- Oh where do I begin, this makeup experience was so bad, I had to walk out midway through the makeup process because I couldn't take it anymore. When I tell you this is the absolute worst reviewed makeup artist, it really is. I can't belive how rude and disrespectful these people are.

They're literally in the back talking about how they messed up somebody else's makeup, and thought it turned out laughable
They said something along the lines of her being attractive as well, maybe they purposefully messed up? I haven’t seen the ending yet so I’m not sure how well they do makeup.. considering her brushes haven’t been cleaned since she bought them

the worst part is that they made fun of someone with dark skin bleaching their hair blonde calling them a slur, probably prieto, which is a derogatory to refer to a dark skinned person.

@@NyanMask sadly that word is really normalized here in latam. some people use it to say they got tanned in the beach or something, but a lot of them use it in a bad way. it's not like the n-word, but still a slur.
The way Rebal stood up for Joudi is everything. They were taking advantage of her kindness and he wasn't having it.

I was so surprised that Rebal was so upfront and stood up for her, hes usually just a goofy recording, clearly he had less patience and doesnt take bullshit for that long, so thank god he goes with Judy who is sometimes too nice for her own good.

I am an esthetician and makeup artist and was totally shocked about your whole experience. I take an average of 45 minutes to do a bridal makeup and everyone walks away very happy. You should name this place and location so you save others from a disaster like this
Please report them to any agency you can, health department, cosmetology licensing, better business bureau, any or all of them. Drag that place on any review site you can. RAGE.
Sadly much worse than this goes on in Ecuador and nothing is done so sadly I highly doubt they will care to have them removed

Honestly, I'm such a freak with my skin, I can't even imagine letting her touching me with these brushes that have probably never been cleaned before.

As a professional makeup artist, this REALLY upsets me. They're not only being SO RUDE to their clients, but they're also leaving a bad image on this profession. This is why so many people think our service is "not worthy" or it's really expensive when they want to get their makeup done: because in so many places people are doing it in a very poorly way, and I'm not only talking about it skill wise, but also from the clients perspective. Professionalism is key, your client is supposed to leave with a big smile on their face.
Also, Judy, from the clients perspective, I don't think you should keep doing this, because you're putting in danger your own skin. During the pandemic makeup artists from all around the world have had to change and upgrade their hygiene practices, and this people are not doing it, clearly. Unfortunately here in Latin America (I'm from Argentina btw) people are not taking it as serious as they should. Just want you to stay safe ❤

as a professional do you honestly think the pricing for getting your makeup done isn't a bit too expensive? not trying to be rude just asking as i often do feel like it isn't worth it, not because of the outcome necessarily but because in some cases it seems almost ridiculously expensive if you want a good look and not something like what she got here. i just feel like makeup you wear for a day shouldn't be that expensive (obviously not talking about luxury places). as this is your profession i'm sure you value it a lot more than the average person and i would like to know your honest opinion!
Agreed. I never went to a makeup artist nor will i ever go to one. No offense but all my friends have gone to almost every makeup artist in my city (which us a very small one ngl) and they all were so AWFUL. I hated the way they did the makeup, it looked like they splashed a ton of color that looks like their skin on them. It was horrible
@@edelleaa hi there! Tbh I can't speak for the actual pricing of the service since it may change depending on where you live. But generally speaking, there's a lot of things a makeup artist need to consider when it comes to pricing their services just like: experience, their kit (which is not only composed by the products itself bit also your equipment such as a digital camera/phone, ring light (or any sort of light), chair, hygiene equipment, which is really important and mostly nowadays), transportation (which is charged apart from the service price), knowledge (in which may also be included the courses you've taken) and time (not only the one spent during the service, but also the time you spend cleaning and disinfecting your kit, getting to the location, practicing, studying, etc). So, as you can see it's a very long list of things that we have to take into account when it comes to charging. From the client's perspective I can totally understand why people think the service can be a bit overpriced, since people don't know how much it costs to build your kit and educate yourself.
Also, when I mentioned that makeup artist take into account their experience for setting their pricing, you have to take into account that a very well recognized artist will charge more than a "regular" one. For example, let's say that Patrick Ta (celeb MUA) and I are in LA. Patrick will charge more than me, because of his experience, kit and recognition.
Apart from all that, I do think that some people/places may be charging a lot higher than they should, but it's probably because they're not being ethical about it, which is unprofessional in my opinion. What I suggest you is to, whenever you want to get your makeup done, do a little bit of a research beforehand. Look at the MUA's social media, we usually post not only our looks but also pics/videos of our kit, so that people know which brands we use and if we do the proper hygiene practices. Look at their work, the way they speak and treat their clients, their kit, etc. It's all important when it comes to being professional, and as a client you shouldn't expect less than that.

