Best repair channel on earth or Mars for that matter. I've been fixin tractors n mowers since growing up on the farm back home 30 yrs ago n I have gotten involved in repairing and flipping mowers often for 4 yrs now. I enjoy it and have made enough money to pay for my daughters nursing school for most part. People have come to know me and work has increased for me since inflation hit n people cant afford new tractors. I work cheap save people lots of money and produce quality like new tractors. Sold at least 40 of em. All started when my old snapper sr1433 was getting really old and couldnt find parts to repair the transmission anymore.I had the idea of buying a used tractor rebuilding it n earning money to get the tractor I wanted for the house. Started w 2 craftsman lt1000s I got for 100 bucks. Sold em both fir 650 after spending 100 in parts. Sold em in less than 4 days. Now I've got a full shop n people rely on me and I love to make my customers happy n save em lots of cash
thank you, you all are the only ones who have given options and the downfall to just about every situation in between. you answered alll my questions. I am grateful
excellent video, being on a fixed income this video ( and other taryl videos) helped this old man keep his craftsman mower mowing the yard... THANK YOU taryl you are the man, just wish I could meet you to let you know how you save many of us agony and undo hair pulling, (what little I have left) thanks again
Thank you so much, Taryl! To save some money, I was trying to fix my riding mower myself rather than send it to Sears. You gave me the exact information I needed to replace the mandrel housing that had broken; I see my other mandrel housing needs replacement too because it is cracked at 2 of the 4 bolts. I'll order that part and replace it in the near future. So rather than spend hundreds of dollars, I bought an $18 part, put in about an hour of my time (took me longer than you because I don't have a lot of experience with fixing mowers, and I don't have an impact so did it by hand), and saved some money; thanks again!
Thanks this will help me out to replace the shot spindle on my Craftsman lawn mower. Again thanks you are a great help to a lot of people like me the can't afford to hire it fixed!
You totally ROCK!! THANKS for this video. I was able to change the bearings blades and belt on my mower deck with no problem because of your video. I saw other videos but they didn't have you draw the bottom bearing in like you did. Again thanks!
Thank you Man, you were a GREAT help, Love your Music. You are an AWESOME DUDE, and you really know your stuff. Thanks again, God Bless! R. Ramsey Middle Tennessee
3 years ago i just replaced the 4 bearings ,reused everything else and installed grease fittings on the mandrels, still cutting good. i got a kick out of the microphone :)
Have you ever taken the inner seals out and added a grease fitting to the body so it is now areas able spindle? I have done that and worked good never had to replace bearings.
What were some of the aftermarket names you have. And can you tell me why craftsman decks rust out so fast. Thanks again. You give the most informative videos, I've seen on you tube.
This reminds me that I gotta put new bearings in my old John Deere deck. I wonder if I can do it the same way. My back and knees hurt watching you work on the floor like that. lol! I'm gonna send you out a nice set of work horses to do that with. Ha ha. Nice video bud. :)
Does Stens, Rotary or Oregon offer a spindle with bearings kit for an older Husqvarna IZ-4818? I can find the part # for the OEM spindle & bearings, but not for a kit. Thank you.
Taryl ! While putting the spindles together, I packed the housings with grease because 2 out of 3 spindles on the old NOMA don't have a zerk fitting. Was that a good or a bad move ?
I see the friction material is worn off the blade brakes. What I did on mine is, I cut a piece off a old brake pad from a car to fit and welded it on the leaver. Worked great. Love your videos
Thanks for your video my friend has a Craftsman tractor and we maybe get in contact with your website or extra aftermarket stuff for that particular tractor
Hi, I have a Ford LT11, mid 1980's. The deck spindle pulley has the 3 bolts on top. Do you know if the bearings can be replaced? I thought the top might be threaded on but it won't loosen off. Thanks
Music sounds almost like Primus, or something by Les Claypool at the least. I like it. I've been loving the videos. Been binge watching all day. I subscribed. Funny but also very informative. I've got an old 89 Ford YT-18H I'd like to ask if you ever worked on one before. It has a 48" deck. I'm gonna be servicing the fluids in it soon. It has the hydro drive and hydro deck lift. I'd like to be able to ask some questions and send some pictures. I noticed an idler pulley for the transmission belt underneath looked cocked sidwards all crooked. Looked like the bracket is bent but it might suppose to be like that I'm not sure. Haven't jerked the deck off yet to get a better look. I'd like your opinion on these mowers if you've seen or worked on them. I just bought it last month.
Taryl, great video. I am almost done with my craftsman LT1000 deck rebuild, at the spindle install but have an issue that I hope you can help with. The new spindles came with washers that go between the pulley and spindle assembly, one side looks lined up (belt wise) but one side appears to be a bit lower than the rest of the pulleys, thinking about getting a second washer for that side to line up the pulleys, does this sound right? Thanks.
I added a fitting on mine just took out the plastic cover on just one side of the bearing. .. also if u wanted drill a very very small hole in the spindle so the air will leak out
m ? and this has nothing to with tish but you are fun and grate..i have generac 27hr that has been discontinued and need and float Needle for it cam you help me out. it seems to me that you the smartest man on TH-cam
How do you remove the nut off the top of the spindle and pulley without an air impact tool? I cannot find a way to keep the pulley from turning when trying to loosen the nut.
I believe I saw in another video's comments from someone who claimed to have been trained to service Craftsman mowers that they wanted grease in the cavity to help keep moisture from setting up against the bearings etc. If I was in that deep I would likely pull the inner seals off the bearings to they could benfit directly from the grease
Taryl I have a 2012 Crapsman YT3000 mower 42-inch deck the blades always seem to be a little stiff when turned by hand during inspection. I've been running this thing for a few years the deck spins up OK, but it's weird that the spindles seem stiff. any comments? Thanks.
Great Video , What are Your Thoughts Taryl On Greasing Spindles ? It Is A Waste of Grease If You Fill The Cavity With Grease and Have The Inner Bearing Seals in Place. You Are Putting Excessive Pressure on the bearings. You Should Take out The Inner Bearing Caps ( Pastic Covers ) Out Then Place The Shaft ETC Back Together In The Spindle, Then Grease Them . Best To Have a Very Small Weep Hole on The Outside of The Spindle, so The excess Grease Can Come out.
Are you suppose to grease the spindle? When I took the old shaft out it didnt look like there was any grease in it. My new spindle has a grease fitting.
It look like them bearings were sealed a lot of these spindles come with a grease fitting should you pump grease and fill that whole entire shaft up or is it not worth it?
Hey Daryl, I tried to look up parts numbers of Stens, Rotary and Oregon and keep on getting create an account message and or no results? What is the blasted trick? Do I have to give my first born and all the information included to open an account, I only want to search a part for a price???????
Murray too! Love the blues. Looks like good times in podunk!

