Everyone who watched Nick at Night knows that a traditional family is a single father raising his daughters with two of their uncles. Or hanging out with your friends at a bar every night.
TBF, the idea that a single income can support a family, providing for a full time parent when children are young, is not against leftist thought. There is nothing wrong with filling the role of Victorian Homemaker if that is what you want to do. We just don't need the gender stereotypes. Then again, my friends tend toward trad pagan ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Beau is right. There was nothing like that traditionally. The wife did not sit at home doing nothing but raising the kids and looking after the house. She usually had a job. And it could be a job like forging chains, not dainty sewing. Any sewing was for the family or a company.
You do realize that Al is a fictional character. I grew up in the 70s and 80's, most of my friends, both worked. Positive vibes from New Hampshire, remember to be kind to each other and yourself during these trying times. @timothyball3144
The problem with the Trad Wife is that she did not have any examples in her life. she should have talked to her grandmother or great grandmother. If she did, she would have known that the traditional wife is a partner in creation of the family and home, not a door mat. She was playing the role of a door mat. If she was a traditional wife, they would have been a team in making this home and family work. My Mom was going to be one of those until dad lost the job at the chicken farm(1962). In the time that it took him to find the next job, she looked for a job and took it because there was no unemployment or safety nets in 1962. Mom continued to be a bank teller until her retirement 43 years later. Dad also worked and the combined income provided the extras that the family enjoyed while I was growing up. Her job also provided the pension that they lived off of during retirement(they each had their own SS too).
12:24 "Russia will always have plenty of infantry to throw that way" is a horrifying statement. Both in how disposable men are treated under conscription and how it can endlessly fuel unjust wars.
Russia just took its highest single day losses of the entire war. If they keep losing soldiers at this rate they will be losing half a million men per year.
Gives me a little hope hearing of the split in the Israeli cabinet about occupying Gaza longterm. Given that there's no chance of an ally being dropped even POTUS has limited room for manoeuvre when it comes to applying pressure, feels like I've seen little acknowledgement of the limits to what he can do.
@@roadswithbeau Feels like there has been more attention paid to the tactics being used in Israel than outside coverage, I don't have your experience but even I can see how little sense it makes for the given reasons for going in.
1) News outlets putting out that billion dollar arms deal with missing info does not help Biden at all. I'm glad you clarified this, because even I was pissed, and I'm blue all the way. 2) I've seen on the news lately that Russia is making progress in Ukraine, and I'm VERY angry because I know it's because of Republicans in Congress holding up the aid. They've got blood on their hands.
6:00 - i thought you said in that recent video that Isreal is gearing up to start doing whack-a-mole for years, the same mistake that the US did that caused so much civilian loss.
And odds are that's what the tactical vehicles are for. However, there's been a big split over this inside the government there. Watch the video on the main channel in 34 minutes
That "whack a mole" is how to create enemies and antagonize people. It's how insurgents in Afghanistan were successful. It's one reason propping up the Republic of Vietnam was a lost cause. People keep failing to understand, the way to win the peace is to govern better than the opposition. Right now, the IDF is giving Hamas the high ground.
Basically... it's a kink. It's literally just a form of submission kink. But because it's being done by people who don't 'think' it's a kink, they don't go into it with the care and attention that people who are part of the kink scene would use to approach a negotiated power exchange relationship. So it goes bad, same as any kink can go bad when you don't go into it with an emphasis on negotiation, respect and consent (especially those kinks that play around with abnegation of 'respect and consent', it's all a series of negotiated play).
@@josephpotter5766 You know, I never thought of that, but it makes total sense. It's like people who want to get into BDSM, but all they know about it is that _Fifty Shades of Grey_ movie.
Im glad you mentioned that this whole tradwife thing isn't real. These women with their Tok Tok channels probably make more money than their husbands. They may always wear dresses and cook and clean and pop out kids but this isn't women who are actually solely dependent on their husbands. And for now they have no failt divorce laws
Understand one of the 'incel' commentators lamented the fact that Texas had no fault divorce as he didn't think his wife should be able to leave him without his permission...
Those channels always make me think of Martha Stewart who looked like a superhero of homemaking and made many people feel inadequate even when they tried their hardest...then it came out she had a staff behind the scenes making it possible for her to completely tile her swimming pool in cut up expired credit cards between lunch and a dinner party for 100 (some wit's joke at the time). She still was creative and a powerhouse, but she didn't do it alone. Not by a long shot.
@@poisonsumc7426 yeh we're seeing a lot of pushback on no fault divorce lately. I am afraid they will get rid of it. I hope they remember that no fault divorce not only saved women's lives but it saved mens too. If a woman couldn't get out of an abusive situation legally she does what she has to do
@@nac.mac.feegle yeh she was no Julia Childs. I've come to appreciate Martha Stewart more over the years though. Beyond anything else she is a business woman
How does one ask Beau a question? I have a local problem that has spread globally. Nothing big I suppose since these 5000 jobs have been shipped up to Canada, and now those jobs have gone to other cities and this is all because of tax subsidies being offered by the Canadian government. It's not really small potatoes but American jobs are American jobs, and when thousands of these jobs disappear over some 10 years, you get kind of frustrated after a while. All of the silencing that goes on, no one seems to want to talk about it. So how does one send information to Beau? Perhaps he'll give it a listen
It's Basic Capitalism! Profits are the SOLE goal, that's WHY we sent Most of our manufacturing jobs overseas! Cheaper Labor = Higher Profits! "American Jobs" isn't a Concern with America's Economic System, it's JUST making Profits! It's the Individualist Mind Set where we ONLY care about Our Own Bank Accounts versus trying to foster Prosperity for All... Just look at our Healthcare System, we've Known for YEARS that we pay the Most and get the least, but insurance and other healthcare companies line the Pockets of Our Politicians, just "Capitalism" at work!

