Just to give you a little background on Blackpink: Blackpink debuted in 2016, they trained for 4 to 6 years before they could debut: Jennie (1:27): born in Korea in 96 and lived 5 years in New Zealand, she is the main rapper and lead vocalist. Jisoo (1:34): born in Korea in '95, she is the visual and lead vocalist and this year she debuted as an actress in her k-drama "Snow Drop". Rosé (Park Chaeyoung) (1:42): born in New Zealand in 97 and moved to Australia is the main vocalist and lead dancer. Lisa (2:27): born in Thailand in 97, she is the youngest of the group and is the main dancer and lead rapper. They are currently the music channel with the most subscribers on TH-cam with 69M plus they have 4 songs with more than 1B views, they also have records on other platforms like instagram being Lisa the Kpop artist with the most followers (65,7M).
@BrightForest i dont fully understand your question, but i guess you are asking why they all moved from their birth place, i guess just to study abroud and get more and diverse education
What is the difference between "main vocalist" and "lead vocalist"? Why are Jennie and Jisoo both "lead vocalists"? There can't be two lead vocalists because "lead" implies only one. Same with "main".
@@linoarquiza5433 Hi in kpop the main are the best in their position, in small groups is just one main in every position but in larger ones you can have more, yes there can be two or more leads.
K-pop is more of an industry than a genre. They will cover pretty much any genre, often times in the same song. BLACKPINK and BTS are the two that have the most international success.
PLEASE REACT MORE TO BLACKPINK - KILL THIS LOVE (MV) - DDU DU DDU DU (MV) - AS IF ITS YOUR LAST (MV) - BOOMBAYAH (MV) - PLAYING WITH FIRE (MV) - WHISTLE (MV) - LOVESICK GIRLS (MV) - ICE CREAM (MV) - STAY (MV) BLACKPINK SOLOS - SOLO (MV) - ON THE GROUND (MV) - GONE (MV) - LALISA (MV) - MONEY (EXCLUSIVE PERFORMANCE)
That's what blackpink sets apart from other kpop girl groups. Their concepts, and baddass attitude. Their songs are more hiphop, powerful, like that. You will totally love them
tbh i think it's more fair to say it's Teddy Park that's different from other producers. Because except for their yg style music, my opinion is that their concept and attitude isn't really that unique from other groups besides that they have a lot of budget to spend on extravagant mvs that compliment their flexy vibes
BLACKPINK has an award-winning Netflix documentary called 'BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky' (released in October 2020), which gives you a detailed look at the group. Note: It doesn't detail everything that they've done.
This was all over TikTok for sure. BLACKPINK did set 5 Guinness World Records with this song in 2020. Please, react to BLACKPINK’s oldest songs, Boombayah and Whistle. They released both of these songs at the same time in 2016 and both songs top the Billboard chart. 🙏😎
Subscribed! 👍 Welcome to the Blinks society 😃 There are lots of cool music videos, m/v the making, reality shows, live performances, netflix short story, solos of the 3 members & Jisoo’s kdrama will be shown by next month thru Disney+, world tour, coachella & lots more
Agree 1000%. Girl/boy groups from that era never appealed to me, but Kpop takes it all to another level. Not just the eye-candy visuals but the creativity of it all, and the dancing... it's the dancing that sets it apart and makes it really hard for other countries to emulate or catch up to right now, because it takes a whole infrastructure to seriously train hopefuls from an early age. Korea was really smart to invest in all this the past 15 years.
If you allow yourself to will discover a amazing trip into a fantastic new world. BLACKPINK is the top of the game. I would love to see more of your response.
If you like K-pop rock or K-rock, then check out Dreamcatcher. They’re like a horror, pop group with rock elements. - Chase Me is their debut song and starts their Nightmare storyline followed up with Good Night, Fly High (prequel to Chase Me), You and I, What - Piri ends the Nightmare storyline, while Deja Vu was for a video game called King’s Raid - Scream, Boca, and Odd Eye is part of a trilogy - BEcause is their latest. song th-cam.com/video/PEKkdIT8JPM/w-d-xo.html Also, check out their B-sides, where they branch out into different genres of music They’re heaviest songs are the Japanese singles, such as Endless Night and No More
Most girl groups tend to follow one of two styles: A cute girl concept or a darker and grittier girl crush concept. Sometimes they can also mix. Blackpink tends to be the latter. In K-pop, each group's fandom also has a name. Blackpink fans are called Blinks. The four girls in Blackpink are Rosé, Jisoo, Lisa, and Jennie. K-pop uses a lot of EDM and other electronic beats for the music, though some groups deviate from that and explore other genres. K-pop is kind of a concept more than a genre itself sometimes because of how much the groups experiment with their sound. One noticeably different example would be the seven member girl group Dreamcatcher, who are well known for their dark horror concepts and heavier rock and metal influenced sound, but they do have other elements in their music, including city pop, jazz, reggae, and others. Welcome to the rabbit hole that is K-pop. I fell into it in January this year and I have not gotten out.
