These are fun. Could you resize to cover a composition book or do you think that the weight of the composition book would be too much for this type of construction?
Hi, great question! I think a good quality faux leather will still create a nice and sturdy cover for a composition notebook. However unfortunately the notebook cover patterns aren't really designed to be resized - the premade holes and the tab closure sizes get all wonky. :( For a composition notebook, you can use a purple strong grip mat in 12x24 size to cut the faux leather with a Cricut.
i’m new at crafting with leather. But I want to make a checkbook cover for my Mom. Dad passed in July but I pay Moms bills for her. I want to customize his chkbk. Have you ever made a chkbk cover? Can i sew faux leather? I understand from your video the outside part.. how would I make the flaps that hold the checks and the register? maybe an extra piece of leather ? sewn ? I’m just stuck! Thank you
Hi, Lisa! Yes, you can sew faux leather! :) To make a checkbook, I would look on Etsy for a checkbook pattern SVG that will have the additional flap pieces you need. Be sure to read the description to see if the pattern is made to be hand sewn or machine sewn. A hand sewn pattern will have pre-cut holes you can thread through with a needle. I hope that helps!
I would attach the border and the logo together (both right side up) on the canvas and then mirror the attached design once they are on the mat preview screen so both the border and logo are mirrored. :)
Hi, you can try it, but be aware that resizing can mess up the size of the tab and the holes, etc. But it's worth a try! You can size it up and then cut it from cardstock as a sample to test so you don't waste material. Let me know how it goes!

Hi, Ruth! In the video I show you how to add a letter inside one of the frames. You could do the same thing with a logo if it’s also a SVG file. :)