My maternal grandmother would be considered a Trad Wife, my grandfather had a blue collar job and provided for the family while she maintained the house and children. But that was an era where many families could survive on a single income earner. Even my paternal grandmother worked outside the home because my grandfather was in the Navy and was on ship nine months out of the year and she worked at a department store to make ends meet. Both of my parents worked because they both had too. They often worked opposite shifts so one was always home with me. They had blue collar jobs and couldn't really afford to pay for childcare. So in one generation we have seen a huge shift in the number of working moms. Some generally wanted to work and had career designs, others worked because it was required to keep the family afloat. I have always worked and had career goals, but I believe all parents should have the option to stay home and raise children if that is their desire. Families should not be impoverished without a duel income household.
My mum stayed at home from the time they got me (I'm adopted) until I was 8, then she worked part-time. She made the house payments with that paycheck. Dad had a well paying job with the telephone company. She had always worked -- even when she followed my dad from posting to posting when he was in the military (WWII).

While free trade is always better economically, the problem is that the global economy is cut up into nation states which sometimes engage in hot or cold wars with each other. The existence of national governments and national elites is a drag on the economy. But I don't see an easy solution to that.
That's why the RWNJs are always screaming against an "NWO" - New World Order. Homogeny would cost them power/position and their overinflated egos can't accept that they AREN'T the center of the universe, regardless of what their mommies always told them. The oligarchies/"aristocrats"/"ruling elites" are the problem. We "commoners" just want to get on with life, without having self-important morons stirring up/pissing off the neighbors.

@@antiquegirl6505 Yes, but people didn't see it as unbelievable.

Beau doesn't do that as part of his approach to educating. And that might be smart.
I was screaming at the screen "Say Lady Jaye or I'm leaving!" 🤣 Good on ya bro.

So that split going public is a big deal. And nobody can call him soft. He's an ex commando.
@@roadswithbeau Feels like there has been more attention paid to the tactics being used in Israel than outside coverage, I don't have your experience but even I can see how little sense it makes for the given reasons for going in.
Your outrage over palestine and israel was selected by russia and china. Youre a pawn who knows nothing.
@@roadswithbeau "He's an ex commando."

