Next time can try Tilapia 🐟 as the bones are easier to handle & more skin (normally I prefer white one)...be it steamed, sweet sour, curry style or deep fried (tilapia penyet)...you name it 😁
That food court is very attractive, and there is also a teaching to eat fish, haha! Gathering with friends and eating seafood is a great joy in life, thank you for sharing!👍😃🙌
What an awesome day for 5 foreigners from 3 different countries to have a seafood feast in Sarawak. Ken, it's truly amazing to see you love seafood. Well done and bravo, Ken..💪👍👏
I was delighted when Ken said " This fish is amazing " ... Who would have thought Ken & Steve eating d biggest fish they could have probably eaten ever ... When it comes to food, i guess Malaysia can transform people thru' our cooking & cuisine .... 👍
So good to see you reunited with Steve and Ivan’s again! Now including Dodo explorer! And in my hometown! Can’t wait for your road trip adventure ahead!
Great seafood feast for 5 foreigners. Just could not imagine you having such a meal 2 years ago, now you and Steve are enjoying fish and seafood. 🐟🐟🦐🦐🦐👍👍👍
Glad to see Ken and Steve enjoy the seafood..I am sure your road trip with Jetlag Warriors and Dodo Explorers will uncover more hidden gems and off the beaten tracks in Sarawak..
Oh I recognise this place! Was there but the restaurant was yet opened, so I tried the Sarawak laksa there. Which was recognizably different from the usual laksa / kari in the West Malaysia. So nice to see after so many years the structure is still intact and the food court is still vibrant there too!
Steve and Ken have been missing out on fish for more than 20 years. 😂😂😂 Rm240 for that feast is totally worth it. Red snapper is an awesome fish. But Michael, I’m surprised he eats fish head.. there r plenty of fish head dishes in malaysia. Fish head noodles, fish head curry, steam fish head…
U guys should go to a place called "TELAGA AIR" if u guys wanna try for another seafood menu.. Its more cheaper and its have a kampung vibes with beautiful scenery..
Yup *telaga air* for lunch guys, about ½hr drive out of that city centre. Go to the row of stalls on the left which face the sea or rather the estuary, to the stall in the middle, but clustered in the left wing. Prawns and crabs. Go early, like reach there at 11am. Afterwards visit the row of fruit/snack stalls across the food court, and buy some knick knacks, especially try the various asam/jeruk 😋 (marvellous if the ladies are preggy!) as well as the various local kuihs like denderam, cakar ayam, kuih sepit, etc which you can nibble as you take a leisurely stroll around the dock, watch some guys trying their luck at fishing. Then head to the end of these stalls, and just ahead there's a concrete jetty that regularly has people fishing on it, and many times has people driving and parking 1 or 2 cars on it too. Next to this jetty is a short row of 3 wooden eateries on stilts partly in the waters. Go to either the 1st or the 2nd shop. The 1st has fresh coconut but it closes early (5pm if I remember correctly) and enjoy eating simple dinner like nasi goreng seafood/ayam etc while seated by the window by the waters, with small boats dancing past now and then 😊
Hi Ken, I think you ate wild vegetables for the first time. The vegetable is called fresh midin. My favorite vegetable too. All Sarawakians love midin vegetables.
Finally you guys are here.Glad you guys didnt.miss out this famous seafood in Kuching. This is very famous for locals and foreigners.We.used to eat there at no.25 store.Have fun guys.
Ahhhh.. Seafood, who doesn't love it !!!... Quite a feast ...And yup, Malaysia has made Ken & Steve fall in love with seafood..... As always , stay safe out there. And let's the road trip begin...
Fives buddies devouring a super delicious seafood meal together. The midin jungle fern is one of my favourite too.For your info. it has an excellent source of iron, fiber, antioxidant and etc.Surely it's finger licking good for all.Ken, you have obviously acquired a different tastebud since arriving in M'sia. And bill fits perfectly for the whole sumptuous meal.Looking forward to your road trip and drive safe to all!🇲🇾💕
After fueling up at topspot, you guys should go down and have a stroll to the waterfront, climb up the darul hana bridge and enjoy the evening scenes (and the lit up musical fountain show if it has resumed operation post-covid)
Yes Ken, u r on the right place. One of the most legend eating place u were at, The Top spot, Im 42 and that place has been around even during my child/teenager days.I miss My hometown.
Red Snapper. My favorite fish. Glad you enjoyed it. If you get a chance try mahi-mahi you’ll love it even more. Great choice of vegetables to go with it catch you on the next vlog Ken.
Dear Ken, when we split the bills after the meal, we say, " go Dutch". Truely like the way u lead the team when going Dutch where you make it clear upfront to share the bill and got everybody concurrance on the type of food to be shared. Have a wonderful and pleasent stay in the " Land of the hornbill" & enjoy Malaysian hospitality.
Hi Ken enjoy your seat food. I think it is across the river. Very interesting. I love it there but my best seafood gala was at Mabul Island. Morning and evening the sea gypsy people came to the homestay and offer real cheap fresh seafood. We even bought lobster....asked the cook to cook for is. But Kuching is also interesting as well as KK
i miss midin... this is very difficult to find here in peninsular malaysia. but even if i am able to find it, i have never cook any midin all my life... 🤣 my job is to eat. 🤣 king river prawn, also sedap grilled, plain. my mouth is watering.... Ken, when it comes to food, both you and steve really improved a lot... 👍 maybe you will like durian eventually? 😁
Wow..that are incredible 5 of u in Kuching 👏👏👏👍😊. Welcome 2 my home town...geeezzz 😪😭😢.That veges are a wild fern without any fertilizers.A remedy for *cleansing our intestines* .Next , go for local restaurant bcos Sarawak crusines are totally from west Malaysia. Its not spicy .Ask for *terung asam* a kind of *brinjal* but its sour.Only can be found in Borneo.Go to *sweet kangs* in Satok its a dessert shop that sale local desserts.N dont forget to eat *satay krepen with mee jawa* too.Mainly found in the morning bcos its for breakfast like mee kolok n laksa.Go to Satok , as far as i knew *Kopi O tarik* n the eateries in that area do open in the morning.Next,go for *malay eatery* or restaurant bcos the taste are more authentic.Dont mistaken with *javanese eatery* bcos sometimes they do sale *malay* crusine but with Javanese touch 🤭😅.One more thing😉😇✌..go for *ice cream gula apong n kek lapis* .The ladies sure will love it 🤭 if they both are sweet tooth .Enjoy. _just cant mention long long lists of food f u guys_ 😄
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video. Wow, d fresh seafood looked very good. USD55 for five people, that's quite cheap. What was your fav seafood that day?
Yo Mike is eating the head like he's local wtheck. Also it took them one year and them leaving the country for Steve and Ken to finally smile while eating a fish XD.
you guys can do road trip to Sematan which is the very end of Sarawak (kinda)? cause there is the start of kilometer 0 at Telok Melano beach. Yall can have night stop at Lundu or Bau cause chalet there was nice. It took 2 hours+ to go to Sematan, Telok Melano from Kuching. also There's Fairy Cave and Tasik Biru in Bau yall should check out! You need to start the day early for sure especially if you want to stop at Bau, Lundu and Sematan in one day :) but it was worth it!
