Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.
Page made the acoustic guitar sound exactly what its meant to sound like. Perfect tone.
Dan Roux definitely
Riiight? He's the reason I fell in love with the acoustic.
17 76 same actually. His playing on acoustic is always perfect somehow
He talks about Bert Jansch as his favorite recorded tone.
He used the same rca compressor limiters.
He always took mental notes as a session player so when he had his chance he was the architect of the sound.
Dan Roux And he did it before Taylor came out.
Hands down, the best song ever written for a dog
use google - there are many cool pics of robert & strider.
I like Martha My Dear because I like pussycats.
Truth! My girl has blue eyes and we walk in the country, so I can relate to this 😂
martha my dear??
💯😁💯
imagine being around a campfire and somebody busts out their guitar and starts playing this and everyone starts stomping and clapping and singing and life is good
sadly none of my friends is really into zeppelin
me: *cries*
That the life
Done that. My dad recantly got into this song and i sad "this one's for my old man" and everyona was happy 😄
I have been playing guitar for a year now.
@@antondarrijonsson6104 that’s mighty impressive after a year. I believe it’s in open F tuning. That said after a year I’m doing ok myself
Bohnam the most underrated back up singer
totally
He was really really good it s impressive
But hands down mankind’s greatest drummer
His voice compliments Plants very well.
I didnt see this coming, i have to be honest
"MTV Unplugged", decades before it was born!!!
Grunge is pretty much a ''punk version of Led Zeppelin'' scene
Zep taught MTV.
@zorkoff1 MTV if it actually played music
What I admire about Led Zeppelin's live performances is that they're completely unique, you'll never hear the same way twice. They changed the key from the studio version, add a verse, add a guitar solo, change the instrumentation, etc. It made their performances more special. I love it.
Like Margataville.
Or, you could just say boys enjoying their music western knowledge!
Interesting fact the song is about plants dog named strider
@@michaelleonetti8564 finest dog I ever knew
They changed the song's key (1 step higher) because they also changed the tuning Jimmy uses on guitar (studio version is on Open F tuning, live versions were on Open G). They changed the tuning for convenience's sake as That's The Way, the song preceding Bron-Y-Aur Stomp in the 1975 Earls Court setlist, was also in Open G. In the 1977 tour they took out That's The Way and replaced it with Black Country Woman, which was also in Open G.
Bonhams backing vocals are so damn good here
The GDOAT and could sing as well!
Да и он сам чертовски хорош
And he sings upper third
John Bonham: "Ok, so i'll do this one with just my feet"
Jimmy Page: "Nah..you've got to do more than that mate"
John Bonham: " Ok...Maracas.. then".
And singing harmony vocals.
He's actually playing castanets, not maracas...
What he's actually playing is an old folk/trad instrument there called cheating spoons there commonly used in Irish and English folk music give em a Google it's a very cool instrument
I haven't seen many people pull of a hard rock solo on an acoustic guitar but Jimmy Page killed it
Jimmy Page always killed it, my guitar hero! Always! 😊
He was even using a bottleneck I suppose. Starting off at around 2:20
ZiSt1989 yeah he did, I saw it too.
Pearl Jam Unplugged is really nice
j'aime tout ghez Jimmy : son jeu, évidemment, son impossibilité et ses sourires inattendus ses regards vers les autres, ses cheveux dans les yeux, la façon dont il rejette la tête en arrière. ❤❤❤❤
i love how much robert is into jimmy's guitar skills he smiles and jams out to it
And that my friend..... is what made LED ZEPPELIN

Even took a photo of him as a pup on my motorcycle (just like Robert did). Ain't nothing in this world like a blue eyed merle............Strider!!!!
Damn I'm jealous
Four amazing musicians, but man... Jimmy's talent was and is completely astonishing.

Are you and Jimmy related btw?? Just kidding. :D Wish my surname was Page or Plant or Bonham or Jones. Greatest Rock band ever!

Good Lord, did we/I not grow up in the best of time of Music !!!!!!
Sometimes i watch these concert videos, and its like they are playing for each other, like a jam session and we are all privileged to watch. I'm so glad I grew up with Led Zep's music. Long live Rock n Roll!!!!!
WTF?? BONHAM SINGS TOO? THATS FUCKIN AWESOME
He sings on a lot. He is the backing vocal for all live shows.
where you've been all this long ? bonzo can sings so was his son too.
TheRocket127 I think Bonzo put vocals in the song thank you.
That's Page dude. Page sings the chorus part in Thank You.
Great voice, why he didn’t sing battle of evermore live in 77 I’ll ever know. Kinda thing plant wanted JPJ just to make him look stupid or ego
This band doesn’t get old. I feel like I’ve listened to something new in the song, though I’ve heard it thousands of times
exact reason as to why this is and will always be my most favorite band
There isn't a Led Zeppelin song that is just okay.... that doesn't exist and there is no such thing! ❤ I love every album and every song
Plant's voice is golden!!
And Bonham’s!
Apparently bonhams is too
And this is after he messed up his vocal chords
Happy times brought to the world by the best ever band of musical wizards.
"I guess that the main difference between Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple performances, is that if the electricity cuts off, we can still continuing playing the show" (Jimmy Page)
Ha ha so true
Right on!!
Where did he say this
30% of LZ songs are acoustic.

