tear in it from baseball bat fight and hoping this will work
Very helpful video. Could I use normal pva glue aswell??
It is possible but you will find the area will go harder than the standard soft finish leather glue, that's the only issue
I went to your web sight and there are several products to select from. Can you tell me which product to buy to fix a similar tear on a black leather jacket?
www.leatherrepaircompany.com/store/#!/~/product/id=6624576 this is the product you require to repair a tear in the jacket
@@LeatherRepairUK it's doesn't say which product to order... do you sell to the U.S.?
Thank you
I have a 3-4 year old leather jacket and the collar has dozens of cracks all of a sudden. I've been ignorant of preventative care prior to this.
Is it fixable? I can't find any answers anywhere
Yes this can be fixed or replaced email help@leatherrepaircompany.com
this may be a stupid question but would this work with a synthetic leather jacket? the reason i ask is my jacket has a bunch of fibers sticking out inside the tear on the edges of the faux leather where it tore. the tear is much larger than an inch and is shaped more like a "C". any tips to make this process go as smoothly and done as best as possible. this jacket has a lot of sentimental value and your help would be much appreciated.
Hi yes the leather glue can be used in this type of jacket materials
beautiful job!!
Which glue ??? pls help me

Will this glue work for a Lambskin soft leather?
Futureone hi thanks for the post, yes as the leather jacket is a lamb skin also
I need help with the wrist of my leather coat. It's insulated so not easy to turn inside out. It's starting to get "rough" in other places too. The neck and belly area.
Please email over pictures info@leatherrepaircompany.com and one of the team will help with care advice for you
Great video really helpful thank you
I have a lamb skin jacket and got bitten on the elbow. Will a patch like this hold for years to come. Or should I replace the panel.
dcxsin thanks for the post your Better sending pictures to us so we can advise Better info@leatherrepaircompany.com
My rips are more towards the shoulder of the leather jacket, and its in a somewhat tough place to get to. Do you still recommend taking out the inside stitching of the jacket to get to it? Ive seen another method of just placing a pin through the subpatch and into something like that block and then feeding the subpatch into the jacket through the rip hole. Also, does it matter what material the subpatch is? What glue would you recommend? Thanks for your help.
Notorious TBG Thanks for the message you can do this in several ways, backing fabric can be leather or polly cotton. If it's very difficult to get into then using a block from behind to get a flat surface is always good, feed in the sub patch and then apply the pin then start gluing one side at a time, once the one side is glued you can remove the pin at this time, www.leatherrepaircompany.com/shop/leather-glue-repair-kit/
Thanks LRC, placing my order with you guys as I dont trust other glues. Any coupon codes to apply for US-based customers?
Good evening
I just noticed a tear in my beautiful navy patent leather jacket today. I am going to order the repair kit tonight. Do you have any additiinal tips for patent leather? Is it still okay to us the heated dryer? Thanks a lot for your video. I feared my jacket was permanently destroyed.
Nicole
Nicole Guise i would just let it dry naturally and don’t get any glue on the top of the leather
Thanks good info!
I got an unexpected 1/2 inch tear in my shearling leather jacket which I wore out just once 😕 It closes nicely but the Wool is on the inside. Is a patch used ?
Or can I just use leather glue only to seal it at the seam and hope for the best ?
Hello no slightly different approach can you send an email with pictures to us and we can then see what’s best in your situation
It will involve shaving a tiny amount of wool from around the tear to do this and then when fixed glue the wool back in place to hide the patch you’ve put in
Send to help@lrcuk.com
@@LeatherRepairUK Thank you! That method crossed my mind and I think you've explained it to me sufficiently and I understand what you mean. I just got the leather glue from amazon and I'm gunna give it a self attempt based on the procedure of your video and your comments. 👍🙏

