Season 1. Definitely went harder. 2 got off track, and season 3 couldn't pull up fast enough to avoid the crash. At least xfiles gave a wrap up episode.
Season 2 got Jose Chung, Somehow Satan and Curse of Frank Black which are all incredible, Christmas special was also great. However Season 1 is such a rock solid consistency. Gotta be season 1.
Watching that chunk fly off then hearing you say “okay guess we’re gonna put some grass tufts on then” 😂 made me feel a lot better about all the times I break sh*t on my models on accident ❤
Some pro tips for anyone doing those tomb king bases: While the filler is drying you can place your minis in it to create footprints - and create the spot where the mini will stand which adds some believable weight to your minis, and helps with glueing. The filler reactivates with water, this is great for sculpting, cleanup, and adding more details later - but you do need to prime it before going in with paint! Adding water to your tools, or the feet of minis, is handy for sculpting.
Looks great! As I've been getting into Warcry, basing vids like this are quite useful as the skirmish games are a good way to play with different basing terrain.
Damnit Tony!!! I was painting fine details when Tony started up with the stutters and mistakes.... laughed my way into repainting a good portion of my fig! Good stuff, love it!
Well done on the skeleton archers bow string, I've gotten into using fly tying wire. to me it's easier to handle than string or fishing line and it can be colored.
Based video! Genuinely good looking bases. Square bases seem to offer a little more space for basing than round bases, too. And when ranked up should look even more impressive.
Lovely stuff. Very effective in the final shots. Got me thinking re my pointy eared boys and their upcoming re homing on inch square bases. I phwoared at the mini natur stuff. Fuck me I need to get out a bit more.
I think it’s like a foliage bush thing from woodland scenics. It’s not the fine leaf foliage or anything like that, but it’s similar! All I can currently remember bud!
Hey Dave! Love the idea, but do you have any tips for making those sand bases so that the wheels from the chariots makes tracks behind them? When you just stick them on it looks like the chariot is hovering on top of the sand.
I’m torn about basing Tomb kings with desert or just make it same as all the others, I think they will look a bit wierd during gameplay if they are all differently based
6:53 *me head down painting* Dave: "made for lizard tanks" *my brain: "Drive closer Chimalma, I want to hit them with my Macuahuitl!".* *me raising my head and sees bark* "Oh. Of course glass tanks for lizards, not Lizards preforming a blitz krieg." *Sigh*
Do you find that your minis come off the bases often with super glue? This is the main hurdle for me getting creative with bases because they become to flimsy on the attachment to the base. Maybe I'm using bad glue?
Nice basing! I panned the old world for a number of reasons. The chief one is I was getting started in Warhammer with both of those factions when they nuked the setting and game. I cannot stress how beyond p*ssed that made me. I quit GW games after that. The second reason is the prices in the part of the world I am in are nothing short of extortion levels for old models. Just not worth it in my opinion. You also have to worry about how long before GW cans this game and screws the people who bought miniatures for it? Anyway enough rambling great basing ideas.
---> *_FFS....I thought you were on hiatus, but no, it's that YT bug that unsubscribes from random channels._* *_Then, later, days, weeks, months, YT recommends the channel it unsubscribed for you._* *_You are not the first that has been un-subscribed by YT; I think it's close to 40 channels now past 2 years._* *_I have now re-sub'd to your channel._*
GW killed any momentum they could have got with this game as you can't buy the rules. I don't understand how you can release a game and not have the rules available to buy. Rant over, cool bases.
I cringe so hard when you just empty your bottles on your base/model. The irony of using "two thin coats" and then dumping half the bottle on your shit
MillenniuM shirt invites the question: Season 1 or Season 2?
Season 1. Definitely went harder. 2 got off track, and season 3 couldn't pull up fast enough to avoid the crash. At least xfiles gave a wrap up episode.
S2 had Jose chung and "somehow Satan" which are all time great eps for me
Season 2 got Jose Chung, Somehow Satan and Curse of Frank Black which are all incredible, Christmas special was also great. However Season 1 is such a rock solid consistency. Gotta be season 1.
