Yeah, the T Rex is the oversized chicken cos birds *are* dinosaurs, while the quetzamahoojit is possibly flying, definitely winged, and definitely not a dinosaur. And the T Rex should have a full coat of feathers. Dunno about the quetzilibob though, I've seen things recently about azhdarkids but I can't remember if they're feathered. Or whether lankyboi is an azhdarkid or just looks like one to my untrained eye. (I blame the beer, just started a new job and my brain was melting under the load. Beer is fixing this. Mmm, beer!)
My father read “Dinotopia” to me as a child, so this project left me with particularly warm-and-fuzzy feels. I’m an adult now, though, so Tony D’s segment was thoroughly entertaining as well.
Hey dude, you really knocked it out of the park for this video. The tony segment gave me a giggle and the rest of the painting tutorial gave me something to try. Great work mate 👍
There isn’t a better channel on TH-cam for hobby and overall entertainment. I can’t click new uploads fast enough. From a fellow differently abled person, keep it up Dave 👊🏻
I've loved your videos since I started watching them last year and love them still. I can't paint anymore but I can still enjoy seeing what's going on in the miniature world
Once again your skill is beyond my ability you turn models into life like figures your TH-cam channel is both educational and entertaining at the same time thumbs up look forward to seeing your next video
Okay I wasn’t ready for Tony Around the World and I love you for it. Love the painting too, I like painting 10mm scale ones from Magister Militum as a palette cleanser :)
Skill and method are two different things, and I feel like method in the long run is the side of the coin that matters. THIS makes the hobby accessible to all, I just assumed a steady hand and good coordination would move mountain to me and I floundered for years. Seeing you git gud on top of the production values you've maintained is an absolute joy pal.
I've seen this model around Etsy for a while now. Lord of the Print's stuff looks so good! This was great to see because I often find those minis kinda intimidating to paint.
Fantastic miniature, beautiful paint job, atmospheric music, funny segments and awesome cinematography. Really loved this video! I especially like the iridescent look you achieved on the beak. The mini made me think of the dinotopia books by James Gurney.
This is a good demonstration of how far your painting has progressed, came out great 🤟I had a dinosaur project planned, but it's never made it further than windows notepad, your video just set the wheels in motion, so, thank you, Brother.
Beautiful job man, as always. The two main reasons I love this channel are that it feels like watching chilled out, grown up TH-cam, and also the perennial appreciation of prehistoric mega-fauna. Also, is Tony alright?
Great video thank you. Please give some thought to doing a whole series of videos on 'Cadillacs and Dinosaurs' including a board, forces, and writing your own bespoke rules.
Beautiful work, man! The Tony part had me rolling laughing, since I grew up near Chicago and he sounds like a Chicago guy trying to sound like a New Yorker. It's kinda common
Really wish I had the eyesight needed to get those fine lines, maybe next month I take some time away from buying plastic and invest in a trip to the Optician! Thanks for the shout out re: Hector and Tony.
First of all: this has me REALLY wanting to do some interesting takes on my genestealers, and I think you might have just inspired my designs for them... Second, on an unrelated note, wanted to say that I just received my Bonefields minis with your Hector and Tony figures, and I'm absolutely stoked. Everything about the game is awesome, love the custom minis. The whole game fits into my skirmish game back with everything else and it's going to go to all the FLGS's with me now.
For the first half I was like, “aww man, this video seems lower energy and pizzazz than normal. Like there doesn’t seem to be an X factor to this one, seems pretty straightforward…” and then I reached the halfway point. That does it, I’m joining the Patreon.
First, catch your dinosaur. That is such a weird looking creature. It, once again, proves the old adage, that truth will always be stranger than fiction, because fiction has to make sense. The "Hey Tony" theme song is so cool. Also, his mastery of the English Language is so impressive, "Tenplates" and "Techernickle" 😄 "It's like a giraffe with a fukin' scythe on its face" 😄 With those wibbly lines on its face, it reminds me of a Chris Foss spaceship paint job. Very cool.
Off topic question. Ages ago you talked about a cap for your thumb to protect yourself when using blades. I've recently got a new knife and I find myself cutting into my fingers way more due to the way it's angled. I've found some online which look like the ones you used but want to make sure I'm searching for the right thing and get something that will be protective and not turn out to be essentially a woolly hat and stop bugger all. Great informative piece from Tony btw.
Fire me the link to them over insta or something. I still only have the one I got given so don’t have a link to buy them. But I’ll compare how they look.
10:25 - "Scientists" who argue that Quetzalcoatlus and other giant Pterosaurs couldn't even fly need to brush up on the basics of evolutionary biology. It wouldn't have retained such massive wings if they hadn't been an advantageous feature for survival. Anyways, great painting and the model isn't too shabby after watching the episode on this animal by "Your Dinosaurs Are Wrong" here on TH-cam. Great channel!
I like this video, and I find it extremely funny you managed to sneak in a Q reference but kept calling it a dinosaur when it technically wasn't one lol
I'm trying to work out whether you went to great time and effort to script, film and edit the Tony segment just to support your excellent painting of a dinosaur, or whether you took the time and care to print and paint (not in an easy way either) a dinosaur simply to launch the Tony segment for future videos. Whichever is true, your commitment and skill in both endeavours remains compelling.
Really slick paintjob! Little video tip, if you wanna make most of your video on a 2.39 aspect ratio you're probably better of working on a 3840x1608 timeline and export, and fit your 4/3 and 16/9 stuff onto that rather the other way around. Its gonna look better on yotube because the plataform won't add two vertical bars on both sides on the video (this happens only on theater mode, it doesn't matter on default but why would anyone not use theater anyways?). Plus it will render faster.
Thank you for the tip! I’ll give this a shot. TH-cam is really picky about its aspect ratios though, and doesnt let me add an end card if it’s not in a forced 16:9, which is a shame. Otherwise I’d go with my native 1.5 de squeeze
I have to admit I was thinking 'its a pterosaur' all through the video and tried my best not comment on it. But here i am 😂. Loved the video. The tony section was incredible ❤

I gotta say it. I can't help it. It's not a dinosaur- it's a flying reptile.

Hey Tony! Is a fascinating rod you've made for your back there.
Thanks, F*cko!

This is how i planned to paint all my squigs, make a roll table for color pallets and randomly paint all the squigs in different styles.
Best-looking quetzalcoatlus on the interwebs. And Tony's segment ... so educationamal!
The only TH-cam channel where I jump to the sponsor chapter first
Haha! You get ten minutes of it in the next video.
seen this one 6 times ...Bu Bu byye now !
Your videos just keep getting better and better! The Tony segment was freaking awesome! Please do more of those!
Cheers mate!
Definitely need more Tony discussing the merits of what “scientists” have to say. That was brilliant!
'Hey Tony' was the highlight of my week. Tears running, sides ache.
