If you don't convert the currency, you'll come to realise how expensive is Malaysian food for Malaysians.
Yeah they really need to think of it as rm1=1usd in term of value locally .. you can get a decent burger for 5usd in america same with malaysia rm5 for a decent burger.. rm 5 is around 1usd+ so it's not really a same comparison when they think of is a literal conversion rate.
@@ThePhiloSpheres Where are you finding good $5 burgers? I'm in middle Tennessee, one of the cheapest places in the country, yet you're lookin at a cool $10.99-14.99 for a "good" burger.
@@JTP1999 Don't mind them, most Malaysians don't understand that other countries are dealing with inflation, even worse than in Malaysia. Most people that I know are complaining about the government not tackling the inflation problem well but they don't realize that other countries like Thailand, Singapore and Brunei are having very bad inflation to the point that they have to shop in countries with weaker currency.
thats like.. no shit lmao
like 1 usd = 16000 indonesian rp ofc its gonna look expensive xD
Hey Sonny, I'm a Malaysian and I just wanted to let you know that the 'noodles' you ate at 22:22 aren't actually noodles! It's a dish called roti jala, it's basically something similar to a pancake batter which is piped into a pan in a certain way that creates the lace or 'noodle' effect. My mum would make it for me as a kid and I would eat it with curry or sometimes condensed milk!
Very informative #SonnyFan
Malaysian here as well. roti jala literally means "net bread". jala is net and roti is self explanatory. its not something you commonly find everywhere but its definitely one of my favourites and i love it with chicken curry.
yess roti jala maklimah biadab
Best if local person can explain their dishes, only then we can get real understanding of what it is.
The fact that we get free videos from SONNY on TH-cam is priceless.., keeping the knowledge and entertainment alive. 🙏🙏🙏
Sonny the best!
I saw the exact same comment on a diffrent video, and the fact that your copying comments is crazy
He dips it in the ditches
Sonny my man.
What are you talking about, the fact that we watch his videos funds his lifestyle. the 1m+ views here paid for the food and holiday in this video
I just gotta say something... Alright, so I'm 26 and I live down here in TX. I grew up watching Anthony Bourdain, & had the opportunity to meet him when he came down to Burns BBQ here in Houston. I must say you remind me so much of him.... I was raised by a grandma who I'd love to help cook all the time which got me into cooking & cooking shows at an early age. There's literally only 3 other TH-camrs & 1 chef I watch not including you, but you bring the world to people like me who will probably never be able to travel and experience what you do. You do such a great job at showing the world not only different foods but culture, places, ect. in a fun way. I've been watching your videos for a long time, and have had this on my mind while watching every video so I just had to let you know. Please keep up the great work you're doing.
Get a T-shirt! I have two😊
So what you are saying is that Africans and muzzies are bad for cooking lifestyle. Yup, noted.
I hope you watch Chef Jean-Pierre, he’s great
Well said! And gotta tell ya, I'm from Houston too 😊😊
I pray you get to travel the world and experience foods
Can we please get a spin-off show, ‘The two Sunny’s’ where you just take Chef Sunny on your travels to try food?!
Sonny and Sunny

Malaysia has some of the best food in Asia! Great video bro!
Malaysia also has calamansi, which is an Asian lime. They're not kumquats, which are oblong, golden, and sweet.

I couldn’t believe what I was seeing I had to rewind 😂🤮
The oysters at the start have 100% gone bad too because she had them out the shell sitting in some water container xD Oysters die the minute they are out the shell and go bad so quickly
I got a bad case of diarrhea watching this
I. COULD. DIE!!!

That dip of stingray to dish washing water 😂
“Sadly, I don’t have a hangover. But, Wait! I could get one, tomorrow.” Pure genius. 😁
Sonny cracks me up 😂 love this channel ❤
I am not an easy guy but after watching your food’s videos and other food’s videos, I am admitted that you are successful and your videos are top rated: funny, well narrative, colorful, good foods, weird foods(sometimes), international and every video is a lesson to learn for the next culinary experiences. Thanks and congratulations for the job well done and see you in the next food’s video 😊
Howdy Sonny! Found your channel recently, i'm now addicted. Have been binge watching your back catalogue. Keep up the great work. Cheers from Australia!