Hi molley....Welcome to BLACKPINK world....please continue to react Blackpink the famous girl group in the world now. There is a lot blackpink content...tq
If you’re delving into “Kpop”, I suggest going at your own pace. There’s lots of different groups with unique styles to most of them. I would suggest sticking to one group first and get a feel for them before listening to a different group as it could help you adjust to their style better. Personally I prefer BlackPink’s visual and sound the most as well as how deep their song lyrics can go. Aespa is also the second group I prefer. Most importantly don’t forget to have fun, I’ll look forward to seeing you check out more of their stuff.
Rosé, the girl with silver hair, has a real Indie style in her recent solo *ON THE GROUND* th-cam.com/video/CKZvWhCqx1s/w-d-xo.html (it's all English, which is her first language as she grew up in New Zealand and Australia.) For more more of her smooth unique voice, she was recently on a TV reality show called SEA OF HOPE, the performances were all on the beach for a small group of people. Rosé was the first special guest on the show, she performed great covers and one of her own songs, she played guitar and keyboards on a few as well: Here are Rosé's performances on the show: *LUCKY* by Jason Mraz (duet) th-cam.com/video/lqAeYl05V2k/w-d-xo.html *THE ONLY EXCEPTION* by Paramore th-cam.com/video/2DUdg4dnse8/w-d-xo.html *READ MY MIND* by the Killers th-cam.com/video/_r92v-T4gSU/w-d-xo.html *SLOW DANCING IN A BURNING ROOM* by John Mayer (performed for the cast) th-cam.com/video/-S9OmJlMRFI/w-d-xo.html *IF I AIN'T GOT YOU* by Alicia Keys th-cam.com/video/V1gTGrL53aE/w-d-xo.html (sung with two other cast members) FYI this was an encore, they had just decided to do it and Rosé wasn't 100% familiar with the song, so she pulled the lyrics up on her phone. Her original song *GONE* th-cam.com/video/0Yn8-0nUiLk/w-d-xo.html and the the heartbreaking Korean cover *TIME SPENT WALKING THROUGH MEMORIES* (turn on subtitles) th-cam.com/video/mrUU_L-pfRU/w-d-xo.html
Wow it’s cool to see you react to blackpink. I’ve been watching this reaction channel forever, I’m use to fantasy and sci-fi shows, but I’m glad your branching out. It will be a lot of fun watching you go down this rabbit hole. Get ready for blinks to start subscribing to your channel
So glad to see you liked it. So often I think people get a misconception of Kpop on general and make the decision to not give it a try. IMO, that’s a mistake that most realize after they ultimately are exposed to it. Anyway, truly hope you continue to explore Blackpink. You won’t be disappointed. I suggest either to start with their debut songs, Boombayah and Whistle, or jump into the billion bangers club, Boombayah, As If it’s Your Last, Ddu Ddu Du, and Kill This Love (all over a billion views). Either way , I’m here for it. Thx!
Big fan of your reactions to The Expanse and The Witcher. And now here you are discovering another one of my (not-so-guilty) pleasures! As an American looking at it from the outside, I can safely say that there isn't anything "typically Kpop" in terms of the music. Blackpink is one of the groups that tends to draw from a lot of trap, EDM, and hip-hop influences, but they aren't alone. What defines Kpop, in my mind, is the concentration and focus on the performance aspect - the wardrobe, the choreography, the cinematography, the personalities - all of that is just as important, just as relevant, as the music itself. While I am a huge Blackpink fan, here are some other representative girl groups to check out: "Psycho" - by Red Velvet "Yes or Yes" - Twice "Oh My God" - (G)-IDLE Blackpink is huge - they have 4 music videos with over 1 billion views each - and "How you Like That" is only 6 million short of joining that list. They debuted in 2016 with "Boombayah" and "Whistle". They played Coachella in 2019. There is even a Netflix Documentary about them - "Blackpink: Light Up The Sky". Enjoy the ride - Kpop is entertaining, if nothing else.
