Any tips for doing this with curly hair that doesn't really separate into strands without yanking it with both hands and all the thoughts and prayers in the world? That's the issue I run into, I need both hands to separate new strands and lose track of the old ones.

What I do it I brush it and use a spray bottle til it is moderately wet

I had this issue, it was going great at first then about quarter of the way down I physically couldn’t keep my arms up anymore and had to stop

I did this while sitting on the floor and whenever my hands were going to die i bent forward and rested my elbows on my knees 🥲 and finally i can do a french braid by myself at 26!!! Thanks!

And tonight you just made the whole thing makes sense in my brain and it looks beautiful. I had really given up hope a few years ago of ever being able to do this. I am 24 years old and have never in my life successfully French braided my hair. I have looked up tutorials before but I could never wrap my brain around how to hold the sections and keep them organized. Today I found this video and on my first attempt after watching it I have successfully French braided my hair!!! I'm absolutely thrilled! I was not in the slightest offended to be given the exact same instructions over and over and over because that is exactly what I needed. She explains and shows everything very helpfully. Thank you!

It’s 12 past 11 and I have a maths test tomorrow and I’m sitting on the floor with spaghetti arms and tangled hair, studying ratios- help.
At 25 seconds in I'm already failing haha! I may just not have enough dexterity to keep hold of the three separate strands. Will keep practicing!

Growing up, I always had long hair so my girl friends always played with it and learned how to braid it on me. But I never got the chance to practice on them. Now I still have long hair and I’ve been trying to learn how to do more than just your basic braid… thank you! Time to perfect it. ♡

Practice on friends or dolls. I use to practice bracing and other hairstyles on my barbies but the only problem is I can’t do them on myself lmao. One of the problems also is that my hair gets tangled easily like by putting it in a ponytail.

I have had long hair all of my 42 years and had a mother with short hair so I was never taught how to french braid...until I watched this video! This video should be the first video when searching TH-cam. You jumped right into the tutorial without all the "life story, please subscribe" crap that takes up the first 10 minutes of all the other how to videos out there. I respect that. Great video! Ok so, I tried this and got it in 5 MINUTES!!! Like what the heck!! This is the easiest explanation for a French braid!!! Also, (a little tip for you guys) if you try this without a mirror, it’s way easier bc you’re not as focused on how it looks, you’re more focused on the steps. That helped me a lot!!!!

It doesn't make a difference what color your hair is, it will be noticeable and beautiful! My hair is brown but it looks black when it's not in the light. Dark hair looks beautiful in a French or Dutch braid. Give it try!😊

I had long hair until about 2006, then I was working in a place that did not have air-conditioning in the summertime, I had to cut my hair short. But when it was long, I would put it in a ponytail and braid that. Now that I'm retired and growing my hair out again, I'll be using this technique. Thank you for posting this.
