I think there was already a reference to the M3 in vanilla Paradise with the basic Kreiger 616, it´s stock paint job was silver with a blue pattern similar to the one of MW.

To make it short: (As you mentioned) Razor basically cheated by sabotaging the oil in the car before the pinkslip race starts and as a result; he wins the race and the car became his own. (Which explains why many people prefer the car as Razor's.)

You know what, Theo? The actual base color of the M3 GTR is silver for the visual customization reason in NFS Most Wanted, but for this mod it changes the colors of the vinyl on the base color.
What you said about the P1 sound, that it sounds like a carrera gt.. Theres a car in BP that uses the sounds of the CGT from NFSMW 05, maybe its the same sound that they used in the P1 but i cant remember exactly
IIRC the Watson 25 V16 Revenge,as well as the Revenge Racer variant used the CGT sound file....and it's a pure eargasm :3 There are times where I would stop somewhere and tap the gas just to see the car backfiring and listen to it's wail
