Taetang .__ So you start off with 3 strands and then you add hair from the hair that’s untouched to a side strand. Then you bring the middle strand over the one you added hair to, and keep repeating the process until you run out of hair. When you run out of hair, you just start braiding without adding hair. But still make the middle strand go over the side strands because if you don’t, the braid will let go and you’ll have to start over.
Edit: Hope that made sense. If you have questions, feel free to ask, it took me a while to master Dutch braids and I wanna help people learn it easier than I did.

I don't know if it's because of my hair type (mine is curly), but I usually add cream or water all over it so it's quite wet and then I start doing the braids. It makes it so much easier for me, and it looks much more neat.

Literally sat myself for hours just doing these braids over and over again so I can get the motion down and learn. It takes a lot of practice but just keep practicing and you’ll get it down friends 💕

Lmaoo. It’s so true. I eventually learned how to braid my own hair after WEEKS of searching for TH-cam videos and I finally found one of this young girl with red hair , showing how to French braid. Idk if her video is still up on TH-cam but she is the reason I learned lol.

Yes!! I have been trying to figure out this hairstyle for years and your video finally got me there! I always was taught braiding with the outside strands being used for reference so I would forget which side I was braiding doing Dutch and French braids. Thinking about it with the middle strand leading changes the game entirely. Thank you!

You don't have to naturally talented to be able to braid your own hair. I am 12 years old and I can do it, so you can too. You just have to keep trying. Don't worry it will take some time but in the end its worth it.

my hair is so thick and heavy that it literally overwhelmed me to a point where i cried when i just thought of washing and drying it, so i cut it off from ass-length to shoulder-length because my mental health could not take the slightest thing added to the stress and i felt much better 💀 i miss the length but my hair grows so sickeningly fast, it’s almost there already and it’s been like 5 months 😭

finally figured it out. had to redo both sides a whole bunch of times but thankfully my muscle memory kicked in after the first couple of times. I'd recommend watching the video a couple of times and then sitting with a mirror in front of a mirror and getting to it. Watching the video, keeping an eye on the mirror and doing the braids simultaneously is simply impossible (for me) because my attention and patience gets divided far too much.
you dont really need any extra clips. Just leave one side as a simple ponytail so it doesnt get in the way. Nothing fancy required. and most importantly take breaks in between. Just lean your arms against some wall or high chair or something (in the raised position ofc so no strands get mixed up).

Mine isn’t as thick as it is curly, but it makes it hella difficult so I can’t really do it either and btw BTS fan and Jimin Has ALLLLL the jams
Personally I just straighten it before I braid it, and then it gives it the effect of being longer and it is alot easier to work with. If it has static (mine usually does) put some frizz product in it.

i decided to "glow up" for when I go back to school because of quarantine.. Thought this would be a good idea. Turns out im not patient at all. Basically I watched the start and gave up. I will just straighten my hair for school
Honestly I wish I could do a mini “glow up” but I’m so lazy I don’t even brush my hair half of the time (then again I’m homeschooled so that may have something to do with it...)

I love Dutch braid but 3 problems 1. I can't braid hair not even my own.
2-3. My hair is too thick
My hair was previously cut with bangs so my hair is short and uneven in some areas.
I had such long Beautiful hair why did I have to cut it.
Biggest regrets ever. I've let it grow out 2 times in my life and I always say I'm not going to cut it but when the hot temperature comes around I give into cutting my hair 😭😭

I had hair down to my butt and then I cut it off up to my shoulders I looked hideous so I grew it out to my chest and then I cut it again (Australia summer sucks) and that was in grade 4 I then started bleaching my hair so it is very damaged and so I started to grow it out again for 3 years later it is almost to my butt
