Thanks for all these positive films about Poland ... people from England and Ireland think that we live with animals in the stable. I apologize for the errors (translator)
I really enjoy watching your vlogs. I moved from Krakow to Gdansk almost two years ago and it was such a pleasure to watch some places in Krakow with you guys once again. Enjoy your stay in Gdansk.
I watched all yours videos from Krakow. It’s been years since I was there. You just convinced me to go once again. Thank you for such beautiful promotion of my country. Huge fan of your work. Keep going!
I really loved this video. I think because it felt so spontaneous. Everyone who has traveled has had the "gee, this isn't what we were expecting" moments, and you guys captured that really well. I was right there with you. Great job--your videos are really fun.
Damn you guys made me miss Poland so much! I took the Pendolino from Warsaw to Krakow last year during my solo trip. It was an empty train, so empty that I got the whole coach to myself! Greetings from Kuala Lumpur :)
My dear, little advice for you. Try the local CRAFT beers, not the mass-produced Tyskie type. We have in Poland a HUGE selection of craft beers of great quality
if you haven't discovered already- Gdansk has Dutch influences- you can see on the Main Street with the fountain. Sopot was always a resort town and Gdynia is a new city built in the 20's with a huge Art Deco influence. It may be worth taking a boat (there is one that goes regularly) from the Tricity to Hel. Kaszubian culture in a small town on the tip of the peninsula. I am a Canadian living in Poland for 15 years- I love that you are doing this vlog- and I love that people are finally taking notice of this great country!!
Gdansk is not a new city. Its an old slavic setlement and was a very rich slavic town even before germans came and iccupied it in 16th century. Read a bit more about this town it has very, very long history.
Hi guys Really glad you decided to see & explore Gdansk. At first I was afraid you were going to miss the main street where the Neptune's Fountain is but it looks like you found it after all. Can't wait for your next video and enjoy your stay in Gdansk / Sopot
07:41 that building you were wondering what it was, it's main train station building. You must have had miss the main exit. There are few underpasses and one exit on the level of Grunwaldzka street.
Building you pointed is main train station. Unfortunately under renovation. You took an "backdoor" tunnel from the platform leading to main bus station. And really try to check out town of Sopot. It's 30 min. by train from your location :)
It's a very interesting vlog guys, I'm actually Polish but have lived abroad for 35 years now and I miss Poland so much. I visit my country every year and I notice how much Poland is improving years after years, not only the infrastructure but also public service and the people. It's nice to see you having a good time there and thanks for showing Poland the way it really is. Just a suggestion for your next vlog about Poland, try to learn a few words in Polish, people will love you if you even just try to say something in their language. Another thing, Poles are very attached to their tradition and history, so if you show them you know some Polish history then they'll love you. Pozdrawiam 😉
Took the train from Poznan, Krakow, then Warsaw June 19. The countryside was beautiful. Just passed you guys as I was heading south and you north to Gdansk. Gdansk is fantastic as is all of Poland.
Enjoy Gdansk guys. Hope you have lots of fun. If you will be in Warsaw this following weekend, let me know. We'll be super happy to grab a beer with you .
Oo.. oo ... Somebody got her bangs done! Fabulous! So pretty! 😍 Just like a princess! I undestand that the food and coffee is great but where’s the fava beans and Chianti?! Everything... everything taste better with fava beans and Chianti! 😅
I lived in Gdansk for five years and it made me chuckle how you got off the train there, looked at the main train station and went 'oh, we don't actually know what that building is' :-) But I like the trains too, always did since I was a kid and now every time I'm in Poland I try to take at least one ride.
Hey guys, have a great stay in Gdańsk which is my hometown!!! Don't be confused of the first pictures of the town, because it is a little bit outside of the city centre. The more you will explore in the Old Town, the more you gonna like it! And if you feel like to eat some pierogi, then visit Pierogarnia Mandu. The best pierogi in town! Cheers! :)
Wow, props for reaching even to Zaspa! Looking so much forward to your new vlogs. Let's see, maybe I will learn new things about Gdańsk, even though I'm the citizen :)
I am thanking you a lot for fine words about our darling Poland, it is a country of guards of the attention of everyone even the most of fussy tourist. Of the pleasant travel and interesting reflection. Dziękuję Wam bardzo za piękne słowa o naszej kochanej Polsce, to kraj wart uwagi każdego nawet najbardziej wybrednego turysty. Przyjemnej podróży i ciekawych refleksji.
