    When you do something Gretzky never did, you get rewarded
    Edit: most assists in a postseason ever

      In other words, Gretzky scored more goals than Conner and als9 more total points. That's why he won 4 cups, and McGregor will never win any cups. Got it?

    You can’t make an argument he shouldn’t have won it. You can trash the concept of the award but he was far and away the best this postseason

      Bouchard has one of the best performances by any defenseman in playoff history Ranked 3rd all-time behind Coffey and Leetch. He should be getting more recongnition for this. Connor was almost insvisible half of the playoffs games. And no way in hell the Panters would'nt have made it that far without Bobrovsky who only had a handfull of bad games. Worst NHL take tbh.

      @Wowowowowowowowowowowowow 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@paulyp1155 I mean you can say he was invisible some games (which is stupid because you have impact beyond points and shots) but he averaged 1.6 points per game. You don’t think that Bouchard is aided by the talent on Florida’s defense? There is far more talent on the panther’s defense than the oiler’s offense has backing up Connor. If Connor isn’t creating offense, there usually isn’t any. Aka, more valuable.

      @@8799crosby Invisible was a bit much. In my opinion Oilers I think could have made it to the finals without McDavid. It's a bit of a stetch I admit and we will never find out. But I still stand my statement that Panters don't win without Bobrovsky. And honestly people don't give the Oilers team enough credit either.

    It's an award for the best playoff performer. They don't get anywhere near the finals without him. He had at least eight playoff games where he almost single-handedly dragged them to a W. In a gruelling team sport like hockey, that is incredible.

      I mean you can't say that doesn't apply to Bob the same, if not more. EDM had a bunch of guys that racked up pts in the first 2 rounds. FLA doesn't even make it out of rd 2 w/o thier goalie standing on his head and EDM wins the final in 5 games if they get plopped down there. EDM won and lost games with and without 97 showing up.

    • @seanyesaki5985
      @seanyesaki5985 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@BHox01 Bob was huge for sure. But, I'm not sure his underlying numbers for many of the games were outstanding. Shesterkin, and Swayman may have outplayed him in many games of the other two series. McDavid broke one of Gretzky's records (previously thought untouchable), set one of his own (two 4 point games in consecutive finals games), and he set a scoring mark only attained by Gretzky/Lemieux during a much higher scoring era in the NHL. This is legendary stuff that the league loves, too. Not saying Bob isn't deserving but that's my thinking. In the end, it doesn't really matter because given the choice, any player would want the Cup over the Conn Smythe.

    No question McDavid deserved Conn Smythe and it was near unanimous from the voters themselves. Breaking one of Gretzky's records (most assists in playoffs) and joining Wayne and Mario as the only players with 40 plus points is unheard of. He won it after game 5 with back to back 4 pt games.

    Without Connor McDavid’s Conn Smyth playoff efforts, Florida would have been playing either Dallas or Vancouver. Edmonton also made it to game 7 on his back. Remember, and I’m old enough to have seen it in person, Reggie Leach won the Conn Smyth in 1976 and the Flyers were swept by the Montreal Canadiens. He earned the award and he deserves the award. Congratulations to him and all the Oilers for making this playoff year one for the books.

      Reggie Leach had 19 GOALS in 16 games.
      McDavid getting the conn smythe turns it into a shitty participation trophy. It's an absolute joke.
      Media shouldn't be voting on it if they are just pathetic fanboys. They desperately want to give him an award so they give playoff MVP to a loser who disappeared in the finals.

      Why does he get a free pass but Bob can't possibly win because of a blowout?
      Because he's McDavid and we have to pretend he's such a great winner?

    He beat records by Wayne Gretzkey that is deserving in its self and this is from entire playoffs that every team was supposed to beat the oilers some of the goals and assists he scored where unbelievable who should have got it BB might have if he didn't have the break down no player would go out on the other side give the guy some time to think even if a Florida player winning it doesn't matter it's the cup it's a team thing he deserves it trust me any player who wins that trophy doesn't want something that points to one player it's the cup and if a Florida player had won it he would have been more worried about the team aspect