Lance is such an awesome guy in person too. A shame they didn’t get a proper wrap up.
Watching that chunk fly off then hearing you say “okay guess we’re gonna put some grass tufts on then” 😂 made me feel a lot better about all the times I break sh*t on my models on accident ❤
It’s just so nice to see square bases. Makes me all misty and nostalgic.
It’s my first time doing them properly! Definitely a bit of a head scrambler

Thanks for the tip chief !
Great video! Love it.
Is it wrong that the thing I'm enjoying most watching this is the music? It's really nice.
My brother in Dreads. Keep rockin' as ya please.
To Poundland!
Also, that t-shirt is impeccable!
Aye was a good find!
"I guess we're putting some tufts on now" - Had me in stitches!
Not right now babe MS paints just uploaded !!
Way to go to the next level.
Nice job Dave. That little bit of color really seals the deal on those bases.
Cheers mate!
Simple but effective! I really love the way you did the sand dunes. They're very pretty on their own and really bring the tomb kings to, uh, unlife!
I will always watch Tomb King content. Good stuff.
Your very talented dude
Inspired and wonderful work on these gorgeous and realistic bases, thumbs up and thanks for sharing!
Cheers Phil!
Those bases look great. Especially the sandy one.
Looks great! As I've been getting into Warcry, basing vids like this are quite useful as the skirmish games are a good way to play with different basing terrain.
Great game for experimenting with bases indeed!
Great video! Nice to see some simple basing techniques that produce great results!
A great looking base really ties your figures together. I love what you did there, and with such inexpensive materials. Well done!
Cheers Nerves! Keeping t cheap and cheerful!
Very kool bases. ❤
Damnit Tony!!! I was painting fine details when Tony started up with the stutters and mistakes.... laughed my way into repainting a good portion of my fig! Good stuff, love it!
merci Dave !!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 et gros bisous a Hector 😘😘😘😘😘🐸🐸🐸🐸🐸
Top tips mate, forever trying to improve my basing skills, very handy stuff and beautifully shot as always
Cheeeeeers Slime! Love a base, always finishes a project up something tidy!
Excellent work as always, keep it up.
That’s for the super mate! Much appreciated! 🐸❤️
Love those desert bases!
I’m having a desert bases for my tyranids. That’s the perfect video for me! Thank dude!
Well done on the skeleton archers bow string, I've gotten into using fly tying wire. to me it's easier to handle than string or fishing line and it can be colored.
Just wow. That was beautiful to watch and the final product was great too!
Beautiful job. Thanks!!!
As someone that likes to have things planned out this video is a godsend for me as I’m just cracking my box open
These look great Dave, brilliant video as always.
Cheers Dave!
Tip top tute 👍
Also, particularly enjoyed 'techernickle' and 'undulations'... again.
Useful for the forthcoming Silver Bayonet : Egypt supplement too. Cheers.
Good shout!
Thanks for the content Dave
Thanks for watching!
"I need some chilled hobby-something to watch while stick all of these Orks to painting handles", finds Dave making bases, perfect!
Love a basing video and really enjoyed the use of levels in it!
Dude, those desert bases were awesome. Totally using that somewhere
Aye mate! It’ll work for snow and poooooossibly even water too
@@MSPaints I figured it would work for snow, but water I had not thought of. Maybe like along a shoreline....
Right, I'm off down Poundland for some of that filler!
Great stuff as always 🤟🏻
Love it as always dude. I came for the wonderful shots and sultry tones and thoroughly enjoyed watching base's being made
Thanks Elston!
Where the heck have I been, so much to catch up on! I love these.
That chariot base is awesome! I don't need dessert bases but may need to find a reason for some. OR try a similar style on snow bases.
Aye that might work real nice for snow!
