Great update overall! I play on a large 4k monitor and would've loved to see something done about mouse/cursor scaling... I love the custom cursor in game because of the extra contextual information it provides, however, on large monitors, the cursor is TINY, and I have yet to find a way to make the custom cursor bigger. So yeah, I hope this trend of easier readability of the game continues.
This is awesome, I'm so happy you'll be able to read all the lore yourself for the first time soon (I watched your latest stream Vod, I think you should make your ironman now to get to experience it instead of waiting for Gim in the fall). And I listen to RSBANDB and that creator is Tanis who has vision impairment. I'm so happy to hear that he reacted so positively to it. I'm looking forward to his thoughts on the podcast this week. I'm sorry you were recently called out for spacebarring the latest quest. That was very unfair. I hope all gets better between you all.
This is a really exciting QoL update I can't wait to see! As you mention, you don't have to be visually impaired to benefit from the existence of this option. It may even make the game more understandable for people watching streamers.
I'm not someone who needs this accessibility but I think the large text boxes look great just from a new player perspective. I just wish they would code it so you can use middle click mouse button for camera control as currently when you're in the large text box you have to use arrow keys
@@ChevalricRS seems to be a weird issue with mouse clicks in general when the dialogue box is open. You have to do like an empty click with no 'x' icon then click again to come out of it. Probably the same issue causing middle mouse button to not work for camera control
only recently found your channel and its nice to see a content creator talk about accessibility. i think by virtue of being the kind of game it is, runescape is already quite accessible in terms of moment to moment gameplay. but damn these vision accessibility options are long overdue. i love the new full chatbox thats sick and is SO much easier on my eyes. i wish there was better colorblind modes for the entire game rather than just at certain bosses, im SO looking forward to the high contrast options
It will make Meiyerditch easier to navigate and other places as well. With time it will be a great update. Text Boxes can now have the mobile UI. So you can read the text now.
Shouldn't matter if a less amount of people are effected by X thing. As for visual clarity many people have impairments, especially when you get older.
It's super cool to see Jagex add great accessibility updates, but equally so to hear from someone who directly benefits from them and elaborates on how much it good these updates do. :)
Came into the twitch chat a while ago now talking about being arachnophobic and rax gatekeeping me from golden reaper, well I'm seis wand, rax log and a few kc of other bosses away from golden reaper. I was thinking about this mode and how it might help. Earlier today I was trying some stuff out with the filters and skyboxes to try and find a way to make rax pretty much unrecognisable but still just enough that I can do the fight with mechanics and no be totally freaked out. Currently the best I can do is changing colours around a lot with things like the blood stone and magic toad on. The advanced settings looked like it might help but going into the fight actually clears this setting. I'm pretty much hoping between the greyscale and highlights and some sort of filter it will be enough to do the job. Man it's gonna be rough otherwise lol. 😂😭
The mode can make it a complete coloured blob + i brought up the mode during out showcase, as rax was one of the places we went to and it came up :) so whoo knows in the future
Just meh from me. Seems like such a basic update to play about with fonts and things. Stuff like this should have been there to begin with. Also considering how much of the players have accessibility issues, I bet it's in the minority, I wonder why they've put emphasis onto this rather than meaningful content this year. Seems like filler or a way to keep face in a world nowadays that puts heavy emphasis on vulnerabilities and impairments. Jagex probably doesn't want to look bad as other games tend to offer stuff like this as standard. Last thing they want for the media is jagex refuses to cater to people with disabilities or impairments. It wouldn't look good. Importance is circumstantial. It benefits you for example as you have an impairment so it seems like the best thing ever but to players that do not need this accessibility support, it seems like a total waste of time but I do understand the reasoning as to why they've opted to do this now, albeit many years too late. Let's just hope they have some decent content this year as the game is struggling to retain as much of my focus as it used to. 3b xp now and just bored of linear skills and repetitive boss encounters 1000s of times over just to get a drop log that is essentially worthless now anyways because necromancy has broken the markets. you can turn of custom cursor in settings and use a regular one, if that might help?

100% and I am SO happy jagex is taking it so well and REALLY putting out quality changes, that are made with care and proper thought into them