Where can I buy your cleaning products please?
You buy these from our website the details are all in the video text here’s a link to the site www.leatherrepaircompany.com
What about re-sewing the lining?
Yes that can be done by hand with a slip stitch or in a machine if you have one
Perhaps a minor quibble but the repair isn't "complete." You still would have to re-sew the lining seam.
What can I use to make my leather jacket not squeak so much anymore? Everybody tells me to just wear it (which I have for 8 years) and it's not getting any better. I cannot move in the office or theatre without making a noise. This was a high end very expensive jacket from Superdry so I'm assuming it's good leather. Is there any way I can soften it with one of your products?
Hello leather jackets don’t squeak, is it a genuine leather item ?
@@LeatherRepairUK Yeah it's definitely genuine leather. I'm a leather worker myself so I have no doubt. The squeak happens in the seems where the top sides are stitched together. Squeak might be the wrong choice of word to use, it makes a sound every time I move and it's an annoying sound not like rubbing but more like it's sticky.
Great video
so you don't need to stitch it back up? Because you removed some of the sewing, do you need to sew it again?
hi, sorry I don't know your first name. Please could you tell me what glue you used and what type of backing fabric you used, will fabric glue do which I have as I use it in my sewing. My partner thinks I should be sewing it but it proved too hard to get the needle through the leather.
Mary Sinclair we provide everything in the leather glue kits we supply online it’s a leather glue and fabric backing
Can this be done on the back of a leather jacket? I would have to cut the linen on the inside of the jacket to access the tear.
Hello Yes you can do this on any part of a leather jacket
You dont always have to open the lining
@@LeatherRepairUK Can you ship this to the United States?
@@darktoadone5068 yes we ship worldwide
how about using crazy glue ?
Hi
What kind of material is it u put in the inside of the tear??
you can use either a fine lamb leather or a soft fabric
What kit must I order for a tear/rip in a black leather coat? & how much does it costs in U.S. dollars.. video doesn't show the kit
Hello you need to order a leather rear repair kit don’t know what it is in US dollars sorry we are in England in £‘s
Annie Ray here’s a link leatherrepaircompany.com/shop/tear-repair-kit-lrck6/
@@LeatherRepairUK thank you...
Annie, did you ever figure out how to get it in the US?
Nice tutorial mate, but that's experience for ya, left to me I'd almost certainly need a new lining, and more than likely a new sleeve, i think I'll send mine off to an expert for repair.
You would be amazed how you could achieve fantastic results
@@LeatherRepairUK If i had a jacket that i wasn't too bothered about, I'd give it a go, something to practice on, but i have an old Irvin jacket, more commonly known as a bomber jacket, would this technique you use still apply? It has a fluffy lining you see.
Thanks for the reply.
William the Conker a different process can you email info@leatherrepaircompany.com pictures and we can help you further
@@LeatherRepairUKYeah, no problem, I'll contact you within the next day or two with the pictures, many thanks.
except for sewing back the liner, which is probably the hardest part.
No it’s the easiest part you do what’s called a slip stitch to sew up the seam
What kind of glue is that? Any brand u recommend?
This is the glue we used to repair the tears.

What if it’s on ur back and not a sleeve
The same applies no matter where it is
@@LeatherRepairUK thanks for the reply! I have a tear at the bottom centre of the back of my jacket, and I’ve just been looking up trying to figure out if I can repair it myself, but I’m not confident with undoing the seams.

Ive got a tear on the back of the neck area of my 70's motorcycle cafe jacket. I think it was caused from being hung up on a coat hook for too long. That area seems to get a lot of stress from wearing it and the tear is slowly getting bigger, the leather around it is a bit worn and weak as well.. I'd love to order your repair kit, will you ship to Japan? Thank you very much
Yes we do ship to Japan. Www.leatherrepaircompany.com/store

can u still wash the jacket? because of the water based glue im asking..
You Can't wash a jacket at all. We would never advise this as it will ruin your leather.
how about steam wash?
You Can't steam wash leather at all.

Where can I find your glue in the Texas, USA?
You can order directly from our web site www.leatherrepaircompany.com/shop
It seems you chose the easiest part the jacket to get to for this demonstration. My problem is that the rip in my jacket is in the breast area of the jacket. There are no seams near that area and there's a lot of stuffing. ?? Anyone have a quick answer? lol
But thanks for the video. I know halfway how to fix it at aleast.

Devabrata Dutta if you don't repair the tear then yes this can spread for further help info@leatherrepaircompany.com

Devabrata Dutta please email pictures as per before
LeatherRepairUK I've sent it already.... take a look ... thanks for your help
Devabrata Dutta once leather has been marked like this anything is possible to get worse now it's opened up the leather, moisture and dirt can get in and cause further damage
Anyone know how to get a discound code ?!
We don’t have discount codes sorry about that

This is my New Years day 2017 project today - to replace the pockets of my beloved leather jacket.I don't understand how to sew through the leather because I am not removing the lining of the jacket. The inner lining of the jacket is intact - just the pockets are gone.

A pitbull attacked me and luckily didn't get my hand. But he held onto my jacket and ripped the cuff of the sleeve. It's not leather, its vinyl/imitation leather. I would really like to fix it. Can I send a picture via email? Thank you.
