The 911 Carrera is just the best overallpackage GT Car you can get. Its is a hell of a sportscar, fast and then its "econmic" (for its HP) and super comfortable, too. It is just perfect.
@davewhodavedunn that is actually or standard or required by many countries outside of North America BMW has it for all their cars outside NA, but was too cheap to incorporate it into the cars in Canada and US. Audi's have hazard lights come on under heavy braking as well. In Asia and some EU countries, the cars may be fitted with this system but if not, drivers are taught to switch on their hazard lights by themselves under heavy braking. Esp coming to a stop or slow down on a highway
They have tilted the engine forward and moved the engine forward slightly since the 993. It seems every time they make an improvement it involves pushing the axle back further (relative to the engine) or leaning the engine forward (thus changing its center of mass further toward the axle). I agree the changes are slight and slow but you can only hide the fact that midengine is better for handling with stickier/wider rubber for so long.
EVERYCAR should have taillights that blink on off, on off, on off when breaking very hard like this. This is such a small but huge idea from porsche. I really hope every car company does this, as they did we front led daytime running lights. Brilliant!!!
Sweet! Can't wait for the Turbo, Turbo S, GT2, GT2 RS, GT3 & GT3 RS! Is the Carrera S weighs in only at 3,100 lbs, imagine the GT2 RS and GT3 RS! 500 bhp GT3 RS at around 2800 lbs! And 600-650 bhp GT2 RS around 2,800 to 3,000 lbs! Smiles all day!
If I had $125k and I had choice between a Corvette and this Porsche 911, I take this Porsche. I mean with their dual-clutch PDK transmission, and it can go 0-60 in 3 seconds, whoo! And how light and would you believe fuel efficient, it's the ultimate dream sports car.
I know hahaha, so the new one will surely do it as well. Let's hope it improves by at least a tenth of a second (though that's really tough at that point). I just wish it could beat the veyron!
@davewhodavedunn how can you say the porsche styling is boring ? its pure gold, and has reached legendary status. you can like it, or you can dislike it. but saying porsche has to move on is just plain stupid....
@DtotheG1969 I hope you're not 12 years old because then I couldn't be mad at you. As mentioned, the ZR1 is amazing and try to compare it's price to the top of the line porsche.
Anyone else think that Porsche is slowly turning the 911 into the Cayman? They just keep incrementally making it more mid engined. I just wish they would take the Carrera engine and put it into the Cayman already.
Porsche really needs to change the styling of there cars. I realize they do this to keep the heritage of their cars but come on, they have looked like this for 30 years. The rear looks nicely changed but the rest of the body looks the same old boring porsche. Change the front bumper at leased. Do something!
The boxster looks way cooler. People just call it a poor man's porsche because they could never afford a 911 themselves. Who needs faster than a boxster anyway?
My kids love it in the back. They are 5 and 8 and we have taken multi-hour trips with them.
instablaster.
What a great color combination. Looks really nice in the 991.

this realy is a piece of artwork....mindblowing specs too....

"First car to have the 7 speed Manual Transmission!"

Exceptional Porsche! All Porsches are fucking awesome! Boxsters are badass too!

0-60 seems to be tested slow. The track looks hot and it may be at altitude. I think the conservative Porsche numbers are 3.4-3.5.
Boxster S is an amazing car! go drive one and see

True, but let's wait for the new turbo s. I'm sure it'll do it under 3 seconds.
I just picked up a 2012 2S. It is indeed a great car.
With regards to the presenter, why do feel like I’ve been shouted at the whole video?
One day Porsche... one day :-)
I agree dude!!!porsche is pure tech!vette is just force
I know hahaha, so the new one will surely do it as well. Let's hope it improves by at least a tenth of a second (though that's really tough at that point). I just wish it could beat the veyron!
@DtotheG1969
Easy now, don't diss the 'Vette. It's an American icon.
Wonderful
@DtotheG1969 Maybe you should go back to GM and look into the new ZR1 and even Z06. Can't say those don't handle.
imagine the turbo s speed what it will be like..i hope the gt3 will have the 997 steering
Love the car, wish Motorweek could have reviewed the manual.

Fantastic!
Cant wait too see the GT2rs version of this!!!
waffles151 you can stop waiting now
Rear space is more useful for luggage more than people :D

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!!
have to say, dream car!
what are those wheels in the thumbnail? they are the coolest i've ever seen
Name of this optional wheel is "Sport Design Wheel". But now, it is no longer available.
you sir are right, thank you. What a shame that they dropped them and the black/gray interior which appear to be my favourites :(
Total Package!!
damm what a car.

What's that house in the background, it looks so familiar???
@4gasem a 7sp?
agreed
Can u get a proper manual trans.?
I'd buy one, but it's far to much so I bought a 2012 srt8
yeppppp!!

what would you want if you had 100 grand to spend?
@mlps93 lol the fucking Fiat 500 has that as standard...
@DavidWood17 Challenger,
The boxster looks way cooler. People just call it a poor man's porsche because they could never afford a 911 themselves. Who needs faster than a boxster anyway?
porsche is the best!!!!
97,350 dollars?? Oh well, a 'Vette will suffice. :-(
One of the most boring, monotone reviews of one of the greatest cars
so flat in the corners
first time i say im first
Wow, that was am... boring!
wow what a boring presenter.. and his accent. had to turn it off.