Y'all need to make more songs that was awesome!! And maybe make a cd of some of them or iTunes? Lol great Video
Have you ever taken the inner seals out and added a grease fitting to the body so it is now areas able spindle? I have done that and worked good never had to replace bearings.

I have had success in packing my mower deck bearings with Lucas sticky red grease.
Awesome video 🇺🇸

Beautiful, love you, sir.
Taryl ! While putting the spindles together, I packed the housings with grease because 2 out of 3 spindles on the old NOMA don't have a zerk fitting.
Was that a good or a bad move ?
Not for nothing you guys make my day😂😂😂😂🤣
hi Taryl, or anyone should a pto be sprayed with penetrant? nice video on the spindles. * note put small bearing on first.
I see the friction material is worn off the blade brakes. What I did on mine is, I cut a piece off a old brake pad from a car to fit and welded it on the leaver. Worked great. Love your videos
Taryl : have you any information on the 1050 series bolens transaxle ?
Thanks for your video my friend has a Craftsman tractor and we maybe get in contact with your website or extra aftermarket stuff for that particular tractor
Hi, I have a Ford LT11, mid 1980's. The deck spindle pulley has the 3 bolts on top. Do you know if the bearings can be replaced? I thought the top might be threaded on but it won't loosen off. Thanks
Unless the pulley or blade hub is welded on the spindle should come apart.

Do you have any groupies? You guys are diamonds in the rough. Also great video on the deck spindle replacement.
Was that a fender telecaster slippers was playing
The man knows his hammer, A-1 Hammer Mechanic and bailing wire master!
what do you think about adding grease zerks to the spindles?
+howard paris You can just remember to remove the inner seal from the new bearings so the little balls will get there greasy nourishment.
I added a fitting on mine just took out the plastic cover on just one side of the bearing. .. also if u wanted drill a very very small hole in the spindle so the air will leak out
Love the tunes
thanks, your video makes it look easy.
Excellent Video the best on youtube.
How much torque should I put on that spindle pulley nut?
m ? and this has nothing to with tish but you are fun and grate..i have generac 27hr that has been discontinued and need and float Needle for it cam you help me out. it seems to me that you the smartest man on TH-cam

How do you remove the nut off the top of the spindle and pulley without an air impact tool? I cannot find a way to keep the pulley from turning when trying to loosen the nut.
Excellent!
Great vid again thank you very much.

Thanks! Yur not so bad yurself!!
If the bearings are sealed bearings what does the grease nipple do?
I believe I saw in another video's comments from someone who claimed to have been trained to service Craftsman mowers that they wanted grease in the cavity to help keep moisture from setting up against the bearings etc. If I was in that deep I would likely pull the inner seals off the bearings to they could benfit directly from the grease
