@krzysztof duszkiewicz You will probably be deeply disappointed, but this is not a Polish home-made train but actually an Italian Pendolino. Pendolino cars also run in many European countries, from the UK and Italy to Switzerland and Finland. So perhaps half of Europe is 'romantically archaic'. The biggest problem with Pendolino was tilting cars, but the ones running in Poland don't have that functionality. On the other hand, PESA trains (PESA is a Polish producer of rolling stock) ordered later on have proved to be extremely unreliable, both those running in Poland and those ordered by other countries. Unfortunately PESA trains turned out to be the most faulty item of equipment on Polish railways (official data on this are widely available). In addition, trains were delivered with enormous delays, so that the value of the penalty for late delivery often exceeded its value. In Germany, PESA trains were simply described as scrap, due to their electronics constantly breaking down. Also, it is really hard call PESA trains a bullet trains as the fastest of them (PESA ELF in the premium option) can reach a maximum of 190 km/h. Moreover, it is not technically possible to replace such a large proportion of the rolling stock as you write within 2 years. The tender process takes a long time, and in addition to building and delivering the trains, it is often necessary to build a whole technical base for their maintenance.

If you guys like cocktails, then you may want to try the 'Warsaw Sling' cocktail at the bar of Raffles Europejski Hotel in Krakowskie Przedmieście.
