Hey Sonny, I'm a Malaysian and I just wanted to let you know that the 'noodles' you ate at 22:22 aren't actually noodles! It's a dish called roti jala, it's basically something similar to a pancake batter which is piped into a pan in a certain way that creates the lace or 'noodle' effect. My mum would make it for me as a kid and I would eat it with curry or sometimes condensed milk!
Malaysian here as well. roti jala literally means "net bread". jala is net and roti is self explanatory. its not something you commonly find everywhere but its definitely one of my favourites and i love it with chicken curry.
I just gotta say something... Alright, so I'm 26 and I live down here in TX. I grew up watching Anthony Bourdain, & had the opportunity to meet him when he came down to Burns BBQ here in Houston. I must say you remind me so much of him.... I was raised by a grandma who I'd love to help cook all the time which got me into cooking & cooking shows at an early age. There's literally only 3 other TH-camrs & 1 chef I watch not including you, but you bring the world to people like me who will probably never be able to travel and experience what you do. You do such a great job at showing the world not only different foods but culture, places, ect. in a fun way. I've been watching your videos for a long time, and have had this on my mind while watching every video so I just had to let you know. Please keep up the great work you're doing.

Hello Sonny. This Scotsman served in the British Army in Malaya during the Malay Emergency, which later morphed into the Indonesian Confrontation of Malaysia in the 1960s. I served in Malaya for 2 years and in that time; I became "HOOKED" on Char Kway Teow. I ate it at every opportunity and today I love in Australia where my wife and I visit a Malaysian Restaurant in Melbourne, Victoria Australia to have our weekly "hit" of CHAR KWAY TEOW. We pay *AUD$16.50* fore a plate of that delicious meal which translates to 51.49 Malaysian Ringits, and in Malaysia, you paid (I presume USD 1.50) that translates to 7.17 Malaysian Ringits. To be honest with you, Malaysian food is not my favourite HOWEVER, I could eat Char Kway Teow every day and never get sick of it. Cheers mate!
@@4n4Queen Hello. I disagree! First and foremost, Chinese restaurants here in Australia have no idea who to cook Char Kway Teow. They use a lot of crap for ingredients. I have seen some put carrot, chinese cabbage et al into the dish which tastes like shite. We go to proper Malaysian Restaurants here, and I tell the chef exactly what I want in it, as per the ingredients used by Chef in Malaysia, and yes, I do agree with you that when made exactly as they do in Malaya, *NOTHING CAN COMPARE!* CHEERS1
