Hi Dave, it was fantastic to meet you yesterday at the show, I'm the guy that bought the feather legged baboon that was a little feisty 😂 just wanted to let you know that I got her put in her new home hassle free and she is absolutely beautiful, thank you so much for her and for everything you do for the hobby 👍👍
@@daveslittlebeasties Just seen bits from that awesome show and seen You too guys 🤩 and now i'm really wondering how could I get one of those cool t-shirts 🤔 could be as simple as it was with the calendars ? Thanks in advance 🙏
I once got a Centruroides hentzi from an HVAC repair man you caught it after getting stung by it when he was working on an a/c system. Brought it to me in a jar. I look a little terrarium with some pine bark and needles and put it in there. Dropped a couple of baby crickets in there and never saw it for two weeks. Lifted up the pine bark and there she was, with scorplings on her back. Perfect little replicas, but white like these. Had them for a long time.
This is the first time I’ve seen a baby scorpion, and I never would have believed I would find them so adorable. I hope that they (and mum!) continue to thrive, and I look forward to seeing them again! Thank you for sharing! ☺️💜
I've had this happen before it's a lovely surprise and have actually seen mum feed on a cricket and some babies joining in amazing to see. Brilliant video dave and camera lady
Those babies are ridiculously cute! Every scorpion video makes me love them a bit more, which feels shocking given how unsettled they used to make me even just a couple months ago.
I really enjoy your scorpion content you have really grabbed my attention and I feel as though I want to spread my wings and just get one, I think you have removed all the scary stuff! Thank you for always being passionate about many different animals! ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤
Hi Dave and Camera Lady 💙💕🕷️ 🦂 Hope you’re both well. That was a very interesting and informative video. I loved seeing the wee babies 😊 and the clip of them being on their mothers back at the start was adorable. Mummy scorpion was keen on escaping her new abode 😂 That was a decent number of babies she had, I don’t know how many in average that species would have either! Lovely footage from Camera Lady too❤ You never disappoint with your content 😊 Take care both, look forward to your next video as always 💙💕🕷️😘xxxx
happy times when a project comes to the winners enclosure. PROFF. even from a wild caught female. some great information on this video for the hobby. to help others. great footage CAMERA LADY. many thanks guys and take care
i recently got my first scorpion, like 2 months ago, also a heterometrus. yesterday he had his first meal, this animal is so cool. Ive always found scorpions cool, and now i have one. Its great!
I'm sorry to ask a question about a completely different species than these fascinating Scorpions and their kind of scary "mouth parts" like 2 small crab hands coming out - which I confess I have never witnessed this part before. My question is about the Singapore Blue female tarantula that you carefully removed Phorid fly maggotts from inside and around her mouth. On the 3rd video you said you would leave her alone, hope she molts and later on try to breed her again. Any news about her, the big beautiful Singapore Blue? Did she continue to heal? Did she molt yet? I realize it only been a bit over 4 months since you first showed her with the tiny maggots.... How is she doing? And thank you and camera lady for your calmness and grace. (I always push the Like Button).
Scorpions would never be my thing and my anxiety level was very high, 😵💫 but I’m glad I stayed with this because I learned a lot. As always, you gave a good presentation that even a non-scorpion fan could enjoy! 🦂🦂🦂
Brilliant stuff Dave, them baby scorpions 🦂 are beautiful and very easy to take care of as you said Dave, anyway Dave another super job by yourself and camera 📷 lady Dave.
The video of the babies as newborns was really interesting. They seemed to all fit on mom's back. You said you dare not disturb the mom, but is there a way you could have removed the babies before some of them became snacks?
Thank you for this information and demonstration Dave! I acquired one a couple months ago and I believe it is gravid. Now I have more peace about how I will handle her and the littles when that time comes.
Hello Dave and Camera Lady, such a good video. It was interesting to see the youngsters were so pale, I’d have imagined them to be mini versions of mum and dad to blend in with their natural surroundings better - it’s good to learn!
Back at it again with the timely videos, Dave! I can’t believe it. I just recently added an AFS to my own collection as well. Lovely video, great to see the babies :)
Morning Dave & Camera lady wot an amazing Asian forest female scorpion I have one called Raven but I never see her as she as made a burrow under her hide she only come out when she eats but I hope u both have a wonderful day
I realize that the Asian forest scorpion is very inexpensive and plentiful but I really hope that more and more people captive breed the more docile emperor scorpions so their price comes down. The other scorpion that fascinates me is the giant South African Flat Rock scorpion.