Hi. For pierogi look for Mandu restaurant in old town of Gdańsk or in Oliwa. It's too short stay to see everything but hope you will enjoy 3city(Trójmisto). What to see? - II World War Museum - Old Town of Gdańsk - Pachołek - viewpoint in Oliwa - Sopot - wooden pier - If you have some more time: as mantioned Malbork Castle or German concentration camp museum(Konzentrationslager Stutthof ) in Sztutowo Also I would recommend to look for some "Bar Mleczny"- place where you can eat typical dishes that are present in average polish home ;) Best wishes!
VERY similar from the research we did, no reason to upgrade, we were comfortable. Think 1st gets a meal though, but cant imagine it is that flash or worth the cost
1st class also usually has wider and softer seats. However what you get varies from train to train. On the other hand it is rare, but still possible to end up on a train from the 80's, however not on an InterCity connection.
Word of advice - this is what you can expect from an InterCity train in Poland (though not always). If you want a true Polish railway experience, try a TLK train. Be advised - it is not for the faint-hearted, because the travel time is ridiculously long, the cars date back to early 1980s and look (and smell) like they haven't been properly cleaned since leaving the factory, and the conductors will be absolutely useless if you try to communicate with them in any foreign language. On some connections, there is also the added bonus of stinkbugs. Poland can seem nice when you're travelling between the big cities, but in its heart, it remains depressingly Eastern European. I should know, I've lived here my entire life.
Got to agree with dreadfulsam. Recently I traveled from the south up to Poznan by train and had to use a combination of the regional lines and the IC. Gotta say that the IC these days is a lot better these days, but the regional lines lack in comfort and ease of use. TLK is probably the worst train you can get. In regards to the classes - as far as I know, the differences in IC trains are minimal, but in the "latest and greatest" EIP trains there's quite some difference.
have a nice few days in Gdańsk guys, probably You have some plans for later on , but don't miss Malbork Castle. It's close do Gdańsk and it's must see location in Poland. Oh.. and please try to visit Poznań, historically very important city with cool spots as well. cheers!
I just wanted to recommend Malbork as well! I'm from Czech and have friends in Poznan and Gdansk. We have enjoyed Malbork castle a lot! Tip for a day trip by ferry in Gdansk: peninsula Hel (with one "l", but still, you can say, you've been to Hel LOL)
As someone already said - check Elektryków street and I can add World war II museum to that (but it consumes about 3-4 hours, audioguide in english is 10 zł). You are doing great job with these vids. Keep it up :D Greetings from Gdańsk resident ;)
Daneger and Stacey well few years ago when I lived there iit was really terrible. Now I actually live in Prague LOL. Have a lovely stay in Gdańsk. It's very interesting and beautiful city. Have fun! :) p s. Love your videos
Check out the shipyard (100cznia, electrician's street) cool vibe and great street food! Also, the european solidarity center is right next to it! Have fun!
Oh dear! I guess You ended up in Orunia district. it's not very pleasant place, is it? but don't worry if you are already there, every direction you take simlply must be better:D a piece of advice: if you have some spare time check out "pachołek"(viewpoint). it's really worth seeing. I wolud also recommend to you Oliwski park, Góra gradowa (beautiful view and history), museum of amber, Mariacka street and some churches (Bazylika Mariacka, Katedra Oliwska et cetera) do not underestimate them. thease are lovely buildings. And the Baltic sea of course. good luck on your channel and have a nice stay!
Thanks so much! We're not in Orunia, thats quite a lot further down, we're just opposite the old town really and its actually not that bad at all - easy walk there today in 5-10 minutes so we are happy. Stay tuned, new video from Gdansk in a few days
Gdansk looks different in character to Krakow, so this will be interesting to follow. Geography trivia - both Krakow and Gdansk are situated on the Wisla (Vistula) River :)
Haha, only ugly suburbs of Gdańsk are shown in this video and the main station which unfortunately is currently being renovated, hence the mess and problems with lifts & moving luggage. Wait for the next movie and next views, I live here and can guarantee you'll be very pleasently surprised :-)
Both of the cities are old and have very different character. Gdansk being older and had much more turbulent history . Not many people know or notice but a lot of the main street ( długa street ) like 80%of the historical tenement houses were destroyed and then rebuilt with the historical accuracy. Nec temere, nec timide.
If you guys like medieval vibe you must visit Malbork Castle .... It is the largest castle in the world ..... and since you guys in Gdansk check out Fahrenheit birthplace .... not far from your zapiekanka place
My mother's opinion about PKP 2 class expess vs Canada VIA Ottawa-Toronto: no wobble, no noises, on time - superb. She said it correctly. Thanks, as I'm from Gdansk Pomerania.