TOPIC: BLACKPINK JENNIE Her full real name is Kim Jennie (김제니), but other Blackpink members call her "Jendeukie." Sometimes, she is also called "Nini. She was born on January 16, 1996 in Anyang City, located in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. She is the only child in their family. She is the 2nd oldest member of the group. Blackpink members voted Jennie as the best cook among them. She spent five years growing up in Auckland, New Zealand. As a result of living abroad, she became a fluent English speaker. Jennie started her training after moving back to Seoul from New Zealand. A talented high schooler at the age of 14, she became a YG Entertainment trainee in 2010. She trained in YG for 5 years and 11 months becoming the member with longest trainee period. Same as the other three members of blackpink, Jennie came from a wealthy family, where her father owns a hospital and her mom is a business woman. Even though she grow up rich our girl manage to take her own path and she auditioned in YG Entertainment, one of the Big 3 or the biggest Record Label and Entertainment Company in South Korea. After more than 5years of training she debuted in August 2016 as the main rapper and lead vocalist of BLACKPINK. The American record labels and Korean record labels are completely different. In America, a label will scout you and pick you up as an artist. In Korea, you audition at a company in hope of being a trainee. If you pass and become a trainee, you train for years in sing/rapping and dancing and other things to debut. The company will then decide whether or not they’ll debut you in a group or as a solo artist. You debut with people you’ve been training with or you'll never debut at all. Blackpink started training together since they were 14-15 years old, trained for 4-10 years and they debuted in August 2016. Blackpink when signing contract in their company it states that they are fobidden in 6 things----- drinking, smoking, clubbing, driving, plastic surgery and dating. But in late 2018, Jennie and EXO's Kai were reportedly dating but in early 2019, SM Entertainment (EXO Kai's Agency) confirmed that Jennie and Kai broke up, in order to focus on their personal careers. WHY PEOPLE LOVES JENNIE MORE AND MORE: HER LOVELY PERSONALITY she is a pretty, lovely, humble and sweet person but she can be savage and funny at the same time. She's fierce on stage, yet she's really sweet behind the camera. The proof? She has a gummy smile that is as soft as cotton candy! Another side of Jennie that you probably didn't know about is her warm, bubbly, and adorably cute personality. Jennie is such a beautiful person, but she's also a normal human who gets frightened by creepy things, startled by horrific objects, and cries like a poor baby. As what their In House Producer and Senior Teddy Park said in their Neflix Documentary Light up the Sky, Jennie she is a perfectionist, she is very clear about her opinion. HER PASSION and DETERMINATION jennie is a kind of person who get out of breath, get hurt and get tired easily. one time on their concert she sprain her ankle while going down the stair, but she just continue to do the show and stays strong for the the blinks. during also on their concert she's not feeling well but she continue to give her best and would never give less, but the staff want her to feel better that's why the members continue the show without her and told the members told the fans that jennie just not feeling very well and she's thankful for blinks to make it to their concert. HER BEING INDEPENDENT and GREAT ROLE MODEL she is an only child, being strong indepent she is, i really admire her for that. she goes to korea to train all by herself because she has the passion to reach and achieve her dreams. we all know blackpink members are rich even before they became blackpink but they didn't look at theirselves higher than anyone and when you became a trainee you just have yourself, trainees are ostensibly allowed to communicate with their parents, the nature of the beast doesn't leave much time for it. Trainees' phones are taken away for almost the entire day because they usually practice 12 am to 12 pm a day. Actual visits from family members occur rarely, if at all, and only with approval from management supervisors and once on their life when still a trainee they lived in a small dorm together, and they only do grocery one a month where at some point they have to only eat scramble eggs and strawberry jam, they didn't want to ask money to their parents and revealed that they once live with cockroaches. Blackpink and Kpop Artists as a whole experienced the same situation and it's not easy at all even if you are rich there is no exception and even some other kpop artist are not supported by their parent to became one but they did it all by theirselves because they has the passion to do achieve their dreams but haters is just cruel and always gonna hate. HER THOUGHTFULNESS During their 1st Private Stage with Blinks. She really wants to perform for blinks other than performing their song, so she ask help from Rosé and the member of their own concert band to teach her how too play guitar so she practices it until the end of their world tour concert before the private stage. HER GOOD HEART BLACKPINK have donated 40M KRW (34,000 USD) for restoration of the highland and to help support the victims of Sokcho forest fire. According to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, on 8th April, Blackpink members Lisa, Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo donated 10M KRW each to their organisation. When the wildfire occurred on the evening of the 4th, Blackpink said, "we sympathise with the pain of the residents of the Gangwon area," they also cancelled their comeback press conference meeting which was scheduled the next day. In Dec 2018 they were awarded prize money of 20M KRW (16,790 USD) by Elle Styles Awards, but being angels they are they donated the amount to low-income and single-parent household in South Korea. And they donated another 20M KWR. HER BEING GRATEFUL and APPRECIATIVE Every fanmeets, concert or other events they would always got expensive gifts from fans. But you know what, regardless of the price, the girls would still jump for joy getting gifts from fans. There's no gift too grand or too simple for them. But sadly, In October 2021 YG Entertainment release a statement saying that the girls won't accept gifts anymore only written letters from blinks, they want their fans to use their money for good cause like donation or charity. BLACKPINK is the best or one of the best most multilingual speaking group in KPOP industry. Below Lisa who speak 5 different languages Jennie rank 2nd as member who speaks more languages, she speaks korean, english, and japanese fluently and currently learning french with Lisa. She is the 2nd most followed KPOP Idol in Instagram with 55.2M followers and the most followed Korean Kpop Idol. She can play guitar. She is a singer, rapper, dancer, composer, song writer, model and she is also a fashion Icon where she models, represent, and she is the ambassador of the following famous and luxury brands: CHANEL (House Ambassador), Lotte Air Baked, PRADA, Gentle Monster (Jentle Home), Jennie Red SAMSUNG KT Korea, HERA Beauty (Global Ambassador), Adidas Nizza, Calvin Klein. and as blackpink as a whole they are ambassadors of: OLENS, KIAMotors, Adidas, NIKE, GUESS, SAMSUNG,LG, Sprite, Coca cola, Kit Kat, PUMA, KBANK Thailand, Shopee E-commerce, Tokopedia, PARADISE CITY Hotel & Resort Complex, Woori Bank Korea, SHISEIDO VINYL MAKE UP, mise en scène Hair Cosmetics, Hello Bubble Hair Color, St. Scott, Incheon Main Customs, Trevi Sparkling Water, Dior for ‘Rogue Dior Liquid’,8. and recently BLACKPINK became the UN or United Nations Global Ambassador.
