Yes indeed! I felt as bad for her as I did the doggos. I cant imagine and hope I never have to be in her position. My kids are my bestest friends and keep me living. My mission in this life💞💞💞
Being unable to look after a pet any longer and having to give it up has to be one of the most heartbreaking experiences for those of us who have and love our animals. It's one thing to say good-bye to them at the end of their lives, but to have to give them up, knowing that they're still out there and that you're still in their minds and hearts, I hope I never have to do that.
It really is heartbreaking, I had to give up my 2 y/o boy Chubby in june 2019 and he got adopted in july 2019… I cried almost everyday for about two months, I still miss him so much. He was the biggest baby ever and the most cuddly dog.. I tried looking for him when i got my own place but I knew his family was already probably so in love with him I couldn’t do it to take him away from someone else, i knew how special he was.

It can not be an easy thing to do but bless her for doing it and not letting the animals suffer as so many do!
I came pretty close to that situation. I had to move quickly, and it is not easy to find a place that allows pets. I cried for days thinking I would have to give up my precious Billy, and I how he would think that I stopped loving him, that I didn't want him anymore, and what was I going to do without him. Fortunately, I found a place for us, with a backyard for him. Considering that I live in Queens, NY, I we are very lucky.

I was SO grateful I was working the day she came to the feed store, and again, the day YOU came. I cried so many happy tears that you gave this wonderful mama a second chance. And that the babies get new loving homes. We at the feed store, we love y'all very much. Thank you Asher house.

My heart breaks for this dear lady. 16 years ago, I lost my home and was living in and out of motels and with friends. After several months, I made the hard choice to give up my 5 year old beagle to a great shelter. They found him a wonderful home almost immediately. I cried for weeks but knew I had made the best choice for him.

Such a hard choice when you're going through hard times to make I can't imagine how difficult it was to be living like that with your animal but I do know lots of homeless people in my area that do the best they can they will feed their animals before they eat themselves and I do my best to help both the human and animal population when I see them out in the streets people don't understand that that's all you got sometimes you don't have any friends or anybody you can trust and they have their animals you did what you have to do and you make the best of it right I pray for all the people that are going through the situation like yourself don't judge people anybody can be one paycheck away from being homeless it's a horrific situation and this United States of America the situation of homelessness there's not nearly being enough done it's overwhelming to see and my mother always told me if you have a penny Michelle and it's the last penny you have you give it to somebody else cuz God will return it to you and it's true he does and so from my heart to yours anybody and everybody who reads this please give back I have very little but I sure everything I would never hesitate to take the shirt off literally off my back to give to somebody else in need please we only have one life we're all brothers and sisters if you've ever been hungry then you understand if you've ever not had a roof over your head then you understand don't look down on people because we're all human beings we're All God's children we need to be more compassionate and understanding and share everything that we have in every way possible and that's the heart of Lee Asher and that's why I love him with all my heart because that's who he is and I believe that his soul tribe here this group of people is a very loving kind compassionate group and that we all can make a difference every single day for the rest of our days and make it a point people to do that in any little way or big way whatever way you can everyday did you go out into the world touch somebody's life some way we're all humans don't judge we're not anybody to judge we just should love and care for each other and all of God's creatures ✌️💜🙏💋

My sister had to give up one of her dogs they just weren't able to give him the time he needed. They found a No Kill Shelter that not only found him a good home but sent her pictures of him and his new family. I think that was a awesome extra step for the shelter to do that. Anna In Ohio

This happened to me I had an accident became disabled because of that I lost my home and wasn't taking the dogs on the streets with me it wouldn't be fair to them I cried for weeks they were my babies I know they're out there I hope they never forget me but I pray they're happy a day doesn't go by that I don't think of them it was the worst day of my life

I'm so sorry to hear of your circumstances. You did probably the most wonderful thing in the world, giving up the ones you loved most in the world to make sure they were cared for in a way you were no longer able to. There is no shame in what you did, you are an amazing person with a huge heart and I hope things get better for you xx
There is something so obviously special about Lee that everyone can see it. Despite the apprehension, the puppy that was hiding, could see how wonderful Lee is. If only there were more people like Lee, the world would be a much better place.