I love Malaysian food. Wish there are more Malaysian restaurants in my country. I would love to make a review blog about them! Most here doesn't feel much authentic.

Wow I love the humor and the vibe of the whole show. Wonderful! ❤
Been visiting Asia for 30 years and Malaysia has hands down the best street food, although Thailand and Singapore come close.

Thank you for the wonderful video of the Malaysian food stall marathon 👍
Love your shows! Sometimes I think I hear some of that Bourdain humour too. Keep up the amazing work!
There is less propaganda in here, as opposed to the blatant US propaganda in Parts Unknown.
Bourdain was a high end wordsmith. Sonny is just funny not serious like Bourdain 😊
A repost? Maybe Sonny hasn't financially recovered from Antarctica trips 😂

So glad I went to Malaysia last year. Delicious food 😊
Hello Sonny. This Scotsman served in the British Army in Malaya during the Malay Emergency, which later morphed into the Indonesian Confrontation of Malaysia in the 1960s. I served in Malaya for 2 years and in that time; I became "HOOKED" on Char Kway Teow. I ate it at every opportunity and today I love in Australia where my wife and I visit a Malaysian Restaurant in Melbourne, Victoria Australia to have our weekly "hit" of CHAR KWAY TEOW. We pay *AUD$16.50* fore a plate of that delicious meal which translates to 51.49 Malaysian Ringits, and in Malaysia, you paid (I presume USD 1.50) that translates to 7.17 Malaysian Ringits. To be honest with you, Malaysian food is not my favourite HOWEVER, I could eat Char Kway Teow every day and never get sick of it. Cheers mate!
By the time these comes around I already forgot all the shorter videos, it's like watching them for the first time again!

The cheap buffet was amazing for that pricepoint its insane value. The owner was very humble, it must basicly be a charity
This suits the word "perfect and good job" 😍😍

Malaysia is now on my list to visit
So did we just toss the eastern shore board seafood travel adventure? I’ve lived in every state all the way down to FL so I was so looking forward to that series. Love y’all….. I Trust the Process
western food has a very interesting backstory of how it started. haha
youre right. basically a bunch of chinese chefs saw pics of what a western food is back in the day and came up with those. hahaha.
but hey, out of that we get delicious cuisine!
Just half way through this video, I'll get back to it but... I had to stop and get myself over the laughing about your jokes and humor and the side splitting photo flashes!!!!! This is perfect!!!!
Is this a compilation of past videos all into one long form video ?
I would say yes as I have seen this all before
Honestly this is like the 4th video of his I've seen where he does this. Takes old footage and puts it up in one long video and pretends like it's new.
@@Kent11371 thats why its on the 2nd channel
@@birdonapowerlineTheir India channel does it too...
Sonny can upload 2 hours of 1 video and I can watch it everyday without getting bored.
I was at a Chinese funfair in Kranuan (NE Thailand) last year and a stall was selling oyster omelettes. It was the biggest, longest queue there and they were amazing. Well worth queueing.
"Sonny & Sonny - Goin Toghther" new series! im all in for that lol
Your one hella of a funny guy man !! Really made my day watching this video. Welcome to my country hope you like it. Please come back there's more food for u to try
I dig up my peppers, tomatoes, herbs, lettuces, onions everything I have room to winterize.Thank You Misty & Colby Green time is my favorite season .Keep on keeping on ❤
We are in times of self sustaining knowledge & sharing our knowledge with each other
The Lacey pancake is called roti jala, usually eaten with coconutty based curry , super yum.
Husb came across your YT last night. N we watched 3 4 episodes in a row. You should come to Negeri Sembilan to try their Daging Salai Masak Lemak Cili Api. Then Malacca to try out their Asam Pedas, Johor for their Laksa Johor. Kelantan for their Nasi Kerabu, Terengganu for their Nasi Dagang, Pahang Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak. N Sabah n Sarawak for their local cuisine.
Im not sure if you've tried any of these dishes. But in Malaysia, each state have their own special dish.
Great job. Entertaining. The kind that does not show much of how the host munches into the mouth. You did that just quick and fine with the clear description of the food taste. Not a mukbang (as i just learned what it was an hour ago) type of video. Nice humour too.
Eating dim sum with chili jam, Jamie Oliver would be proud.
