Is he still going to be an Oiler? Get real. Its his team. He takes his role as the captain very seriously. He takes his role in the community very seriously. He takes great pride in helping to turn the franchise around and make it competitive. They got to Game 7of the finals and lost by a goal. He's not going anywhere.

The Oilers had a great season this year. One for the ages. Longest winning streak in the history of the western conference. Western conference champions. Highest playoff pk percentage in history. Conn Smythe winner. Came absolutely as close as you can to winning a cup without winning it. The idea that McDavid is looking for greener pastures is nothing more than ill-informed eastern media bias.
I guess that's the difference between Oilers players & Panthers players. If Florida had lost, no doubt all their players would have been looking for the EXIT sign. Their fans would have gone back to watching NFL, NCAA College Football, NASCAR & WWE.