Just to let you know that Zaspa wide and open space area was a airport previously. Somewhere back in 60's.I'm from Przymorze where you've been as well.Love your vlog guys...all the best .
You guys just need to see Toruń (www.torun.pl/en) on your way to Warsaw. It's a Nicolaus Copernicus hometown and olso you wanna try original toruń gingerbread. BTW I'm from Płock - another 100km closer to Warsaw. Have a lovely visit to PL, greets!
Gdańsk might seem a bit confusing upon first contact, as the city has been burned down to ground by Soviet forces after being captured with little fight in 1945, then only some parts of the city got rebuilt and nowadays there has been a boom in housing development as the city is one of the wealthiest in Poland. The fire of Gdańsk is impressively described in a novel "A Tin Drum" by Nobel Laureate Gunther Grass, I really recommend it to get the mood of the city. I see that you got lost around 17-century fortifications, if you look from above, you would see a system of bastions and canals used for defence, similar to Copenhagen and many Dutch cities. Good luck exploring TriCity! :)
We love to travel by train, actually we’re looking n the train right now. It easy and relaxing, if everything goes by plan, and you see the beauty of the countryside, most of the time haha.
Hah managed to make a train journey entertaining ! was literally about to comment about the pizza and beer before I was told at the end of the video hah . You still managing to smash the gym in out Europe ?
Always find a way to fit in the pizza and beer! We've been really slack up until Krakow, easier to train when you're slow traveling for a month so we were going 2-4 times a week, cooking meals, tracking macros, strict training etc.

Hi again guys! Loving your work! Quick question- what is the situation with luggage please, as I see you were free to wander to the coffee bar etc. I’m planning on mainly using trains next year when I spent 3 months in Europe so bag security is a key issue for me seeing I’ll have more than just a back pack. Would appreciate your advice on this. Is there a luggage car where you can store your bags so you don’t have to worry about them til you arrive at your destination perhaps? Thanks, Marg
Hey, I was just wondering how you guys felt about leaving your bags by your seat when you went to grab food? I'm going to be taking a few trains in poland soon and was just wondering if I'd be able to leave my luggage and explore the train a bit. Only asking this because I am going to be travelling solo. Cheers
It felt pretty safe to us, so we weren't phased. You also have assigned seats on certain classes and as long as you look around and feel comfortable, you'll be sweet
@@DaneAndStacey great, do you have any tips for first time train travel in Poland by any chance? And did you see anyone drinking outside of the "Bar" compartment? Again, thank you so much for responding to this comment on an older video, your advice is truly appreciated 😁
Yes I did. I was just curious about what specific dishes do you like. I've seen that you tasted żurek, pierogi (most english speakers makes mistake by saying pierogiS, pierogi itself are plural), and some zapiekanka (which is the best street food ever in my opinion). Have you tried bigos (hunters stew), flaki (very spicy soup with some interesting ingredient) or tartare? In case of beer I recommend you Baltic porter (Komes or Kormoran brewery), Grodziskie (smoked light beer) and Jopejskie (it's specific to Gdańsk) - those are polish historical beer styles. For sumer time for her beers like Nomono (Soli Piwko brewery), Smoothie (Piwojad brewery) Son of a Birch, Koniec Świata (Pinta Brewery) For him: Forest, Charlotte (Nepomucen bewery), Session Pineapple Ale (Jan Olbracht brewery) and any Veront IPA
So nice to see happy foreigners in my country :) I saw few of your vlogs from Poland and I noticed that probably you still haven't tried our the most popular dishes. Maybe I'm wrong ;). Are you going to visit more cities in Poland? I can recommend you Wroclaw and also give you some tips about this city! Love your vlogs and your positive energy :*
I love Gdańsk. My favorite city in Poland although I live somewhere else. You've got so much more to see there. Next thing I'll do is I'll check if you were in Warszawa already. :)
Are You going to explore Westerplatte? You can take a ship to there from Gdansk old city :D Westerplatte is the place where the WWII have started so worth a look :) Enjoy Your stay !
Gdańsk is my city! For me one of the most beautiful citys in Europe. I dont know what you guys saw them but if you are in Gdansk you need to see: Olivas park and cathedral, main city: neptuns fountain, all gates, saint mary church, soldek ship( its museum inside), world war II museum, amber museum many others things in main city, beach and sea, westerplatte, solidarnosc etc.
