yes awesome vid,my bike died while coming of the track ,would not start for nothing, and was dreading to take it to the shop.its been sitting for a month,i finally pulled the seat and tank and checked for spark.no spark,ill bring my meter home today to check the stator ohms,i hope that fixes it.ive been looking through vids and came across this one and it did shed some light for me.thanks for the vid bro
Thanks for the video. My bike runs great now .You saved me a lot of money by not having to take it to a shop. I replaced my stator and it fired right up. Easy Fix. You are awesome!
Glad it helped! A shop would have charged you probably an hour in labor at least, at $100/hr....the multimeter paid for itself twice already! Good job!
I just checked my stater and it was 23 ohms. I heated up the thing to about 140 and the ohms went up to 25. It is heat dependent. That might be why mine died after warming up. My spark was also gone. One of my yellow wires was disconnected but I don't think it mattered.
can you tell me please the diameter of the coil wire that is used for the lights (yellow) and the resistance they have? if you remember or if someone else know about it..
I was in that exact position, except cuz I didn't know how to read multimeter I just replaced it anyways . I should've put high output stator to add a light but live & learn.
My stator worked just fine, until it got hot that is. It started to short out and wouldn't keep running. No harm was done to it, the bike just lacked the "spark" leg of the "fuel air spark" triad. If your stator is bad and not providing spark, then the bike won't run at all.

Your coil wire - spark plug cap should read 5.5 ohms. Meb coil
Lower than 5 ohms is no good
