I just got back from Rome and stayed at a hotel in Celio, 3 blocks east of the Colosseum. There were good restaurants nearby. Termini is known to be seedy. In fact, I avoided the area as a 73-year-old woman traveling solo.
74 woman and also travel solo. I stay just west of Piazza NAVONNA! Fabulous neighborhood. Very inexpensive (used to be) was “Charming Navonna”. GREAT restaurants close by!!
Wonderful, thank you. I stayed at a charming B&B very near the Vatican; it was booked through the Rome B&B Association in 2000. Hope to get back there again.
Stayed at the Hotel dei Mellini in November , perfectly placed and very quiet with loads of restaurants a few minutes away. Great staff and really nice rooms.
Nice, just booked first 5 nights in city rights at the center of Vatican and Colosseum etc.. It's hostel since I'm going to be out all day anyways. On other hand I'm planning last two days to be on nicer place on coast or some beautiful location outside the center to wind down after probably walking everywhere for almost a week ;D
Congratulations on the video, it was excellent, Rome is a wonderful city, I hope to visit one day. I started a channel here on TH-cam recently and record in the same way here in Brazil. I signed up, I will follow you from now on. A big hug!!!
5 person family going to Rome in late September for 9 days - all adults. I went last year but the other 4 are newbies. Stayed in an apartment when my husband and I went the last time but need something larger this time. Any suggestions?
My Extra Home apartments in Monti, we rented a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, with full kitchen and living room for about a hotel room would've cost for the week. Nice place.
I stayed at Lancelot, 3 blocks east of the Colosseum. I got 6 nights in a single for roughly $800. Breakfast is included and is very substantial. The staff are lovely. I booked in July for a trip the first week of April.
The area feels (and looks) a bit sketchy and seedy. There are plenty of pickpockets and fraudsters about (don't accept assistance from anyone trying to "help" you buy a train ticket). But "outright dangerous" it is not.
I’ve never had a dangerous encounter near Termini station. Pickpockets etc., yes! There are more than safe places to stay a few blocks from Termini as well……Anybody can wait in line for the tourist spots, but you have to experience the zoo of Termini and the metro for the full Rome holiday 😂

We stayed at My Extra Home apartments in Monti, wonderful experience. Short walk to the Coliseum one way, Trevi Fountain the other.
I have been staying at the Hotel Villa San Pio when in Rome for the past 25 years and it is without a doubt my favorite hotel in the world.
Thanks Mike!
The introduction is superb: Lusting of the recommended areas, supplemented with a very simple to read map! 🎉🎉
Thanks for the video great help planning our stay in Rome
Best video ever, every tourist should check out this video before coming to Rome 💯
For the last 49 years I have always stayed at the Ho tel Accademia just a few feet from the Trevi Fountain.

Thanks for you video
We rented an apartment in Prati a few years ago…best area.
Vatican City and most notably St. Peter’s Basilica is incredible.
Hi Dave do you have a video for booking excursions like your Athens vlog
Not yet. Hope to soon.
What's overwhelming about Rome is the throngs of tourists all over the place!
Mozart Hotel Via Del Corse ........perfect and good price
How about twenty one hotel in Rome ?
I’m curious actually but no one review

Hi, thanks for the video. How about a place for a family of four close to the Vatican?
🙏🌻🌳
The best museum in Rome is MUSEO NAZIONALE ROMANO.
The area around Termini is outright dangerous. I’m rather surprised you recommended it.
