DIY No Sew Faux Leather Combo Wallet Keyring with Tassel

This is how I assemble the combo wallet. It's the perfect small wallet designed to fit standard bank card and has a coin pocket with snap button. Easy to make in just few minutes and super handy to hang with your keys.
I cut the faux leather with Cricut, but the template is available as PDF for print too, so if you don't own a Cricut or Silhouette machine, it can be cut with scissors.
Supplies list:
pebbled faux leather for the outer shell
any soft faux leather for the inner pockets ( felt could work too)
hot glue gun
2 sets of snap buttons and a tool to set them
keyring hardware
cutting machine or printer and scissors

Hi I am in the process of making this faux leather wallet and change purse, but I am struggling with the fastener snaps. Video goes too fast for me and I can't see which parts of the fasteners go where. Thanks! Love your work!
Hi Tammy, you can slow the video speed from the settings gear icon :)
I usually put the male half of the button on the flap and the female on the pocket body, but for functionality it really doesn't matter which is where, as long as it closes.

how well does it hold up with just using the hotglue?
It depends on the glue and the faux leather. If you can sew, that's the best. If you can't sew, but want it durable, there are other glue options too. Check this article cutcutecrafts.com/what-type-of-glue-for-faux-leather-hair-bows/

Thank you :) The keyring and clasp were bought on AliExpress, but I'm sure there is more variety now on Amazon too. Just look for Keyring Clasp.

What is the size of the largest piece. Printing the template, all pieces print on 8.5"x11", b.ut when I upload into Cricut, the pieces are larger
App. size unfolded without the closure and hang flap 4x5.5 inches or 103 x 135 mm. Make sure to open the SVG and not the DXF file. The DXF is for Silhouette Studio. Design Space doesn't always read the size in DXF correct.

Where do you get the hardware for your tassel? I have something different.
Usually craft stores, but you can also find different kinds on Amazon. You don't need the exact same hardware. Just make sure the ring has a way to be split or opened

Hey Kelly, the snaps are from a set I bought from Amazon and the setting pliers are Vario by Prym/Dritz brand. They come with a variety of setting tools that attach to them and make them perfect for placing eyelets, snap buttons, rivets etc.

Hey Patricia, I love pebble textured faux leather for the coin purses and wallets. It has textile backing, so it will hold well.

It depends on how many prints you want to use, but two should be plenty.
Hello! Is the faux leather 2mm thick?
Hey Lauren :) The pearlescent is thick, but not 2 mm. Probably 1 - 1.5 mm and has a fairly fuzzy back. The gold cheetah is much thinner.
I have a maker 3. Do I need a cutting mat to do this project?
Yes, you need to stick the faux leather to a mat to cut it.
Can this be done with cotton?
If you want to sew this design, it must be non fray fabric like faux leather or felt. There is 1/4 inch seam/glue allowance, but no allowance for turning inside seams.

Sure, they're Prym and come in a small suitcase set with variety of different attachments for the different types of snap buttons and eyelets.

@@rackybalboa thank you :) glad you like it! Forgot to mention I use these plies only for metal snaps. If you're going to use the plastic KAM snaps, the pliers are different and you can get a set of snaps with setting tools or pliers on Amazon or in craft stores.

@Kamila Williams you can slow it down as much as you want. Go to the gear icon on the video and choose the replay speed. Turn the sound off if slowing it 😂
It'd be amazing if everyone who list all these ideas would understand that not everyone I'd lucky enough to have a cutting machine so maybe you could list another way for anything that uses a cutting machine an alternative way to make anything the post videos like this I normally cut off and sometimes will hit the unsubscribe button when all they do is projects that I have no way off doing . It's kinda useless to keep watching videos I wish I could do but my old man won't get me that . I am a homemaker and don't have any income. I make jewelry and other stuff but no one wants to pay for whT I make they want to to front them stuff they never pay for .
Hey Lori, there are numerous options available to you. For those without machines, there is a printable PDF pattern available. You can cut it with scissors or craft knife and forget about machines :) The pattern is fairly simple and if you can't get the PDF, then you can figure it out by yourself and make your own without need of computer or machine. The video shows all parts and you can easily design your own version of a wallet.