Apparently Russia took its highest single day losses of the entire war in the last few days so that's probably good for Ukraine (if a bit grim)
I'm glad my head isn't full of all the things you're able to let inside, Beau, but I sure do admire the way you think.
Helpful hint for finding high ground:
Look for your municipality's water storage tanks.
Keep the river to your back.

The wack a mole isn't what causes the high civilian loss though. It's still not good though
"And why don't you send that money to..."🤣🤣🤣

any tariff is a tax to consumers. it is another transfer of wealth from the masses to the rich.
I don't know the details of "Trad wife" but it sounds like Stepford wives to me.
Yes. In a nutshell, yes

They might be for completing the takeover of the West Bank or invade Jordan.

Can we talk about the fact that no aid has entered Gaza since May 5th 2024?

Questionforbeau @ gmail
@roadswithbeau grateful thanks. it's going to take me awhile to prepare this but it's good to have your address thank you
I hope you get a chance to get your question sent in to Beau.
Me: **watches this video AFTER watching Beau's video about the Israeli Defense Minister's comments**
Internet Rando Who Made that $1000 Bet: **wishes they had**

Most of you people that send these ? are obviously new. You either listen and believe the corporate media OR you listen to Beau! What I see is that many of your questions were already previously answered but you're too shaky to PAY ATTENTION. You can watch Major Corporate NEWS (all saying the same thing) BUT let him decipher it for you.. Beau is definitely the antithesis of the "Florida man" trope!
I like to think that Beau speaks to/for the majority : good, decent people who research/think before shooting off about something.
Unfortunately, it's the loudmouth morons that get all the corporate media attention.

Good morning Beau and Bo Peeps!
Around in my parts of the country campers tend to go under bridges. Water levels don’t fluctuate as bad as flash flood prone areas, but I have seen people’s stuff floating after heavy rains and last winter I saw a news report of a homeless guy being washed away. I get that bridges are nice shelter and proximity to water is convenient, but stay clear especially during the high water times of year.
I lived in Houston, TX for a while and have seen cars floating under overpasses. Under bridges isn't safe in a flood!
It's wild to me how much Trump has managed to normalize dismissing knowledge, experience and wisdom in favor of memes and propaganda, to the point that you have "liberal" kids sending in moronic questions.
It's depressing, because it combines so well with laziness. And lack of curiosity, let alone encouraging the kids to follow their curiosity
That's not Trump, it's "innovation"/"tech bro"/"foundet"/VC nexus. It's imagining Newton saw a falling apple and created a theory of gravity, when in fact he spent 15 years getting his head around the mathematics.

That "liberal kid" couldn't really articulate American Acceptance of Dehumanizing the Palestinians...
the US severing ties with isreal isnt even really desirable in terms of helping Palestinians. ideally if a Palestinian state is formed America would have good relations with both it and isreal.
Thanks for explaining the tradwife thing as a stereotype.
Some of these people sending in questions are hilarious.
It's a shame that the US won't cut ties with Israel despite the ongoing genocide.
True. But maybe you could listen to Beau's coverage on that once more?
@2:15 Re Tariffs, I don't understand why he's selling it as protectionism when the national defense domestic manufacturing excuse is Right There.
Thank you Beau
Really missed the opportunity to say "and knowing is half the battle" at the end with the last question
A tariff is when a country does to itself in time of peace, that which an enemy would accomplish by blockade in time of war.
sometimes, it can be a means of economic priority, but the side effects must be considered. Iceland after the banking crisis, and Vietnam during the pandemic are two positive examples.
Someone must have had a thing for Baroness when they were a kid. I get it. I liked Zoltar from gi Joe and Roy Fokker from Robotech

putin had troops amassed for 6 months on the border.
that's what started the whole 'don't invade' thing by the west.