My mom threatened to eat ME a few times... probably deserved it. :p I LOVELOVE my AFS. He's a big ol' boy of about 5" now! I had hoped for a longer-lived female, but I wouldn't change him for the world now. I hope I have at least a few more years with him!
AWESOME video Dave STUNNING Wee Scorpions the only Scorpion I have is a female Giant Flatrock (Hadogenes Troglodytes ) gonna have to get a few more Scorpions now that I seen this lol
I really want to get a scorpion. Going to an expo next month, so there is a good chance! Dave: when will we be able to buy Dave's Little Beasties T-shirts?
I purchased a Forest Scorpion. I set up its enclosure similar to what you showed. It seemed to be doing well, then one day I found it deceased in the corner. I decided to just focus on my Tarantulas after that. I'll try scorpions again sometime in the future.
They are adorable. I wish my female didn't eat all hers, but then again I am first time scorpion owner and I know my girl was wild. She was super fat when I got her. She rarely comes out top side.
Hi Dave, I admire the way you present your videos; you come across as someone who's genuinely down-to-earth and captivating. Your knowledge about the hobby is impressive. Personally, I focus mainly on breeding isopods, myriapods, and thousands of springtails (they multiply faster than rabbits!). It's almost guaranteed that crickets will end up in nearly every enclosure, despite being only a couple of millimeters long. They often hatch before the main predators have a chance to eat them! I've noticed that springtails breed rapidly in the isopod enclosures. But let's get back to the topic I meant to ask about! I have two Heterometrus spinifer scorpions, both of which are males. However, one of them is still a scorpling, so it's challenging to determine its sex definitively. Initially, I thought I had purchased a sufficiently large enclosure, but this new scorpion is quite sizable. On the first night, he managed to lift himself up enough to reach the ventilation slots and got stuck. We had to carefully remove the lid with him still attached. Thankfully, he was fine on the second night. However, last night, it seems like he's settling in because although he attempted to escape through the ventilation slots again, he eventually gave up. This morning, I found that he had buried his water bowl in the substrate. So, today we plan to buy a deeper and larger container, which we will make ourselves (definitely not with a "BB Gun"! lol 😆), to prevent him from hanging from the ventilation slots. Regarding feeding, my scorpion is approximately 5-6 inches in length. How often should I feed a scorpion of this size? I don't want to overfeed him, but he has consumed 3 or 4 crickets in the past few days. (You know, those "silent" crickets that sound like you're living in a jungle!) Why would anyone call a cricket silent when it's so noisy?
So many questions... Do they come out of an egg? Are they poisonous at that size? What do they eat at that size..does the adult catch food for them.... .Does she not eat until they go? Thanks for the video...
@@daveslittlebeastiesaaahhh its clear you enjoy the hobby alot, i guess that having creatures that hide most of the day so having many makes it so theres a steady flow of thrills reasonable.. fair enough...
Just cuz they require basic, doesn't mean they have to have basic. My girl loves her 5 gallon layer. She has a massive layer, the way she likes. She has few rooms in her tank. Idk man, just cuz they need very little doesn't mean that what you have to give them. She also has nice shallow pool she dip in into as well as live plants. She thinks she is wild scorpion.
Lovely vid, do they glow under UV at that age or does it come in with their 1st dark moult? My tiny one has just moulted for the 1st time in my care which is good as it confirms I'm keeping it okay being my one and only scorpion
Thank you for the great video, Dave. I'm going to get a scorpion when things settle down in my life. Do you have emperor scorpions too? I think that I want one of them.

Excellent Dave. Again more questions lol. I have 2 sold to me as heterometrus laoticus, Asian forest scorpion. Are they the same as the spinifer? Can they be communal? And finally is there any reason you called her Julie? I've not noticed you name any of your animals before.
Hi Dave, I actually believe that these particular individuals may be Javanimetrus cyaneus, rather than Heterometrus spinifer. The shape of the chelae, dark telson, and heavy granulation on the carapace and tergites are not consistent with H. spinifer. I can't be sure from the video as the adult was moving around quite a bit, but if you can post pictures up somewhere I can confirm the ID for you.
It is definitely not a Heterometrus spinifer. He probably won't believe you though. He sounded kind of egotistical talking about the Scorpions and their husbandry like he knew everything about them. 😅
@@brianscreaturesofthenight2621 Dave is generally pretty knowledgeable even if he doesn't specialize in scorpions. His previous scorpion video featured true H. spinifer, which looks quite different to this. I think if he does a side by side comparison he'll be able to tell.
