Hello - yes this is the Magnesium L Theronate that I have been supplementing with. No matter my nutrition, I need the supplement and it added my brain fog and depression in menopause. Along with Omega 3,6 and 9, B12 and D3 when needed. Has saved my life, my doctor was not listening to me and wanted to place me on a depression pill which I refused and started doing my own research. Then I found you Dr Mary Claire Haver, thank you so much for the work you have done for all us women.

I bought the book ..and the supplements... and love all of it. This woman deserves to be compensated for the free information she posts daily, so it's all fine with me! 💜

I wish you would take new patients! I am also here in Friendswood, TX and so need desperately need your help....I am currently 43 and I am in full blown menopause. The month before my 40th birthday I was diagnosed with stage 3 Triple Negative breast cancer. I survived Thank God but went through chemotherapy, bilateral mastectomy, radiation and a full hysterotomy to reduce the risk of reoccurrence since I am also BRCA 1 positive. I feel terrible, exhausted, and have every other symptom out there. Unfortunately because I have a high risk of reoccurrence I cannot take any hormone replacement therapy. I feel like an old lady and I know this is exhausting for my husband and those around me. I just found your channel and will begin following in hopes that I can find some useful information. You seem to be a huge advocate and I wish you much success!

Thats why supplementing is not a bad idea. dr carolyn dean who wrote the book the magnesium miracle said she had seen people that said well i drink my greens smoothie and eat tons of vegetabels and still had magnesium deficiency symptoms

I'd advise people to be careful with supplementing with Magnesium. I tried supplementing with 40O mg of Magnesium glycinate (chelated), taken before bed, and the entire next day I felt lightheaded and as though I would faint at any moment. So I skipped a few nights of taking it and then took it again to make sure it was the magnesium (even though I wasn't taking any other new medications) and sure enough I felt faint all the following day. I now take between 100 and 200 mg because apparently that's all I can handle. Everyone is different, so I'd advise people to start slowly on a low dosage when incorporating extra magnesium into their diets as too much could be potentially life threatening.

Not sure if this mentioned anywhere, but Ashwaganda, which is often included in multi supplements for menopausal women, is NOT to be taken if you have (had) an overactive thyroid gland. Even if you are fine, taking it can trigger an episode of Graves. The reason Ashwaganda is so often included is that it gives women a 'kick' and makes them feel like they have more energy etc. and it also helps them keep the weight off or lose weight. Not something that someone who has had Graves needs!

Could be diabetes. Have the doctor check your fasting insulin levels. This is canary in the coal mine. Your blood glucose and a1c may still be normal but your pancreas could be pumping out massive amounts of insulin to keep the numbers low. This means you are already in bad shape. Once your pancreas goes, then you get the diabetes diagnosis.

My Mom had Alzheimer’s, she was told to take this (getting her to take anything let alone eat was like a three ring circus until I had the idea to make her meals colorful and separate each food type. I would mix the magnesium L theonate with what ever cooked food was on her plate. Within about 40 days I did notice a slight improvement. I’m glad that you mentioned it here because I was wondering if it would work for me in menopause (and hopefully reduce my chances of Alzheimer’s) thank you for the info.

Yes-Magnesium L- Threonate is fantastic! Our son had 3 concussions in high school football, about 8 or 9 years ago, and his brain doctor immediately put him on this for his brain healing. We've been on it ever since. He explained, as you did, how it's the only type that crosses the blood brain barrier. His concussion specialist put us on the Life Extension brand (you can buy most places) and it was so worth it! I never hear doctors discuss the type of magnesium so it's great that you are getting it out there as well!

This parfait is my absolute favorite dessert or breakfast. I also add nutritional yeast ( I just crave it) and eat a handful of almonds or other nut everyday. I don't eat enough pumpkin seeds, though. All of them are kept in glass jars, not the plastic bags they are sold in. This is less likely to transfer zeno estrogens fromt he plastics into the foods. if I can get food from the store not stored in plastic, that is what I'll purchase.
