      Most of them can't climb glass, and so they can be kept quite safely. I have owned Androctonus, Centruroides and Leiurus species, without any concerns. In the UK you have to own a Dangerous Animals licence to own these scorpions.

      Had one of my male p regalis escape once and he was camped out in my bedroom for two days before he decided to make himself seen to be brought back to his tank. Pretty intense two days haha!

      @haxan6663 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@DisparityOfBeliefAndTruth I lost a P. regalis one evening while I was feeding and watering my, at the time, very large collection. I had sprayed the regalis viv and then couldn't see the spider. Carried on with the others and then it occurred to me that she might have come out of viv and actually be on me. I checked in the bathroom mirror, and there she was in the centre of my back, where I couldn't reach her! I had to wait for about 10 minutes, until she walked up to a point where I could scoop her up and return her to the viv!

    What makes Death Stalkers so interesting, is that their Venom has the most Compounds of any Scorpion.
    They are called "Death-Stalkers", because they have a Compound that will work for Any Animal on the planet.

    For the halogen bulbs (really any light bulbs, but especially halogen), it’s best to not handle them with your bare hands and to wear gloves any time you touch them. The reason is because the oils in your hands will contaminate and etch into the glass, causing the bulb to heat unevenly which will make it burn out much faster, and this could be part of why you are having trouble with the bulbs lasting only a short time. Disposable latex or nitrile gloves are recommended for this. I learned this working for an auto mechanic shop when we would have to replace the halogen headlights on vehicles. Hope this helps.

    Bro I have videos of my scorpion taking a locust, then charging out for more and taking a second before aggressively chasing my hand out of his enclosure not stoping till the door is closed… holding 1 in his mouth and 1 in his claw then putting both in his mouth and eating two at a time.. I have a awesome scorpion. Afraid he will change now he is currently molting to full adult

  • @mikhailmaladushny2048
    @mikhailmaladushny2048 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    3:25 You have replaced light bulb with your hands, when you do that, you leave oil residue on the light bulb and it makes your bulbs burn out faster (or potentially shatter). You want to use some sort of protection when changing bulbs out.

    I always wanted a Deathstalker for years as it can be found in my home country, and is a very deadly beast. My uncle found this out and ranted at me for a literal hour about how stupid that would be without knowledge of how serious a sting from one is. I admire those that can handle and manage deadly animals, but thank god my uncle talked some sense into a 16 year old me years ago. 😂
    Great video! I love your setup and appreciate the look at these brutally beautiful creatures! I hope to have my own some day, admittedly to a less dangerous level.

    As a true scorpio, I have tons of love for those pesky little buggers. When I was a kid, I had a pet Emperor Scorpion named Betty. She was a sweetheart. I miss turning off my bedroom light, turning on my blacklight, throwing on some good music, and just hanging out with her all night. Sometimes we would stay up late together and watch Beavis and Butthead and Mtv2. Her favorite snack was moon crickets. R.I.P. Betty. You are truly missed. 🦗 📺 🦂

    Secret to knowing if a scorpion is dangerous and it to look at the pincers first, the closer the pincers match the size of their arms then look at the tail, then fatter the tail the more deadly. The reason why I say pincers first is due to the fact that large scorpions with big pincers may have seemingly large tails. Also, if the scorpions is hiding you will see the pincers well before seeing the tail.

    I used to live in the Florida Keys; one night a red scorpion crawled onto my face, and stung me in my eyebrow. It felt like a bee sting, but several hours later I was vomiting, my joints were aching, I had a migraine, and the skin of my face where I got stung was hanging down like I had a bad stroke. The skin actually hung over my eye! I wound up having to go to the hospital where they have me a couple of shots, and some pills. I started feeling better later in the day, and then the next day I felt okay again... Ironically, I'm a Scorpio.

    Its amazing as my mate is in the army and he knew I kept scorps, so sent me a photo of an Arabian fat tail whilst he was in the middle east. The soldiers had not been told (whilst playing with these scorps), that they were deadly. Luckily, I was able to reply and tell him and his mates how lethal those animals were amnd not to go near them, and properly check their boots. They didnt play with them anymore thankfully. But the hireachy would likely not have told the new guys after my mate. I was shocked.

    I remember a terrarium dealer in my town who had an Algerian Sahara scorpion give birth, and the babies got out through the ventilation strip. The guy ended up getting stung, ended up in the hospital for 3 months, lost his licence and had to close his shop. He was kind of an irrepressible douche, honestly. Had several venomous snake mishaps before the scorpion incident. I once assisted him in getting a 4 meter king cobra back in its enclosure. Needless to say, that was a little more adventures than I'd bargained for when I went out to get some feeder crickets.
    Moral of the story: never get complacent around these animals.