The whole concept of Blackpink is that they have both a pop-y softer "pretty" side (their pink side) and the "savage" hardcore, more hip hop inclined side (their black side). So going through their body of work you can expect to get different styles and genres but always playing with this dicotomy and delivering sick beats, fire coreographIes, fashion on point and Music Videos production level that will blow your mind. If you are interested in getting to know more about their music, I recommend you to check it out: Bombayah (their debut song) Du ddu du ddu (their biggest hit to date) Kill This Love (a whole banger that showcase some of their most girlpower moments) Pretty Savage (there's no MV but you can find incredible live performances from it.. it's an awesome song about their own awesomeness 😅) Whistle (their debut song together with Bombayah, already showcasing their versatility with a lighter and very original beat) Lovesick girls (a softer song that shows a whole other side to them, toying with a lot of musical genres) As if it's your last (their most bubblegum song to date) Ice cream feat Selena Gomez (a whole bop, so pop so fun so bright, also a full english sumemer song)
I became a blink a little over a month ago and I'm obsessed! I just subscribed! Great reaction. Can't wait for more blackpink content! I was amazed reacting to them at first and every time now. Ahha. So obsessed I'm looking up every TH-camr first reacting to blackpink n if they don't get really impressed I get annoyed. Guess I'm a true blink! 💗🖤💗🖤💗🖤
Checkout their live performance at Coachella in 2019. They were the First Kpop girl group to perform at Coachella and they blew it up! They were named one of the Top Twenty Performances in the Twenty years of Coachella (FYI Arianna Grande was the headliner that noon remembers). In the same week they performed to a sellout crowd at the LA Forum, kicking off the North American leg of their World Tour.
Let us know what you usually listen to and we could give you recommendations. While there are definite trends in the latest releases, it spans a huge range of genres. There are common threads like quality music videos, and live performance since they're always competing on live music shows.
Welcome to the world of Kpop queens, well seems like we gotta see another wholesome journey by someone that completely missing out these massive culture that called Kpop... But gurll, comparing Kpop or these 4 powerful ladies to some pop artists from early 2000s nor the older ones before that was kinda odd actually 😂... well can't really blame you tho cuz nowadays there's a lot of people (especially some random immature westerners from Twitter community) that still shamelessly trying to downgrade and burying the existency of Kpop by spreading some false perception into a bunch of music listeners that doesn't awatre about things that surrounded Kpop industry... and yeah because of that many Kpop newcomers around the world oftenly got brainwashed in a bad way and sometimes they just didn't let themselves to diggin more into the rest of Kpop realm cuz the new listener gradually kept getting so much misconceptions about this particular music's culture. And luckily we as part of a multiple Kpop fandoms were always very well-organized while being passionate about introducing these special culture in a right way as possible especially into someone who geneuinely love to know more about the greatness of our own favorite Kpop artist... well anyway, it's always becoming such a fresh air and we glad to see someone as excited as you to be genuinely enjoying the sound of Kpop and you also seems so cheerful while appreciate the music with your honest opinion especiall eventhough it's not fully being sang in full english nor maybe something that you could listen for your daily consumption, so yeah.. it's a beautiful day to found such a wholesome channel as yours for real ❤️... NEXT RECOMMENDATION BLACKPINK song as a group: - DDU-DU-DDU-DU (Link: m.th-cam.com/video/IHNzOHi8sJs/w-d-xo.html) 2 solo songs from a mini album by one BLACKPINK member named LISA. Recently she just released her first solo album and she's the 3rd one within the group to be finally get her chance to start her own project as a Kpop soloist. The 1st member to get her solo project was JENNIE and the 2nd one is ROSÉ, but for now i'm gonna be focusing more into LISA's stuff cuz it's still pretty recent, so hopefully you could add these 2 songs into your upcoming reaction playlist: 😎🙏 - LALISA (m.th-cam.com/video/awkkyBH2zEo/w-d-xo.html) - MONEY (m.th-cam.com/video/dNCWe_6HAM8/w-d-xo.html) REMINDER - For DDU-DU-DDU-DU and LALISA you still gonna need the english translation so always make sure that the CC's already ON specificly before starting the music video - As for MONEY, tho it's not really a music video and doesn't has any CC in it but you still can enjoy the video cuz the song technically will be in full english and the whole video will gonna show you a cinematography-type of performance video... FOR PERSONAL LEARNING - Wanna know about KPOP a bit more properly? Then you could check a spesific series called "KPOP EVLOTION" from TH-cam Originals, still on going but the first season been done a while ago and you could watch all of 7 episodes from the 1st just for free - But if you also looking for some basic introduction into BLACKPINK as a whole group then you could go through NETFLIX, set some popcorn and watch these official film documentary called "BLACKPINK LIGHT UP THE SKY" ENJOY 😀👌
I'm a Blink (their fandom's name) so that's why I watched your reaction. All Korean acts sound and look different, which is why it's misleading to lump it all into one category called "K-Pop." I pounced on that sub button because your analysis was very detailed and I look forward to more!
