    Thank you,for sharing as I’ve just found your channel. As I have had all items to make faux leather wristlets and name keychains but didn’t know what to do, thank you once again for you very easy detailed instructions . Instead of using glue you could use heat and bond.

      Hi, Annemarie! Thank you for your message. Yes, Heat n' Bond is another great option. I use that in my video on four different ways to put a back on faux leather earrings and I love it. Thanks again for your comment!

    Amy, FYI. if one does NOT change/u group, anything, such as Ungroup to Letters for instance, though we SEE the cut lines between kerned letters, they WILL BE "PRE"-WELDED upon clicking "Make it". ONLY if one ungroups in any fashion is the Welding step now needed for kerned fonts (as Cricut labels it).

    KERNING simply means more appropriate arrangement of letter-to-letter, to improve readability AND be more pleasing to the eye. KERNING is for all fonts, not only script; typography as a skillset includes kerning. Thx for this video!!

    Hi Amy! Do you know if you can apply hotfix jewels to faux leather and have them hold up? As in for earrings, bracelets, card holders, or key fobs? Or would you suggest gluing with G&S Cement or something of the like?

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi, Michelle! Thanks for your comment. I would test out Hotfix stones on faux leather first to see if they stay - I haven't tried them myself. I've used a lot of Hotfix stones on apparel, but fabric is much more porous than faux leather. If that doesn't work, I would try a cement or E6000 or something like that. :) Let me know how it goes! I will have to try it myself, too.

    My goodness!!!!! I’m intrigued with your videos, I love what you create!!!
    Was there a reason as to why you didn’t use fabric glue in your other wristlet video?

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my other wristlet video I demonstrated how to heat press vinyl on the back, so no fabric glue was needed. You can make the wristlets either way (with HTV on the back, or with two pieces of faux leather glued together). I just wanted to show both ways. :)

    Thank you for the video, very helpful! Do you have any tips for using an iron? New to this but I think I just had my setting to high and it didn't turn out well.

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Ashley! If you're using an iron, be sure it doesn't have the steam setting on or any moisture. You'll want to use a cover sheet like a Teflon sheet, parchment paper, or butcher paper.
      I would start with a scrap of vinyl and faux leather and test out a low iron setting. Move the iron around the whole time and only press for 5-7 seconds at a time.
      Keep removing the cover sheet and checking to see if the vinyl has adhered. If not, press a little longer and repeat the check.
      If two times of pressing isn't enough, then try the next higher temperature setting. Let me know how it goes!

      Thanks! No, not at all. You can add HTV personalization to either version. :)

    For faux leather, do you think hot glue or heat-n-bond would be good adhesive alternatives to Art’s Glitter Glue or E6000?

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, I would use Heat n' Bond (the Ultra Hold in the red package) before I used hot glue. It's very hard to get hot glue in a thin and even layer. :)

    Love this! Do you have to do off set with a name?

    • @AmyRomeu
      @AmyRomeu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, Amy! You don't have to do offset with a name at all, you can just use regular text. But an offset adds some dimension to the text and, in this case, it helps the letters stand out against a printed background. Totally optional, though!