Back in 2007 my life had completely fallen apart my children and I were about to be homeless our kitty that we had for 12 years had just passed and we had a Border Collie and a Maltese/Shitzu mix that LOVED each other and that we LOVED! I had to find a safe place for them because I couldn’t even find a home for us let alone my furbabies. Having to let go of them was one of the HARDEST most HEARTBREAKING thing I had, had to do at that point. I didn’t want to let them go! They had given me a love and comfort that at that time I couldn’t have gotten from anywhere or anyone then! Luckily through divine intervention an AMAZING family who was looking for a Maltese (girl) puppy, but couldn’t afford to shell out the money to buy one and had already picked a name for that dog they wanted, which was Pumpkin Pie (because it was around Thanksgiving), had walked into my life and I had THAT dog who was already named Pumpkin!!! Talk about right place at the right time! So now Pumpkin had a wonderful loving home so I could breathe a sigh of relief (a little) that Pumpkin was safe! So now Rocky who I had had since he was 6 weeks old and was now 6 years old, needed a safe place. I tried and tried to find my crazy, lovable boy a home. Well that was not becoming as easy as it was for my little baby girl! So my husband had to take him to our local (no kill) shelter because the end of having a home was coming, only days away. As he was taking Rocky out of the car and kneeling down to say his goodbyes a woman with a shirt from the shelter on walks out and says “I can tell I guess you are surrendering him huh?”, because it was a Saturday and the Vet part of the shelter was closed that day so anyone coming there was either adopting or surrendering. He said “yes,” through his tears. She said “oh my goodness he is a BEAUTIFUL Border Collie!” As she says that she takes out a business card that said something farms (I can’t remember the name of the farm) and Border Collie Rescue!!! SAY WHHHAATTTT?!?!?! Was this even possible?? She said, “ would you mind if I take him? I have a big farm and I rescue farm animals and specifically Border Collies and he would have plenty of room to get out all that energy he has!” Now at this point I still believed in God but with everything I felt he was just allowing me and my poor kids (including my fur kids) to go through I was being a human being and starting to doubt his existence, but I still had that “mustard seed of faith” as they say and prayed he would help me find my Rocky a good home and there she was right there ready to take my baby home! It took awhile for life for me and my family to calm down and get right but it eventually did and I never saw my babies again because it would have been to painful to see them and not take them home but I did get a update from Pumpkin’s new Mommy about a month after she took her and also from Rocky’s new Mommy and they were both happy and healthy as can be! Sorry this is so long and no one probably really read through my long rambling but this woman’s pain and story reminded me of my own and I know how hard it was for her to let her babies go and that, that was not by ANY means an easy decision but it was a necessary one to make sure those babies were happy and safe and given a love and a home she could not provide at this time. If she happens to read this just know I personally think you made the best and most selfless decision you could for them and PLEASE don’t beat yourself up over this like I did because that WON’T make things any easier!!! Giving them up to Lee and the rescue was a very sound decision and I know they will find amazing homes for them ❤️
I read all of it, Shannon. It was devastating, but you did the right thing. You gave up your furbabies because you love them that much. Not many people would understand that, but I do. Hope and pray that your family will never have to be on that unfortunate position, ever again. Stay healthy and safe.

I read the whole post. Thank you for sharing your story. I can’t imagine how painful a situation that must have been to be losing your hone and have nowhere to go that would accept your fur babies. So glad that you were able to find them great homes. What a relief it must have been through all the sadness.

I am so sorry for that woman, having to give up her dogs because of difficult circumstances and being heartbroken. I hope her issues are only temporary and that her community can offer support. Good thing Mama and Puppies found care through Lee and Family Dogs New Life. We all need each other, don't we?

I had 8 dogs and they all died from old age The last one, Oliver, who’s still alive will turn 15 in January 2022
He was abandoned by a hunter I’m sure because he was no good for hunting, he’s terrified of gunshots and fireworks
We adopted him in 2007 the vet said he must have been about 8 or 9 months at the time
He grew up with a pack of other 6/7 dogs that gradually passed away as the years went by
As an animal lover I must say I’m lucky I’ve never had to make the hard decision of having to give up my dogs
She seems like a caring lady who loves her dog
I hope she can resolve her problems, in any case if she could no longer take care of the animals she’s made the wise decision

You can see with every dog that he love them from deep in the heart.

We have our second adopted dog now and that is the best thing ever.
They shower you with their unconditional love, trust, loyality and they are the best friend you can imagine.
I would never buy a dog cause the shelters and rescues are crowded with so many beautiful souls.
If you adopt a animal it is the best thing what can happen to you cause life with them is unbelievable wonderful ❣️

I told my therapist about how I watch Asher House videos to calm my nervous system when I am having ptsd. She knew all about The Asher House (we’re in Portland) and said she watches these videos too! What are the chances... good people are such a powerful remedy to heartsick and injured folks. Now, she ‘prescribes’ me “more Asher House” when I am having a hard time ❤️

The HARDEST thing I ever did was to give up my pittiebull after I became too Ill to care for her.
I feel every bit of this lady's pain. But, like her, I did what was best for my dog.
This is a lucky day blessing,mom pup and two puppies,its alrigth for the owner,dont Worry they will be well cared and have a good shelter to live in a home with full of love and kisses.

My heart broke for this lady. She is truly devastated at having to re-home her babies; all 3 of them.
I tell Lee I love him and what he does and keep him in my prayers, same thing today as always! But today I pray for this lady and send as much love and as many hugs and Blessings as she needs in her life as well.
She took very good care of them. That was so clear. I was OK until she started crying and then I was done too. She's doing the right thing and in all honesty, if I had been there, I would have taken them home with me. And she could visit whenever!
I pray for her that whatever is going wrong in her life right now turns around and she is in a good place again. She did right by her pups and made sure they were safe. That deserves the best karma return!
Well I'm glad that you saved them but I can't help but always feel sorry for animals that are bonded and separated. It's really sad