Poland been there done that,,,,all I have to say is.....good food, great beer, nature absolutely great and verry cheap,,,,,,,people well 50 50 some are great and some not so mutch but deffinetly worth going.
You was walking from the most creepy district in Gdańsk named "Orunia dolna" to some streets in Gdańsk that I didn't even know they exist :D I'm living between Jelitkowo district and Sopot and I can recommended for you start walking from jelitkowo to Sopot through promenade or you can also start walk from Ergo arena, behind this big building is pathway which is going to the shore. (sorry for my English, I hope u will understand me :D)
Your English was great, no worries! We're not in Orunia, thats quite a lot further down, we're just opposite the old town really and its actually not that bad at all - easy walk there today in 5-10 minutes so we are happy
And from what I see, you live close to the national museum - worth visiting as well. :) You rented a flat in a bit 'rough' area. :D Should have asks subscribers. :P
Thanks so much guys! We actually don't ride trains often, especially while traveling, because Asia doesn't' really have many and we've spent so long there. This was a great experience though, more to come for sure.
Things i liked in Gdańsk out of touristy area: - 100cznia and ulica elektryków: old shipyard buildings turned into hip place with food, beer, music - Murals Gdansk Zaspa: blocks of flats with a lot of huge murals around - Falowiec: Communist-era residential block is the longest residential building in Europe. Greets from Poznań
You're in my city !!! soo cool ;) when it comes to food you should definitely try "Mandu" it a place with pierogi. They have a ton of different flavours and types of pierogi. In the lunch time it might be a bit of wait but it's sooo worth it! And it's only like 10 minute walk from "Long/Długa street" And if you'd like something much more "modern", when my friend from States visited and when i was guiding tours we all really enjoyed "Schopenhauer's" they have waffles and bagels that are great and also very close . If you'd like any more suggestions just write :)
Not sure why I was so hyped up in this video haha, coffee + beer + 8 hours of travel perhaps 🤣

+ Adrianna Szudrzynska Looking forward to it!
Both of the cities are old and have very different character. Gdansk being older and had much more turbulent history . Not many people know or notice but a lot of the main street ( długa street ) like 80%of the historical tenement houses were destroyed and then rebuilt with the historical accuracy. Nec temere, nec timide.
7:31-7:32 Danegar made it almost perfect, Stacey did perfect :)
Most problematic should be letter Ń it sounds almost like "knee" with vowel ending reduced to minimum
Thanks Joe!
Visit Westerplatte, what's your plans after Gdańsk?
Warsaw is next :)
Daneger and Stacey Westerplatte is the place in Gdańsk. It is the place where the WW2 started with the huge monument.
Daneger and Stacey great!! You can't miss the capital ;) I visited in May after maybe 6years and was so great :)
Poland
It is!!
In Gdańs you should try some fresh fried code (dorsz) and herring (śledzie) as starter :) And necessarily go by water tram to the seashore :)
*"Waves from Krakow" .. Enjoy your stay in Gdańsk! Malbork is a must-see location! :)
*"Waves back at ya"* We will be back to Krakow in the future! Also, we're only a small 600km away haha
From a perspective of someone who travels very little, 600km is quite a lot xD. It's great to hear that you'll be back to Krk one day! :)
Trains are my favorite way to move around Poland. They have this serene effect. Planes have the exact opposite effect.
Tend to agree when it's as easy as this day was!
wow your airbnb was near my apartment, I hope you liked 3City, I love your vlogs :)
Loved 3city - thanks!!
Poland is becoming very modern WOW!
Nice you are in Gdansk. Cool. And that cool bulding is Main Train Station in gdansk 😊
We love to travel by train, actually we’re looking n the train right now. It easy and relaxing, if everything goes by plan, and you see the beauty of the countryside, most of the time haha.
Agreed - such a great way to see more of the countryside that a bus or car wouldnt let you see.
Dutch Nomad Couple Try an Trans Syberian i Russia.
That would be something special! We put it on our travel list. Thanks!
And do not forget about the vodka box in your sleeping car because you travel for several days
Nice movie ! Next time you can try the fast train (EIP) - If you buy tickets earlier they are much cheaper. Greetings from Poland !
Should have booked them much more in advance! This trip was super easy though :)
Check out 100cznia and Elektryków street
Planned on it tonight, but then made friends with some locals and got drunk watching Poland play instead :)
I'm traveling by train in Poland very often and belive me..... normaly they don't look like this XD Youre very very lucky!!!!