This is the first time watching one of your reactions so I have no idea of the type of music you prefer, but the Korean music industry is so diverse that you will find many songs and artists you will like. Even the same group will usually have music spanning lots of genres. I highly recommend two of the legendary groups - Bigbang and SHINee.
I am SO glad you like this one! I was a little bit worried. Some people might take this wrong if it is their very first BP song. The ladies would never diss their actual fans. This song was a huge middle-finger aimed directly at their haters. And we fans LOVE it! The ladies deserve the world. Yes, PLEASE, more BlackPink! I personally recommend starting at the beginning of their discography but you don't HAVE to do that (it is your channel after all). BLACKPINK debuted in 2016 with two songs, and one of those is THE ONLY song they have as a group where there is CGI involved in the Music Video. ALL the rest of their Music Videos so far have been real sets and effects all the way around. Their debut songs are Boombayah and Whistle. Boombayah is a heavy dance beat worthy of any rave or clubbing experience and it is complete with some of the hardest choreography the group has ever performed. They hate doing that choreo because they always hurt afterward. Whistle is lighter, more airy, really chill and laid back. Both are very happy and care-free songs. Feel free to look at their YT channel, all of their stuff is AMAZING! If you can find it on the internet and it has their name on it, it's awesome! Good luck! Luv ya!
It'll get easier to recognize all four of them. You should react to Lisa's (the girl with the bangs that rapped after the chorus) solo called LALISA or MONEY
There is so much vernacular for you to learn as you dive into KPop. And Blackpink is atypical, so keep an open mind. You’ll have a great journey. And your comment about dichotomy is spot on. Many groups have a light and dark side. The groups names sometimes indicate this. BlackPink, Red Velvet, etc.
BLACKPINK is the only kpop group or artist to have an official and complete performance at *COACHELLA* (the world's largest music festival) and their performance is ranked as one of the best in the festival's 20-year history.
Blackpink is the so cool girl group for me. The performance how you like that song is awesome too, including a clip of their dance practice.ddu du du,kill this love, love sick girl, pretty savage and more .
BLACKPINK (South Korean K-pop Group) Lisa - Born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. Rose - Born in Auckland, New Zealand, and Raised in Melbourne, Australia. Jennie - Born in South Korea, Grew up in Auckland, New Zealand, and then moved back to South Korea. Jisoo - Born and raised in South Korea.

Blackpink is the revolution! If you listen to K-pop bands from about ten years ago they do sound a lot like 90's girls bands/boybands. For that try: Girl's Generation - Gee Girls Day - Darling A-Pink - -no no no Orange Caramel - Catalena For more Blackpink check out the songs: Kill this love Whistle Boombayah Playing with fire As if it's your last Or pretty much everything they have done basically. Everything Blackpink touches turns to gold. Blink in your area!
Not miss gurl getting into Kpop😍😍 You should react to Ice cream or Lovesick girls!! Btw three of the girls (Jennie, Rosè and Lisa) Have a solo song you should react to that too!! Edit: There are also Kpop groups like: Twice, Itzy or Aespa I think you would love them!!
K-pop is just Korean popular music, so you're going to get a mix of all things. The comparable western music range would be from Lady Gaga to Taylor Swift to Beyonce and everything in between. Blackpink is a great one to start with and they have such fun, girl power songs!!! And the way Jennie and Lisa rap is
BLACKPINK POSITIONS *ROSE:* 🌹(my bias) 1:43 MAIN VOCALIST & LEAD DANCER *JENNIE* 1:28 MAIN RAPPER AND VOCALIST *LISA:* 2:27 MAIN DANCER, LEAD RAPPER AND SUB VOCALIST *JISOO* 1:35 VISUAL AND LEAD VOCALIST
Blackpink was the Biggest girlgroup in the world now, these girls are so talented, i hope you enjoy the first reaction to blackpink, btw all of blackpink music videos has a great high quality of production because they doesnt use green screen, all of their sets are real ,and also blackpink mv's and music always a good and high quality and also those4 girls has a full package, there is a rapper which is lisa the lead rapper and a main dancer, jennie the main rapper and vocalist and she can dance too,the vocalist is rose' or she was called chipmunks because of her voice, she is the main vocalist of the group and a lead dancer, and also last but not the least the oldest from the group, she was the sister of these 3 girls, she was the visual of the group and a lead vocalist . There are mv's got a billion of views which is BOOMBAYAH OR THEIR DEBUT SONG, DDU DU DDU DU, KILL THIS LOVE AND AS IF ITS YOUR LAST. BUT THERES MORE PLEASE REACT TO THIER OTHER SONGS AND MV'S WHICH IS LOVESICK GIRLS,ICE CREAM FEATURING SELENA GOMEZ,PLAYING WITH FIRE,STAY,WHISTLE, AND THEIR B-SIDES SONGS WHICH IS LOVE TO HATE ME, PRETTY SAVAGE, BET YOU WANNA FEATURING CARDI B. ,CRAZY OVER YOU,YOU NEVER KNOW,REALLY,SEE U LATER,FOREVER YOUNG,HOPE NOT,DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO,KICK IT,ROSE' SOLI SONG WHICH IS GONE AND ON THE GROUND,JENNIE "SOLO",kiss and make up featuring Dua lipa and sour candy with lady gaga.
