Panthers season ticket holder here. I went with my wife on Monday night to Game 7 and really felt that EDM was likely going to win. I had never seen them play before this series and was really impressed with their team speed. My wife and I talked about how we would react if Florida lost. I told her that I would stand up and congratulate and clap for EDM because they came back and would have beaten us four times and would have deserved the Cup. In the end, the Panthers played a great team game and were the better team that night. I have great respect for what EDM accomplished and how they fought back. Game 7 could have gone either way. I must also say that the EDM fans were gracious and courteous during the games and in defeat. One of them walked up to me and my wife, as we were wearing Panthers jerseys, and congratulated us. As a Blues fan, all I can say is congratulations on an amazing season. When they were down 0-3, I counted them out and boy did this team prove me wrong. It was either Leon or Connor that said Stanley cup or bust. There was no bust this year. If anything, it was a learning experience. Look what the Panthers went through last year. Edmonton will be back very soon stronger than ever. Kris Knoblauch turned this team from the potential lottery picks to going to the Stanley Cup finals. 46-18-5 in not his first full season is truly incredible. Congratulations on an amazing season and looking forward to our battles here soon.
I was 12 years old when the 1983 Edmonton Oilers lost the cup to the NY Islanders in a 4-0 sweep. It was devastating and it was the Islanders 4th cup in a row! The Oilers came back in 1984 to win their first cup in game 5 against the same NY Islanders which marked the end of the 8th NHL dynasty and the emergence of the 9th. This 2024 Oilers team played better than the 1983 team in the SCF and in games 4-6 this year they were as good, if not better than the 1984 SCF Oilers. This team has tremendous potential to win the cup in 2025. They have cup experience now and if they can develop more consistency in the 2024/2025 season they will be victorious.

Hopefully this is just the beginning for you guys, I remember thinking that in 2018 with the Winnipeg Jets, getting back deep into the playoffs is hard but the difference between the Jets and the Oilers is the Oilers have elite superstar players. as long as they have McDavid in his prime, the Oilers will always be contenders in my opinion, no matter if Drai stays or not

I have to admit I was cheering for Florida 100% being a Blues fan but I have to tip my hat. That was one of the best Stanley Cup playoffs I’ve ever watched. Thanks to all the players who fought so hard to make this such an amazing sport to be a fan of.
As a Leafs fan, I was in PEI/Ontario during Oilers Finals run and every single bar I went to (including the airports) was packed and cheering for Edmonton. Good job boys and good hustle. It was an insane year for both of these guys, and it's miraculous what type of numbers and milestones these 2 can accomplish while both suffering from major injuries in the playoffs. Again, we most likely were robbed of 2 truly great performances due to injuries and it would not surprise me in the slightest to see both of them reaching new levels next year for a redeeming-dominating cup win in 2025 IMO My 2025 Predictions (Numbers may be reaching heavily lol but these 2 mfers are just insane) Regular Season: 51-23-8, 110pts, Pacific Division Title - McDavid (if fully recovered from his abdominal surgery): 70 goals, 110-120assists, 180-190pts. - Draisaitl: 60 goals, 90-100 assists, 160pts Playoffs: - McDavid: 16 goals, 40 assists, 56pts, Conn Smythe winner - Draisaitl: 17 goals, 35assists, 52pts

I actually saw the Leafs last three cups so I am old. I want to see one more but in color this time. Failing that I would be happy to see the Oilers win a cup for sure. I hate seeing a team from Florida win a dam cup.
The Edmonton Oilers learned a lot of things this year and a lot of things during their cup run. They learned that not giving up on each other and having each others back and staying focused on what is right in front of them is HUGE! In the playoffs they learned that strong defence wins championships - something that was missing in previous years. But they found how to play that game in this post season and came within a hairs breadth of bringing home a cup. The other thing they’ve learned is the importance of going for the jugular every night on the playoffs and never letting your foot of f the other guy’s neck. It’s tough to win from behind. I do t think they ever make that mistake again. They have the core elements needed to win a Stanley Cup and I know everyone on that team knows it. Yes there are some RAs and UFAs and they may be tempted to chase the $, and there’s nothing wrong with that - it’s a short career. But a lot of these guys are also in the twilight of their careers and they know that this team is destined to win at least one cup, maybe more. And with that core of player talent and the lessons they learned this year, they’re gonna be a damn tough team to beat next season and in next year’s playoff run. I think most of them will want to stick around for what is going to be the best chance they’ll ever have to win a Stanley Cup.Buckle up I say. The cup is coming home to Edmonton.
Useless media asking repeatedly about contract status and no one thought to ask about the injuries, how they occurred or the lack of enforcement of rules that caused them.
I am grateful for the Oilers, I know I vented and I am good now. I literally as a kid had to survive by believing in this team. And I did. I will be there next year. You brought the hard work. Your fans believed in you, like I did. Every team wants to win, and, Go enjoy your summer! You deserve it!🧡💙🧡💙