Gothic 3 soundtrack!!! Always hype! And another lovely video i guess ;)
Great ideas....deffo going to try that sand effect
Always good tutorials and amusing besides. Appreciate it
Great basing ideas thanks, It was good to meet you at Chillcon for a quick chat at the weekend.
stunning bro
Awesome Dave FairPlay
amazing bases man, will be using these!
Im always impressed by your willingness to experiment! Great vid again, bases look great.
Nice work.
Dang, that sand dune chariot base alone makes me want to start a Tomb King army.
Yeah I kinda wanna do more!
Really like these bases!
lovely stuff
Awesome video and an awesome soundtrack (Gothic 3)
Based video!
Genuinely good looking bases.
Square bases seem to offer a little more space for basing than round bases, too. And when ranked up should look even more impressive.
Props for getting to say undulations
Always a treat when I get to say it!
Love your videos
Nothing like a nice undulation.
Gotta grab myself some of the filler now 😆. Great video like always boss.
Old world ❤
Where can I like & subscribe to the Slip and Slide channel?
absolutely ace! Do you mind sharing what mininatur product you used? I went over to their site, but it's a little hard to decipher. Thanks!
What models are the tomb kings from?
Honestly can’t remember. They’re easy to find on my mini factory though.
Great video again. What music is playing?
Lovely stuff. Very effective in the final shots. Got me thinking re my pointy eared boys and their upcoming re homing on inch square bases. I phwoared at the mini natur stuff. Fuck me I need to get out a bit more.
Where’s that tall shrub from on the peasant base? It’s hard to find tall tufts and it looks super dope!
When you just stick them on it looks like the chariot is hovering on top of the sand.
nice! ...OCD alert: no wheel tracks
Shouldn't the Bretonnian base have ... a nice bit of shrubbery?
I’m torn about basing Tomb kings with desert or just make it same as all the others, I think they will look a bit wierd during gameplay if they are all differently based
Depends on who you play against and what surface you’re playing on tbh!
A video about square bases cannot be sponsored by anything other than squarespace
Desert base is great , maybe a faster way to do the undulation is pva glue amd bog roll let that dru apply the filler.
What browns did you use for the 2nd base? Maybe I missed it :o
6:53 *me head down painting*
Dave: "made for lizard tanks"
*my brain: "Drive closer Chimalma, I want to hit them with my Macuahuitl!".*
*me raising my head and sees bark*
"Oh. Of course glass tanks for lizards, not Lizards preforming a blitz krieg."
*Sigh*
I was hoping for a lizard tank joke earlier! Thank you, i can sleep at night now!
Do you find that your minis come off the bases often with super glue? This is the main hurdle for me getting creative with bases because they become to flimsy on the attachment to the base. Maybe I'm using bad glue?
Yeah sometimes. Depends how big the point of contact is. I don’t use accelerator on it as that can often be a weak bond. Usually no problems though!
Where’s the ground cover from?
UNDULATIONS 🥵🥵🥵

UNDULATIONS! Never has Dave sounded more Jamaican.
How tall is Tony? It looks like his head is almost touching the ceiling. Must be imposing to work with.
Reaaaaaaal low ceilings haha
being the absolute nuthead I am I also use filler for the bases... mixed with cheap acryls and PVA glue (that adds durability in my experience)

When can I buy that PRNVKY pickle as a sticker? I want to tell all my friends that hredy apned jonde
No seriously
Yeah I think they need to be on red bubble or something!
I’m just too lazy for this.
12 hours
GW killed any momentum they could have got with this game as you can't buy the rules. I don't understand how you can release a game and not have the rules available to buy. Rant over, cool bases.
Sounds like that towers in time card game I covered !
I cringe so hard when you just empty your bottles on your base/model. The irony of using "two thin coats" and then dumping half the bottle on your shit
That’s just how we do things in the terrain world. Glue gun in one hand, tube of paint and a brush in the other. There is no cowardice here!
Really? People won't stop talking about tow around here.
More so on TH-cam, mate. Hobby groups are still buzzing about it!
Great vid 👏
