    Stay in Trastevere. An authentic Roma feel surrounded by many of the locals... and its a great walk up into the hills for great views.

    Wherever you stay in SUMMER a hotel with AIR CONDITIONING is ESSENTIAL!! and explore dont just stare at the fountain at bottom of spanish steps for hours.If you like modernist architecture i recommend EUR a short metro journey from centre and CAFE NECCI in PIGNETO area a former haunt of PASSOLINI .

    Thanks again for the amount of work you guys put into these videos, my wife and I have our first trip to Italy coming up soon. We decided on an AirBNB in Monti while we are in Rome based on your recommendations. Trestevere looks amazing but it did seem like Monti would be more central for us since we are there for 8 days. Using you guys for our tours in Venice and Rome too! Keep up the great work!

      @@TheTourGuyVids Why not mention Termini. The area is less expensive, connected to everywhere. At night it's not cool, but it's quite. Walking during the day is fun, with a lot to see. Plus u can never get lost. Everything ends in Termini. It's so good for budget travelers. When u want to go home ,Termini is right there. It's been a good experience. I stay in three star hotels there, very clean and they serve breakfast. Lots of weird looking none Italians. Its more edgy , so it tells u that u r really away from home.The area gives u a real slap of reality in Italy. There r people that want that feeling. For what it's worth, from Sacramento.

    If Sean says it, it's got to be true. lol We did 4 tours with The Roman guy in Sept. 2018 (2 in Rome; 2 in Florence). The guides that work for TRG are incredible. They are professional (and a lot of fun) and have knowledge about any particular venue you are touring that is on a Ph.D. level... and that's not overstating it. I wouldn't consider another tour company. We watched most of your videos on Rome and Florence and were better off for it. Thanks, Sean.:)

      @AlistairAVogan 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would agree wth everything TRG’s has said here (and another TRG video How to See Rome in a Day) but would go even further! If you have no health issues and are there for a couple days or more avoid all modes of transportation other that your feet. To travel otherwise means you miss the gems along the way, and all attractions (in the city) are within walking distance of a centrally located accommodation. Last time we were there we (myself, wife and two daughters aged 7 and 11) saw everything most definitely on almost anyone’s wish list. Busses and trains add unnecessary complication and franticness to you vacation. Slow down and enjoy yourself! If you do want to explore the Appian way or visit Ostia Antica, you can easily rent a bike or scooter reasonably cheap, and for the latter a quick train can be caught near the Pyramid in Testaccio. Enjoy Rome!

It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don't have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!

If you are taking the trip you should be vaccinated or prepared to take the risks associated with travel during a pandemic.