This team grew into a defensively responsible group under Knoblauch and that's what it takes to win it all. These Oilers are definitely the favourites to start next season
@@MrDWithAnR Right. If you would have told me even two years ago that Edmonton would be one of the best defensive teams in the league I would have laughed. I always thought that the only way the Oilers could win it is if they outscored their many mistakes. Great run for the Oilers those first 3 games you all seemed to be moving too fast well also stationary, the Contenders did it well making you play their game, until you started making them play your game in 456. As Florida, the previous year having the opportunity to be there in the same situation, they most have learned the best mindset to make it happen this turn round. Impressive play.

As a panthers fan, this is a helluva team and that's going to get a cup sooner rather than later, for sure. Good series, oilers nation
Corny
Connor looked dope with the playoff beard, he should keep it and start the revenge tour for next season.
I may hate on the Oilers normally , but that was an impressive run as well as fan support.
No doubt they will win a cup or more in the near future. Keep going!
"A whole country" is a bit much. Not every Canadian wanted the Oilers to win.
Agreed! Definitely not me
I'm Canadian and have been a Panthers fan for a while so it was a bit awkward lmao
You guys did damn good coming back down 3 to 0 playing through injuries hope you guys stay together I could definitely see you back winning it all next season
This season was a nine-month rollercoaster of emotions being a fan. It was fun, and I'm looking forward to next season.
Correction. You were 2 shots away.
Two goals*
I watched the '94 finals and 2004 finals. Your series was right up there with those...exciting series.👍🏻
Leafs fan here was rooting for u guys
its a shame you guys lost but man what your team did was still inspirational (coming back from being worse than the sharks and being only the 10th team to clear a 3 game deficit in the playoffs) is an incredible story
and learning about what Mcdavid and Draisaitl played through really shows how badly they wanted this
i really wish it had a better ending but I sincerely hope your team wins it one day..... just you know after we do it
7:09 Leon wanted to say cause of Mark Spector lol
So true hahaha, he should’ve said “Edmonton, its either me or Spec”
😂😂
lmfao
"So knowing that going forward is going to be really big for us." Leon obviously wants to stay.
We love you and proud of you guys what you did for us thanks 🧡💙🧡💙
Oilers had a historic year Fans should be nothing but proud. Hopefully this is just the beginning for you guys, I remember thinking that in 2018 with the Winnipeg Jets, getting back deep into the playoffs is hard but the difference between the Jets and the Oilers is the Oilers have elite superstar players. as long as they have McDavid in his prime, the Oilers will always be contenders in my opinion, no matter if Drai stays or not
Congratulations McDavid on Winning The Conn Smythe Trophy 🏆!!
Keep Up The Great Work !!
Cheers bro !
Great Job Boys !
🏆🏒😎👍
Super human effort to fight back after being down 3 games to force a game 7! Congratulations Connor, Leon and the entire Oiler organization for your accomplishments!
I have to admit I was cheering for Florida 100% being a Blues fan but I have to tip my hat. That was one of the best Stanley Cup playoffs I’ve ever watched. Thanks to all the players who fought so hard to make this such an amazing sport to be a fan of.
Edmonton and their fans have nothing to be ashamed of! You played a great series.
7:46 when you ask great questions like this, you get great answers like McDavid gave.
I am so proud for the whole group. As a german special for leon.❤❤❤❤
These reporters with the contract questions already are ridiculous. Lifelong Panther fan here. Great job Oilers on a magnificent run.
8 minutes to get to the first well thought out and articulated question that wasn’t a variation of asking Leon whether he’s signing an extension lol.
As a Leafs fan, I was in PEI/Ontario during Oilers Finals run and every single bar I went to (including the airports) was packed and cheering for Edmonton. Good job boys and good hustle. I know many disagree (and it isn't a big deal but its my opinion) but I didn't like how MCD didn't come out for the Con Smythe award. Regardless, I understand it. Anyways, good run boys. Next year or the following, I wouldn't be surprised to see Edmonton win a cup (if they keep the team together)
PANTHERS FAN HERE BUT GREAT SERIES MET EVERY EXPECTATION!!!
We love you guys, the whole team. So proud of what you accomplished and to be an Oilers fan even through all the dark times in the decade. To Leon you're the favorite in this house, we even named our puppy Leon. 💙🧡💙🧡
Couldnt be more proud of these Oilers, i know you guys wanted the bigger prize but hold yr heads up and be proud. I sure hope we see you both back next year. Its worth it.