Haha the one we took to Warsaw was pretty terrible after this video!
Rockstars! Love it.
You seem so positive and switched-on. Greetings from Płock, Poland and if you want to come here one day i can give you a free tour ;)
Thanks for that, we travel often so just roll with the punches if things arent perfect :)
Thanks,
Marg
Drukarnia coffee shop on Mariacka street is well worth a visit 🤟
Things to do:
1. Sopot pier + marina
jeszcze góra gradowa jest w Gdańsku
Very nice presentation, great drone footage, cool behind the scenes, honest and open approach.
Keep it up, a sub from me. Pozdrawiam :)
Thanks for your comments!
You should go Sopot to Zakopane. I believe it is longest route in Poland , and it linking two holiday hotspots.
Guys, one more; You should visit Gdynia (next to Sopot) go to the beach there :) And remember ONE ZAPIEKANKA, but TWO,THREE OR MORE ZAPIEKANKI :)
I like this chilled style more, but if the pace is slower the video has to get longer as well. MOAR please.
Hahaha don't think we could possibly upload any more than we are :P new one tomorrow :)
Which dishes and beers have you tried?
SO. MANY. Did you catch our food vlog?
For sumer time for her beers like Nomono (Soli Piwko brewery), Smoothie (Piwojad brewery) Son of a Birch, Koniec Świata (Pinta Brewery)
For him: Forest, Charlotte (Nepomucen bewery), Session Pineapple Ale (Jan Olbracht brewery) and any Veront IPA
Um ok summer in Poland i'm following ....
We did a food tour and tried LOADS of Polish food :) th-cam.com/video/gkD_6fb3jnQ/w-d-xo.html
The ground rule is: you never take the bus in Poland if you have the option to take the train. You can clearly see why.
I live near the main train station in Cracov i really want to meet you guys you are super nice.
Good luck!
I love Gdańsk. My favorite city in Poland although I live somewhere else. You've got so much more to see there. Next thing I'll do is I'll check if you were in Warszawa already. :)
Yup - Warsaw and Krakow :)
I have just found them and added everything from Poland to watch later :)
Happy to hear that - we've got a Poland playlist if thats easier with about 20 videos!
for sea go to Sopot.
Very good you talk gdańsk. greetings from poznań. :)
Are You going to explore Westerplatte? You can take a ship to there from Gdansk old city :D
Westerplatte is the place where the WWII have started so worth a look :)
Enjoy Your stay !
We're not in Orunia, thats quite a lot further down, we're just opposite the old town really and its actually not that bad at all - easy walk there today in 5-10 minutes so we are happy
ooh ok, so I'm happy for your happiness:D ! Have a good day ^^
7:31 Stacey's pronunciation is right.
I hear "gedańsk" :-D They just can't say g and d together, same as Pole never say Krteček correctly. :-D
And from what I see, you live close to the national museum - worth visiting as well. :) You rented a flat in a bit 'rough' area. :D Should have asks subscribers. :P
Haha booked everything ages ago and had planned on having a car, so saved on the apartment. Not to worry, its only a 5 minute work into town :)
So well done, you guys have a great perspective on traveling! We love trains, sadly there are so few in the Midwest States in the US. 😍😎👫
Thanks so much guys! We actually don't ride trains often, especially while traveling, because Asia doesn't' really have many and we've spent so long there. This was a great experience though, more to come for sure.
Things i liked in Gdańsk out of touristy area:
- 100cznia and ulica elektryków: old shipyard buildings turned into hip place with food, beer, music
- Murals Gdansk Zaspa: blocks of flats with a lot of huge murals around
- Falowiec: Communist-era residential block is the longest residential building in Europe.
Greets from Poznań
Went to Zaspa yesterday :) PLanned on on going to 100cznia but got distracted by the football and drinking with locals instead
I wish I could show you my town, Przemysl, which is placed close to Ukraine. It's a place full of history, definitely worth seeing.
Thanks so much!!~
You need to get pierogi from a place called mandu!!!!! It’s the best thing you will eat
we will miss you!
We're just up the road :P
You have to visit Wrocław. It s really worth it :)
Hi! kuya & ate👋 thanks for the tip on the online ticketing screenshot 👏 👍 take care po👍👍👍
Gdańsk. It is almost like you say it in english but ,, ń " is soft. You pronounce it basically like spanish ,, ñ '' in español for example.
Oh the Spanish twist actually makes it easier for us to understand, thanks
