    Thank you for having the courage to do this. Most menopausal women are NEVER even given the discussion, the information they need to pick which HRT is right for them… because we need it for the rest of our lives, not for 5 years, & we ESPECIALLY NEED IT AT 70.

    I’m 53 and have suffered all the symptoms for years and had no idea they were related to being in perimenopause and menopause. I finally met with a menopause specialist today and cried through my whole appointment. I left feeling hopeful and validated. I’m getting on HRT and I can’t wait to be back to my old self again 🙏🏼

    You outlived your brothers because God chose you to help a lot women who suffer with Menopause symptoms and don't even know they are all about Menopause. You have been opening the eyes of many of us not only showing the risks of deseases Menopouse brings but teaching us how to get rid of them. You could be only treating your patients but you chose to bless many orhers by publushing your videos and books.You are blessed by God and may He multiply your days of Life in this dimension. Thank you só much Dr. Haver ❤

    We have been neglected for far to long! Women need to be educated! They're afraid of hormones and would rather suffer through it!
    You have inspired me, I'm pursuing my MA in Public health, getting certified as a health coach and menopause coach and I'll be translating your book because I brought it to my publisher and said: "We have to bring this knowledge to Europe. Let me do this!!"
    So... Let's go!!

    I remember just one day out of the blue having aches in my wrists and elbows and feet. It was hard to get up off the floor. I was actively in menopause but had no idea this was a symptom until recently. So little information out there and so hard to find! But I found you today and it is an answer to a prayer. Women are not stupid, we just need the tools to get through this! Thank you for dedicating your life to this!❤

    Love the content. Sadly, I was dismissed by not one but 2 women doctors after asking about hormone replacement. I'm 58 have many menopause symptoms...sleeplessness, flashes, joint pain, asthma (which started when menopause started!). So frustrating. Trying to find a doctor who specializes in hormone therapy. 😢 I've shared your videos with friends.

      I also have a female GP (she's somewhere in her 40s) who refuses even to discuss HRT with me! So, I went to the North American Menopause Society's website, did a search in my zip-code and found a local gynecologist who is a NAMS member. I scheduled an appointment and am anxious to see what _she_ says about it. I'm not too proud to beg 🥹 😂

    I went to my doctor today to have the perimenopause talk, and boy I was excited! I went in fully armed with all the knowledge you’ve given me through these videos and your book. I went in confident and ready to advocate for myself. What happened was not what I expected. I live in Michigan and apparently it’s state regulated that I can’t get HRT in my state until I am in menopause. If I still have any kind of period then it won’t be prescribed to me! I could have a period for another 5-7 years at this point and because I live in Michigan, I have to suffer through my symptoms?!?! I’m at a loss! Has anyone else heard of this and how did you get around it?

    I think it's interesting we say That a person falls and breaks their hip. I actually think it's the other way around where the hip breaks and the person falls because of their fragile bone structure.

    Woman can go to North American Menopause Society (NAMS) to find a gynecologist that is highly trained in menopause. Most take insurance.

    • @Katepwe
      @Katepwe 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes……not all practitioners are gynecologist, mine is a nurse practioner. In Canada practitioners aren’t covered but may be under private plans.

  • @Katepwe
    @Katepwe 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    It is about time people everywhere are talking about this. I’ve seen a OB/GYN who is in her 30’s who doesn’t have any answers. A NAMS practitioner is the only answer. It took me years to find one because, where I live in Canada, there is only 1 near me and she only started her clinic a few years ago. I’m 61 and have been post menopausal since 52. It has all been very upsetting for me. I definitely feel like I’ve suffered. The biggest thing I miss is a good sleep and yes, my eyebrows, they all fell out😢

    HRT side effect for me - major depression ! Wasn't expecting that at all ! Came off the estradiol and progesterone, and depression is now gone. Am going back to my Doc to see if there are any other options.

    • @doctoralisonjohnson
      @doctoralisonjohnson 29 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Sorry to hear that! Hormones are very complex. Sometimes different estrogens and progesterones are tolerated differently. Progesterone has been very difficult (oral micronized progesterone) for me to figure out. I have to do a much lower dose than others: 100mg intravaginally every other day. If I take it orally or too often intravaginally I get such crazy emotions: rage, crying, etc. But now I'm on a dose that works for me + estradiol patches. I hope you find something that works for you.

    Congratulations on your new book! I I have a question for HRT for someone in perimenopause. The hormones rise and fall during the menstrual cycles, should HRT be administered in such a way that tracks the natural hormonal rhythms? Or are they (e.g., estrogen and progesterone) given at a constant daily dose, which has been somewhat optimized? Do you think one way is better than the other? Or is there a third better way to administer the HRT?

    Could you do a video on women who spot or get period after being on HRT for a while? What concerns should we be aware of?

  • @marthaj67
    @marthaj67 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    I'm 57 and pretty much in the thick of it right now. One of my biggest concerns is, I have a 37 year-old daughter who thinks she knows everything because she "took some classes in anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology in college" AND because the people she follows on social media are "slightly older and they talk about these things" 🙄 She politely blows me off when I send her links to Dr. Haver's videos or try to tell her what she could be in store for in a few years' time. This has been the story of my life with her, but I'm wondering if anyone else has hard-headed, _Millennial_ daughters who think they know it all? I guess she's going to have to learn the hard way, like she always does 😔The good thing is, she will probably come to me and apologize again, telling me I was right like she did when my her daughter (my granddaughter) hit puberty... 🥹

      When I look back, I think a lot of symptoms began for me when I was about 35. I'm 42 now and fully aware of all the perimenopausal symptoms I have. Hopefully she'll listen over time with exposure :) I wish I knew then what I know now.

    I have a PCP who is happy to give me any blood work I ask for. Would it be valuable to start getting hormone panels every couple of weeks for data points? I just got my first estrogen, etc, panel but I don't know what he's expecting that one panel to tell us by itself. Other sources are telling me hormone panels are completley useless but I thought i'd heard Dr. Haver say the data is useful if it's multiple points in time, with cycle tracking dates from my own calendar to compare to