Flames fan here, I know it's way different from the norm but I definitely was cheering for y'all LOL 100%. It was an insane year for both of these guys, and it's miraculous what type of numbers and milestones these 2 can accomplish while both suffering from major injuries in the playoffs. Again, we most likely were robbed of 2 truly great performances due to injuries and it would not surprise me in the slightest to see both of them reaching new levels next year for a redeeming-dominating cup win in 2025 IMO
My 2025 Predictions (Numbers may be reaching heavily lol but these 2 mfers are just insane)
Regular Season: 51-23-8, 110pts, Pacific Division Title
- McDavid (if fully recovered from his abdominal surgery): 70 goals, 110-120assists, 180-190pts.
- Draisaitl: 60 goals, 90-100 assists, 160pts
Playoffs:
- McDavid: 16 goals, 40 assists, 56pts, Conn Smythe winner
- Draisaitl: 17 goals, 35assists, 52pts
My predictions for 2024/25
Nurse 200-210 points
Skinner 92 wins
🥴
Thank you, Connor and Leon for an amazing season. Great memories.
It sucks but they came a long way this year, can't be more proud to be an oilers fan and glad i got into watching hockey regularly this year, been a fan since the 07 time frame in elementary school but never really watched. So glad I started this year, looking forward to October.
Hopefully Drai stays with us
Great playoff run Boys.
Loved every game you played this season ❤❤❤ and looking forward for next season 👏👏
I’m really proud of the oilers team u guys r awesome hopefully next year we’ll get the cup
PANTHERS BABY 🐀🏆😤
I love the belief part, it gives everyone hope and you guys have shown it throughout
BRAVO ET RESPECT DE MONTRÉAL AUSSI ! ! ! !
🫵👍👌✌️💪
Thanks Darnell !
I actually saw the Leafs last three cups so I am old. I want to see one more but in color this time. Failing that I would be happy to see the Oilers win a cup for sure. I hate seeing a team from Florida win a dam cup.
Go Oilers we’ll be back better than ever next season!🔵🟠
I guess it’s possible depending on how much they get back for draisaitl.
Nope
What would Joey do
We gotta find a way to keep Leon
He will leave and come to the flames. Canadas REAL TEAM
Yeah pay him he makes less than Nurse which is just stupid.
@@heatgrimm8664don't that, the Oilers will pay to keep him
Just like chucky and Johnny right?
I guess if the oilers can find a way to make Edmonton have the same weather as San Jose it’s possible.
I see it as a great learning experience. Use this as a fire to keep pushing in the future.
Useless media asking repeatedly about contract status and no one thought to ask about the injuries, how they occurred or the lack of enforcement of rules that caused them.
Leon: "...Pretty much the full country behind us"
Flames fans: "Am I a joke to you?"
Tayeul osti de cornichon
I have enjoyed watching the Oilers! Off to the next season! 💪
Thank You Oilers for these memories, right up there with the best NHL memories of my life. Incredible.
Problem is the goalie, not the players. If they get a top 5 goalie, they would have a different outcome
Awesome season, boys. Can't wait for the next.
I am grateful for the Oilers, I know I vented and I am good now. I literally as a kid had to survive by believing in this team. And I did. I will be there next year. You brought the hard work. Your fans believed in you, like I did. Every team wants to win, and, Go enjoy your summer! You deserve it!🧡💙🧡💙
Proud of you all.
The more the excitement love and rallying, means a bigger loss when we don't take it all. My heart hurts for our boys.
If I were Edmonton fans I’d be concerned about Leon. Hes thinking about leaving you can totally tell.
nah boys keep your heads high, one hell of a season. Nobody true Edmonton fan is disappointed. Also side note, Knoblauch's a gem and best thing to happen to the franchise since 99
As a Leafs fan, I say massive congratulations to the Oilers for an amazing Stanley Cup run. So many of us were on the edge of our seats for each and every game. You united hockey fans from coast to coast and became ‘Canada’s team’. I’m soooo proud of you all!! You deserve a parade for what you accomplished this season! Blessings to you all.
BTW, even with their team being great on defence, they still outscored the Panthers 23-18 during the series…
Drai doesn’t sound very committed to staying.
It sucked to see them lose, sucked even more to know these guys were 2 goals short of their ultimate prize and turning Edmonton into party city for a while, but they did really good, and it wasn't a fluke. We can rest easy knowing the finals aren't out of reach for this core
This is all fire for next year
Make dreams happen. This duo can withstand it all. So freaking close. We believe. 🙏🏼
Really sounds like Drai is gone next summer:/
Good job boys we will get it next year 💙
Oilers had a great year. Leon, ihr seid all stolz sein
Thank you for a great season.
What watch is drai wearing?