Page is looking like he had more fun playing that song live than any other.
I still love that he wrote a whole song about his puppy dog. That's something I would do.
There will never be another Jimmy Page.

Lol Jimmy page is still alive and well.. With a smoking hot redhead girlfriend.. U said that like he's gone.
Bonzo passed away at 38 years old. The drummer. The best drummer of all time. The remainimg band members agreed that the band could never be the same. I think the world agreed. Each one of them was vital. All 4 where the best at what they did.
Gawd am I the only person still alive to have seen Zep?? I am so happy that a new generation has found this band. I saw them first time in 1970 twice in 75 and last time in77..Best band of all time.
+Nola Belle Well Nola arn't we the fortunate ones huh? You know reading all the comments on any Led Zep video makes me realize just how fortunate we were. So many love the band and never had the opportunity that you and I had.
+Nola Belle New Orleans huh? Thats got to be pretty kewl Nola except for the storms you guys encounter. I'm in Vancouver the beautiful. They were my first concert back in 1970. My job allowed me to meet many famous people, but I never met Zep. I did however get to know a friend of Roberts briefly online, and she arranged for me to email Robert one time. I had express wanting to thank Robert for all the amazing music, so that was kewl.
+Nola Belle maybe that was the Nola event than inspired Royal Orleans?
you have no idea how fortunate you are !
its a shame that i will die without seeing zepp play live

Not too many people realize that Bonham had good singing voice.
'She just satisfies' was a single released by Jimmy page in the mid 1960s. It's actually pretty good, I think he did everything on that song including singing except drums.
Thank you without your comment we couldn't understand it
@Psychedelic BluesMan so jones had a bad voice?
He's a Beatles fellow. He can sing like Paul McCartney.
This version of the song is way better then the studio version. Wish I was there to see them live.
Prashant, yes. Total agreement. No other version of this comes close to this live one. It's outstanding. Every song they do is a beautiful masterpiece.

I agree! I just went back and listened to the recording, and this is a full step higher & way way more fun to listen to!
Jimmy Page...... Dayum!
It's so nice of security to allow people bring movie and video cameras to concerts .
I completely agree with this statement, this is just such a fantastic version to this song. The guitar solo was just magical & excellent & you can't forget about the Strider shoutout lol.
What's amazing about this song is that they have managed to perfectly capture the highly bubbly and animated temperament of dog. Worth every note and it's dedicated to man's best friend. Led Zeppelin is truly the band, the myth, the legend.
Even when Bonzo only plays with bass Drum and high hat he is the best drummer of the world
He could play with a pot and a pan and still be the best
I feel very lucky to be alive during this awesome age of musical genius. How fantastic can it get. Think about it Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Stones, Deep Purple, CSN&Y on and on and on. Out of them all Led Zeppelin still supplies me with an endorphin release each time I hear their magik. Love their art.
Versatility of John Paul Jones ... Just WOW!!!
Earls Court may have been LED ZEPPELIN at the Absolute Peak of Their Incredible Musical Powers... Robert Plant is Joyful & Beaming with his Golden god Presence. Jimmy Page has no equal & sounds like 2-3 Guitars ALL at the Same Time while Bonzo & John Paul are Absolutely Flawless while having Just as Much Fun as the Audience is! The TITANS Of Rock & Roll!
LA Forum brought out the best of them in my opinion. So did Japan in general
Song remains the same…
I've seen "the Song Remains the Same " many times and Led Zeppelin was Tour Tired and their performances in Earl's Court were far Superior @pr0ct3r0
Jimmy Page is a brilliant guitarist. When he does country style finger picking, it's incredible. This is such an upbeat and happy song. Cheers!

Words fail. This is brilliant. Jimmy just killing it in the days when mic-ing an acoustic guitar for a huge stadium was a feat unto itself. Robert and Bonzo harmonizing, so rarely captured live. JPJ just content to be the best musician in the band.

Lyrics:
Ah caught you smiling at me
That's the way it should be
Like a leaf is to a tree, so fine
Ah all the good times we had
I sang love songs so glad
Always smiling, never sad, so fine
As we walk down the country lanes
I'll be singing a song
Hear me calling your name
Hear the wind within the trees
Telling mother nature about you and me
Well if the sun shines so bright
Or on our way it's darkest night
The road we choose is always right, so fine
Ah can your love be so strong
When so many loves go wrong
Will our love go on and on
My, my, la de la, come on now it ain't too far
Tell your friends all around the world
Ain't no companion like a blue eyed merle
Come on now well let me tell you
What you're missing, missing, around them brick walls
So of one thing I am sure, it's a friendship so pure
Angels singing all around my door, so fine
Yeah, ain't but one thing to do spend my natural life with you
You're the finest dog I knew, so fine
When you're old and your eyes are dim
There ain't no old shep gonna happen again
We'll still go walking down country lanes
I'll sing the same old songs, hear me call your name
Thanks, Diego

Bron Yr Aur (breast of gold). I have driven past Bron Yr Aur many times over the years. As have many thousands and thousands of people without realising it. Just outside of the town of Machynlleth in North Wales. Historically important as the site of the first ever Senedd (Welsh parliament) under Welsh Prince, Owain Glyndwr.
Bron Yr Aur is set in beautiful surroundings. A place where Plant would holiday with his family as a child, and seek refuge from the stresses of touring later on in life. It must have been a source of great inspiration.
