Hmm perhaps I should have explained baton pass teams better but I feel as if it could be its own video for another time. I provided some reading links on it though in the description for now. Thank you for watching though, please let me know if I overlooked other things.
Yes, I suggest making an Evolution of Baton Pass Teams from Gen 2 all the way to Gen 7 Ubers where it got banned from Smogon meta. It really shows the evolution of what used to be a niche idea that became more and more power over the years of the utility power creep. People should know how crazy Eeveepass is in Gen 7 Ubers, before it got slapped with the ban. It is downright terrifying to see a Global +2 Krokodile OHKO Defensive Xerneas.
That's Smogon for you. "We have to ban ingrain and baton pass. It's affecting the metagame way too much." "It takes a hundred turns, though. And one haze undoes everything." "Doesn't matter. Banned!" "Ok. What about banning stealth rock?" "Well now you're just being silly."
As a baton pass user, there are lots of ways to get around Haze, Taunt, etc. 1. Haze and Heart Swap can be blocked with Taunt (Mr. Mime) 2. Phazing moves (and Red Card) are useless (Soundproof Mr. Mime or Ingrain) 3. Encore, Taunt, and Topsy-Turvy can be bounced back (Espeon) 4. Spectral Thief can be blocked by Smeargle 5. Transform is blocked by substitutes 6. Infiltrator doesn't matter when you're +6 in all stats :P How long does this take? About ~50 turns. Even if you get a Haze off, I can just try again. Not to say there aren't counters, but it's not that easy to stop
rabbits2345 But any number of pokemon can have haze and by the time I switch in, you don't have time to switch in a blocker. Also, magic bounce didn't exist in gen 3 so encore's viable. Also, even if I'm just doing chip damage, if you have to go all those turns time and time again, I'll win the attrition battle.
Really only a small handful of (viable) pokemon can learn Haze, and they're all really slow. Yeah, you can run Dodrio with Haze (lol) but it's usually not too hard to sniff out who has might Haze on a team. I can scout for switches by using Baton Pass. If you switch to a Hazer, I bring in my Taunt mon. If you don't switch, then I'll just keep boosting up. And Magic Bounce didn't exist, but Magic Coat did, which effectively does the same thing. In addition to all that, you can only surprise me with Haze once. After that, I know exactly what you're doing if you switch in your Hazer. And you didn't kill anyone, so I can just try again
Overrated? Ho-oh losing 50% on switch, and guaranteed damage on anything is amazing in 1 turn is amazing. There's a reason literally every team is running Stealth Rock.
They nerfed Dark Void's accuracy from 80 to 50, which is worse than Sing's 55. Smeargle is pretty much done for at this point, unless someone discovers something truly amazing. And yeah, why they nerfed Dark Void in general is weird, considering it affects poor Darkrai as well.

Smeargle: The Ultimate Support Pokemon. With it, you are only limited by your imagination, and the bans that it caused if you so choose to abide by those balancing factors. Game Freak looking at Smeargle: Oh God, this thing can use Dark Void?! Quick, it's a threat to the meta! Destroy it! *Galar cometh* Game Freak looking at Zacian: Yeah, this is fine for the meta.
I have a Smeargle that has very unique moves. I taught it Relic Song, Dragon Ascent, Psycho Boost and Diamond Storm in ORAS and was actually transferred to Sun!

@@gautamsathe1407 - Well, obviously that blood came from a bunch of Vulcans.
Game Freak looking at Smeargle: Oh God, this thing can use Dark Void?! Quick, it's a threat to the meta! Destroy it!
*Galar cometh*
Game Freak looking at Zacian: Yeah, this is fine for the meta.
Also gf: You know what, let's ruin it for Darkrai too.
We need more art history 101 in this series
You can have ancient power silver wind and ominous wind with baton pass on togekiss. And it has serene grace so this is debatably viable.
How GOOD was the Porygon trio ACTUALLY? - History of Porygon, Porygon2 and Porygon-Z in Competitive Pokemon (Gens 1-6)
Jonathan Mommers already happened
Do Crobat next! I wanna him SO MUCH!!!
8:29That "Feargle" is really fearsome.😆
I really enjoy using Tail Glow on Smeargle as it can one shot a good number of Pokémon with Stab Boomburst.
How GOOD was Delibird ACTUALLY?
It's always been a bad pokemon and always will be.
b99b12 T R A S H
b99b12 god teir all gens I'm sure
Delibird can kill Arceus by just existing. That's how powerful it is.
Delibird is amazing...
At being a shit Poke'mon
5:08 watching fake out do almost 50% to a Pokemon is just genuinely upsetting
getting messed up by fake out is a diss
mega kanga:
All the eeveelutions plz.
P.S are you going to do more ssb videos
Poor Smeargle, his best sets are always banned or nerfed.
I have a Smeargle that has very unique moves. I taught it Relic Song, Dragon Ascent, Psycho Boost and Diamond Storm in ORAS and was actually transferred to Sun!
How about golem you did rhyhorn why not golem
Kamar Moore Maybe he's waiting for Gen 7 results to come in so we can see how well Alolan Golem did? :3
Autobot Starscream oh ok then how about skarmory
How GOOD was ENTEI ACTUALLY ?
Its stole Arcanines Light.
Do Kingdra next, please!
CosmicFlare o

Ari Perätalo uh well meh in every gen until gen 7

Stop asking for mediocre Pokemon with nothing to talk about.
Mister G Rool you just hatin cuz muk fuked yoo
This really needs an update
Hear me out, imagine Prankster Smeargle
nice to see one of my favourites on this channel thank you and keep it up!!!
2017: 17 minutes is a lot
2020: hour long video
Do a video on Slowbro.
KINGDRAAAA PLSS
Sloooowbroooo
I remember my lead smeargle back in gen 4, it was really fun to use, scarf with Spore, Trick, Stealth Rocks, and Spikes
Honestly, Smeargle in a vacuum even with its bad stats is an INCREDIBLE Pokemon. The real thing that keeps it from being borked is tournament/competitive rulesets and bans.
I have a Smeargle with a Timid nature & Moody, & man that ability is SOOO fun!! It has Oblivion Wing, Hydro Pump, Moonblast, & Thunderbolt.
That's what called a Noob's Smeargle
how good was slowbro
Kingdra
Smeargle made me love the WHOLE normal type. being this underrated beast was able to destroy like that.. I love him and Snorlax
I'd love to see a how good was Sneasel/Weavile video in the near future. Weavile is one of my favorite Pokemon!
I feel like this is recommended for me because of Pikasprey Blue.
10:10 'Smashing and Passing' ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
"Smeargle can paint whatever it's heart desires."
Except for better base stats.
Seriously, try using an offensive set without getting stat ups passed to you, Spore, Sleep Powder, Toxic, Dark Void, Super Fang, Endeavor, entry hazards, or Baton Pass, and you'll see what I mean.
PeanutTechno TechnoBlues Then maybe don't do that. You know what they meant.
Loving this series, keep up the good work. Maybe try a true challenge of porygon if you're up for it
The dark void nerf was so big that now darkrai uses hypnosis that is 60% accuracy
