I’m 78 and it takes me about 40 mins to vacuum and mop my living area . Yes it’s heavy but I feel it’s good exercise. I would like to be able to fix the trigger so I need not hold it. Mine came with a dock stand.
My wife found a trick where you use a rubber band and a toothpick to keep the trigger down lol. But it DOES look like you can buy some trigger locks on Amazon.
FYI - this is actually the Dyson V15 Detect Absolute... it's almost exactly the same as the V15 Detect but comes with different accessories and a different filter. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed the video!
Right?! Sometimes I'll go a while without using it as life happens... But then when I use it again not only is it fun it just seems like it works so well and I'm always shocked by how much stuff is on the ground. It really was worth the extra few bucks.
100% agree with the trigger, there should absolutely be a constant on option. They're terrific vacuums! Just make sure you don't suck up anything wet... it's a real bear to disassemble, clean, dry, reassemble. Wondering if I can retrofit a green LED... hmm...
I was thinking about that too for our other vacuums... Heck I'd even just duct tape it on there! I gotta be careful about wet patches... our fridge likes to shoot out ice cubes so there's lot of puddles just waiting to be soaked up by random socks throughout the day. Wifey loves that!
So, have you tried it yet?! Looking forward to your first impressions. The light still always shocks me with how much it shows. You think you're clean.... Lol
We are still happy with it though maybe it's lost a bit of power over the year? It might be in my head though as it still kicks into high gear whenever it needs it. I still love using it though, that light never gets old!
Right? I feel like since making this video the suction has lost a little bit... I'm not sure if it just needs a good cleaning, but I am otherwise still really happy with it. The light continues to always amaze me.
Listen, I just purchased the v12, and yes, I am soooooooooo shamed. The stuff that came out of my carpet. I thought I was doing the damn thing when cleaning with my shark vacuum and using a swifter duster 😢 This is a device that will be used every day❤
lol! Honestly I couldn't remember what I said in the video about how long we've had it... so if I said 12 years ago, boy maybe it just feels like that... it was 4 homes ago... I have a 10 year old so maybe we did get it after she was born and it's more like 8-10 years old! Good catch! Either way it's still great despite the duct tape holding it together. That could have been a result of the kids using it and not the product failing.
Thanks! It was a fun video to make :) I've never seen the Philipps 8000. It doesn't seem like it exists over here. Is it any good? Did you buy it for a reason or just a good deal?
@@cloudspecs3864 Good call! It's nice to find good value stuff. It's hard to recommend Dyson because of the price but the light is so fricken' cool I had to talk about it lol
Haha ...accountant wife! She works from home and has always been the stable one. I'm more of the entrepreneur/dreamer type and Kramer my way through life kind of guy.. The dynamic works for us and keeps life interesting! She works from home which has its ups and downs. More UPS than Downs though!
Yeah I hear you. We used a bunch of vacuums at different price points and for us, it was on such a different level (not just the light) we felt like it was investing in for our family. It's a ridiculous amount of money though, you are right.

This is a fabulous cleaner. I also have a dust mite allergy. The laser is great and encourages you to clean frequently.

I just bought one through Best Buy. Haven't tried it yet but glad I saw your video. Thanks

The bin does come off. You gotta press the number one button in and then it will slide right off. It’s such a great feature.

wait! you can clean in the dark!
I discovered my new hobby!
Hahah it is incredibly satisfying Oh my gosh. Even months later this is still the highlight of our cleaning throughout the week 😂
Bro get out of my house - We just bought one of these over Black Friday. Game changer!
Hahaha, we on the same level homie! It IS a sick vacuum though right? I still love using it and the floors look nasty EVERY time.
My only complaint is that trigger. I, too, wish I could switch it on and it would stay on.

The whole trigger thing just baffles me. The people that complain I have to worry about. Good luck.
It doesn't bother me one bit but I figured I should mention it because my wife can't stand it. She uses a toothpick and an elastic to hold it on lol

Right?!?! Isn't it awesome?!? Haha, the light of shame 🤣 I still just love using it. Glad to hear it and thanks for the comment.
I hope you don’t sneeze all over the sink like that lol. The handheld around 7 to 8 years old as it was not even launched 12 years ago!!

'well it certainly does suck' haha waynes world
Not many people catch that reference anymore 👊😆
Now I'm afraid to buy this because I don't want to see all the crap on my floor, LOL 👍🏻😂
It's wild... it's also very satisfying. Still love it!
Super nice video i have the philphs 8000 vacuüm. But this one is really nice.

Stay at home dad?! Wife in military? OR job from home type deal?

If it was priced normally at $300 it would be my vacuum. At $1000 it will never be mine. Its a vacuum with a light Stop giving them your money geez.