When people reference the western boy/girl group eras of the 80s-00s they mostly reference the industry practice of companies arranging groups. While Kpop did take a lot of influence from that in the 1st Generation, it's evolved over time into its own unique global industry. It really is a generic term for pop and pop adjacent music coming from Korea so it covers a lot really. There is a group, idol, and band for every type of style from cute school kid concepts to hip hop/rnb. You have Blackpink who's western friendly sound plays super well globally and are fierce, you have idols like Jessi and CL for more rnb and rap, Twice Itzy G Idle and more for more straight kpop, and Red Velvet and Mamamoo for reknowned uber versatile groups that are hard to categorize by any meter other than they're some of the best music talent in the world. Just depends on what kind of music you want to hear from kpop and a fan group can connect faster than a train to Busan. Kpop is generally known for being heavily concept driven, visually bold, quick changing, featuring mixed music styles and heavy beat changes/bridge/dance breaks. Even if a song or group isn't your style you can appreciate all the work that went into it.
Thanks for reaction to BLACKPINK! ❤♥ They have 4 MV above 1 BILLION views. Please try them all. DDU-DU DUU-DU [1.7B] - Kill This Love [1.4B] - BOOMBAYAH [1.3B] - As If It's Your Last [1B]
Yo Molly, all BlackPink songs are top shelf so go check out all their discography, MVs, dance practices, etc. Check out their debut MVs with "Whistle" and "Boombaya" as well as their most viewed MV "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du" and "Kill This Love". Enjoy going down BP's turtle rabbit hole :)
BLACKPINK is the biggest Girl Group in the world at the moment, they are giants, their style is amazing and very striking and attracts a lot of people... About kpop itself, it's such an interesting world, for me the production is superior to what we're used to, it's all very well thought out, that's one of the reasons it attracts so much.
It is a take from the boy bands and girl bands of the late 90’s but on whole other level. Kpop is simply a combination of genres put together. That’s what makes it what it is. Plus their extra attention to their choreography
BLACKPINK has 2 concepts, BLACK: rude and urban and PINK: tender and sensual, if you like something more pink react to: - AS IF ITS YOUR LAST (MV) - LOVESICK GIRLS (MV) - PLAYING WITH FIRE (MV) - STAY (MV)
Hi Molly! Welcome to the rabbit hole. I hope the Blinks (Blackpink fans) are all welcoming (they usually are). K-pop is not really a genre, but more about the country of origin of the label. Some of the artists and songs are much more like what you imagined. The various K-pop idols do have some things in common. They typically have come from a rigorous multi-year training program, much like an Olympic athlete (Blackpink trained 2-5 years before their debut in 2016). The groups almost always include a mix of singers and rappers, but the songs can be of any genre. They often include more than one genre, including EDM, hip-hop, pop, R&B, country, and traditional music from many cultures. They are less constrained by typical western song structure, so there are often surprising transitions and blends of styles. Have fun with your exploration!