That's a front for human trafficking if i ever seen one, the fact they weren't expecting someone wanting to get an actual makeup look to the point they had to WATCH A TUTORIAL because they just aren't actual makeup professionals and only have some makeup bought specifically in case someone actually does come for a makeup appointment, all the men in the room and just all around in general, all the whispering, the paying upfront

Not even that, I only do my own makeup and I probably won't know how to do makeup on someone that is like 60 years old like a professional makeup artist that knows all types of skin, but even I can do so much better than this. This is another level like she just watched 2 makeup tutorials and only know the name of the products

@@TheStepmonkey let me name just a few red flags: they barely have any makeup at all and all of it is really cheap and old, the "mua" clearly has no training at all, the other employees are just sitting in the back doing nothing, making fun of customers in front of other customers and clearly they don't give a shit, employees wearing coats inside, and if you take a look at their Instagram page they have a lot of followers but no engagement, and also, what they advertise is not what they sell. So clearly they're trying to seem like a legitimate business, all the while their employees don't give a shit about customers. There is no way in hell they're making enough money to stay afloat with this kind of service.

there was a salon like this in my hometown and everyone pretty much knew it was a cover for drug dealing. nobody inside ever worked, so it makes me think the same is happening here

It reminds me how sweet a soul you are, you see the good in nearly every situation, and even here kept trying to give the benefit of the doubt, and they just could not get it together. Glad you do share these experiences because it exposes them, and they deserve it for the things they openly, LOUDLY, said about clients in the presence of another client.

And also told them that the video would be posted for everyone to see so they know that the way they were talking so badly about their clients will be seen by the world and they should be embarrassed AF. Ugh.. It wasn't even my experience but I want to go there and do these things for her and make them refund her money.. I feel so bad for real brides that go there on the happiest day of their lives about to be married and leave looking like that. And then being talked badly about after they leave.. @@VinellAngel_111 The eyes dont match. The eye crease makeup is so blatantly horrible. The foundation shade is orange. The contour did not work. The powder was horribly applied. She used brushes instead of sponges. There is nothing wrong with brushes but if you saw closely you can tell the brushes were not even clean. And overall the way everything was blended was horrible. You can literally see streaks on her face from the horrendous blending. But yea overall this was horrible

Edit: It actually may be a salon in Quito, Ecuador called “El Maravilloso Mundo del Maquillaje.” I think it maybe this one because before Rebal says the name of the salon, they chopped a part out, probably not wanting to expose the full name, so what you do hear is Rebal saying “I don’t understand. The name of the Salon is” (part cut out)-“Mundo del Maquillaje”
Did anyone notice @ 6:05-6:25 that the MUA was insinuating that Rebel stole the tape? She basically said "Well it was right next to you and now it's gone, that's strange".
As a ghost I also relate to not finding the right shade, but that is beyond human understanding.
This honestly looks like she went and got her own personal makeup bag from the back and then used it on you, the foundation was similar to her hand colour. That just SCREAMS sketchy to me!

They're probably so lowly rated that they don't often get any customers so they don't need to worry too much about actually doing makeup... they got to be making money some other way. I used to live in Mexico and some places were like this in very rich areas. In the more poorer areas, all of the people and places were so kind and lovely. I never did business in places that seemed like it was for rich people.
I was always treated so kindly at the other places and they even offered me food or whatever I needed during my time there.
Sometimes people didn’t know I could speak Spanish but they tried their hardest to speak English to me. It was so sweet.
This is very disappointing and I hope their business changes their employees or else it’s not gonna last

I once had a lady with only half her haircut come to me crying to fix and finish cutting her hair because the Salon she was at previously was making fun of her while she was in their chair! She was so appreciative of what I did for her. Customer Service skills are a must in the hair and makeup industry! Return customer’s are what keeps us in business!

reminds me of my first time at the salon, there were two guys making fun of me the entire time in a different language they thought i didn't understand. They were laughing too, it was horrible. Then not long ago another salon fat-shamed my sister when she recently had a baby. Just awful.
The foundation matches the makeup artist's hands more than it does the client's face. Almost like she used her own foundation (just speculation).
And the fact that they would use their own makeup and brushes... I hope they get something like pink eye or worse when they go to do their own makeup the next morning.
And those brushes looked so dirtyyy, I wouldn't pay for such thing

Her brushes were NOT clean. She used DIRTY brushes on you. When she opened her “makeup brushes” none of them were clean. That would have made me walk. The very first rule in professional makeup is to start with clean brushes, you have no idea who she has used those on, where and what they touched. She literally could have passed staph infection, conjunctivitis and a slew of other things just with her brushes. You are more patient than me.