Every blackpink member is so down to earth even if came from wealthy family but that doesn't mean that growing up rich means you're rich yourself, our girls manage to take their own paths and earn money by theirselves. They came from YG ENTERTAINMENT, one of the Biggest Record Labels and Entertainment Company in South Korea and the company of powerhouse artists like IKON, 1TYM, 2NE1, PSY, BIGBANG, WINNER, TREASURE, BLACKPINK and etc. YG Entertainment CEO is Yang Hyun Suk. The American record labels and Korean record labels are completely different. In America a label will scout you and pick you up as an artist. In Korea, you audition at a company in hope of being a trainee. If you pass and become a trainee, you train for years in sing/rapping and dancing and other things to debut. The company will then decide whether or not they’ll debut you in a group or as a solo artist. You debut with people you’ve been training with. Blackpink started training together since they were 14-15 years old, and they debuted in August 2016. Blackpink when signing contract in their company it states that they are fobidden in 6 things----- drinking, smoking, clubbing, driving, plastic surgery and dating. Back when they are trainees they are not allowed to interact or talk to the male trainees, in the YG Building it has a dining hall so the male and female trainees eat at different time and the mangers and body guards are observing them. Blackpink won their first award after 13 days of debut, the fastest to win an award in a short period of time. Their MV's is the most viewed video in 24hours with 83.4M views. BLACKPINK BROKE FIVE GUINESS WORLD RECORD JUST FOR THEIR SONG HOW YOU LIKE THAT, DDU DU DDU DU and more. Unfortunately, BLACKPINK don't get enough credits for their participation in songwriting their songs. This is a fact. For example, Jennie admitted that she wrote STAY in one of the behind the scene video. It is a clip of Blackpink reality show on TH-cam. In that clip, Jennie reveal the reason why she felt very emotional whenever they perform the STAY live is that she is the songwriter. I also found out that when they release AS IF ITS YOUR LAST, they an interview. During that interview, Lisa admitted taht she wrote the rap verse for As If Its Your Last. She even said that its longer than she thought it is. On their SO HOT performance also who's remix by THEBLACKLABEL, it is revealed that Lisa wrote the rap parts. During the SURETHING cover, the rap parts verses was obviously changed and there Jennie and Lisa admitted taht they wrote the new verse. Jisoo also written the lyrics for her covers such as, Calrity and Habits. During an interview, Tushar Apte one of the producer who work on one of Blackpink's song, LOVE TO HATE ME, revealed that Danny Chung and Lisa write the rap verse for Love To Hate Me together. This is what Tushar Apte said during his interview, Question: Was the first draft you submitted instantly approved or did the members share their feedback with you to work on? Tushar Apte's answer: We pretty much got it right the first time on this! Which isn't common at all, but ofcourse Lisa and Danny Chung had to go and write the amazing rap verse that really takes the record to the whole new level! However, if you look at their credits for their song such as Love To Hate Me, you won't find their name on the credits list for some song. However, it seems like YG learn their lesson recently. BLACKPINK was accredited for their work on their recent song such as LOVESICK GIRLS. Rosé was accredited for writing lyrics and composing song for her solo, ON THE GROUND and GONE. Below are the lists of Brands and Fashion Events endorsed and attended by BLACKPINK: BLACKPINK Lisa's 'LALISA' raise its influence, because BLACKPINK once again the number 1 most subcribed artist with 68.6M subcribers surpassing Justin Bieber, Lalisa became the most most viewed MV in 24 hours by a soloist with 76.3M views surpassing Taylor Swift's "ME" with 65M views, LALISA also the fastest MV of a soloist to reach 100M views and BLACKPINK suddenly invited by United Nations to be an ambassador. GROUP POSITION: LISA: Main Dancer, Lead Rapper, Sub Vocalist JENNIE: Main Rapper, Lead Vocalist ROSÉ: Main Vocalist, Lead Dancer JISOO: Main Visual, Lead Vocalist Actually, the whole "main rapper", "main dancer", "lead rapper" position label thing is a kind of fan fiction. YGE (their production company) does not use those position labels and has never officially or permanently assigned "main", "lead" and "sub" positions. Hence there is no official "main rapper" or "main dancer" or "main vocal" in the group. (I know Kpop fans are constantly repeating that "main", "lead" and "sub" position meme and make assumptions about members' skill rankings based on those labels, but the labels are not real and do not come from their company.) The members of the group also don't use those titles/labels when talking about their roles in the group. The rappers in the group are Lisa and Jennie. Both of them are very good. And Lisa's dancing skills are amazing. And Vocalists are impressive as well. Welcome to the world of kpop industry 😆 hope, you'll enjoy the ride - there are definitely lots of surprises waiting for you. There are probably others who will explain the main characteristics of the kpop industry like that the band members like in Blackpink are trained to be idols, there is a full choreographed dance to almost each song that they perform live while singing (to this song also), you can't recognize the idols by their hair or styling because it varies in each song they bring out etc. As a blink myself (oh yes, each fandom of each group has its own name - the fandom of Blackpink is called Blinks) I'm looking forward to more Blackpink songs 😆 But I also hope you'll check out many more kpop bands to see the variety of mixing the music genres that kpop offers 😊
Just to give you a little background on Blackpink: Blackpink debuted in 2016, they trained for 4 to 6 years before they could debut:
Jennie (1:27): born in Korea in 96 and lived 5 years in New Zealand, she is the main rapper and lead vocalist.
@BrightForest you don't have to be Korean to be an idol Lisa had her audition in Thailand same as Rose had hers in Australia
5 wings with 1 billion now 👏🏻👏🏻
Starting your kpop journey with blackpink is just perfect.
they are, in my opinion, the best group I have ever come across.
ya
Just about to say the same thing..
K-pop is more of an industry than a genre. They will cover pretty much any genre, often times in the same song. BLACKPINK and BTS are the two that have the most international success.
If you want a more poppy song from them, check out their songs "As If Its Your Last" and "Lovesick Girls".
I love Blackpink, the biggest girl group worldwide.
Fun fact: they rarely use green screens for their music videos most of it are real set. 😊
*rarely.

As one person has commented before BlackPink and especially the groups that are in YG (their company) have a more Hip-hop and EDM style.

That's what blackpink sets apart from other kpop girl groups. Their concepts, and baddass attitude. Their songs are more hiphop, powerful, like that. You will totally love them
@Andro Io wth you talking about? Is bp and 2ne1 the same era? Lol
@Andro Io yeah i know. What are trying to prove? Lol I'm saying, in this new gen.
@Andro Io oh no worries it's fine!
tbh i think it's more fair to say it's Teddy Park that's different from other producers.

Kpop is nothing like 90s groups! Their talent and songs and production and choreography are all on a totally higher level!
Next: blackpink - Kill this love

They’re heaviest songs are the Japanese singles, such as Endless Night and No More
Most girl groups tend to follow one of two styles: A cute girl concept or a darker and grittier girl crush concept.
Biggest music artist channel in the world on TH-cam recently just surpassing Justin Bieber. and Biggest girl group in the world not just in kpop.
Check out Forever Young dance practice video. You will be amazed with their talents
Rosé, the girl with silver hair, has a real Indie style in her recent solo *ON THE GROUND* th-cam.com/video/CKZvWhCqx1s/w-d-xo.html (it's all English, which is her first language as she grew up in New Zealand and Australia.)
For more more of her smooth unique voice, she was recently on a TV reality show called SEA OF HOPE, the performances were all on the beach for a small group of people. Rosé was the first special guest on the show, she performed great covers and one of her own songs, she played guitar and keyboards on a few as well: Here are Rosé's performances on the show:

Wow it’s cool to see you react to blackpink. I’ve been watching this reaction channel forever, I’m use to fantasy and sci-fi shows, but I’m glad your branching out. It will be a lot of fun watching you go down this rabbit hole. Get ready for blinks to start subscribing to your channel
I'm SOOOOO happy you've reacted to K-Pop! This is a rabbit hole you're never gunna wanna come out of now, trust me. 💗💗💗
Blackpink number wise is the biggest girl group in history 🖤💗
While I am a huge Blackpink fan, here are some other representative girl groups to check out:
"Psycho" - by Red Velvet
"Yes or Yes" - Twice
"Oh My God" - (G)-IDLE
Blackpink is huge - they have 4 music videos with over 1 billion views each - and "How you Like That" is only 6 million short of joining that list. They debuted in 2016 with "Boombayah" and "Whistle". They played Coachella in 2019. There is even a Netflix Documentary about them - "Blackpink: Light Up The Sky". Enjoy the ride - Kpop is entertaining, if nothing else.
TOPIC: BLACKPINK JENNIE
Her full real name is Kim Jennie (김제니), but other Blackpink members call her "Jendeukie." Sometimes, she is also called "Nini.
WHY PEOPLE LOVES JENNIE MORE AND MORE:
HER LOVELY PERSONALITY
she is a pretty, lovely, humble and sweet person but she can be savage and funny at the same time.
HER PASSION and DETERMINATION
jennie is a kind of person who get out of breath, get hurt and get tired easily. one time on their concert she sprain her ankle while going down the stair, but she just continue to do the show and stays strong for the the blinks. during also on their concert she's not feeling well but she continue to give her best and would never give less, but the staff want her to feel better that's why the members continue the show without her and told the members told the fans that jennie just not feeling very well and she's thankful for blinks to make it to their concert.
HER BEING INDEPENDENT and GREAT ROLE MODEL
she is an only child, being strong indepent she is, i really admire her for that. she goes to korea to train all by herself because she has the passion to reach and achieve her dreams. we all know blackpink members are rich even before they became blackpink but they didn't look at theirselves higher than anyone and when you became a trainee you just have yourself, trainees are ostensibly allowed to communicate with their parents, the nature of the beast doesn't leave much time for it.
HER THOUGHTFULNESS
During their 1st Private Stage with Blinks. She really wants to perform for blinks other than performing their song, so she ask help from Rosé and the member of their own concert band to teach her how too play guitar so she practices it until the end of their world tour concert before the private stage.
HER GOOD HEART
BLACKPINK have donated 40M KRW (34,000 USD) for restoration of the highland and to help support the victims of Sokcho forest fire.
HER BEING GRATEFUL and APPRECIATIVE
Every fanmeets, concert or other events they would always got expensive gifts from fans.
She is the 2nd most followed KPOP Idol in Instagram with 55.2M followers and the most followed Korean Kpop Idol. She can play guitar. She is a singer, rapper, dancer, composer, song writer, model and she is also a fashion Icon where she models, represent, and she is the ambassador of the following famous and luxury brands:

Welcome to the family of blinks ♡
The whole concept of Blackpink is that they have both a pop-y softer "pretty" side (their pink side) and the "savage" hardcore, more hip hop inclined side (their black side).
So going through their body of work you can expect to get different styles and genres but always playing with this dicotomy and delivering sick beats, fire coreographIes, fashion on point and Music Videos production level that will blow your mind.
If you are interested in getting to know more about their music, I recommend you to check it out:
Bombayah (their debut song)
Du ddu du ddu (their biggest hit to date)
Kill This Love (a whole banger that showcase some of their most girlpower moments)
Pretty Savage (there's no MV but you can find incredible live performances from it.. it's an awesome song about their own awesomeness 😅)
Whistle (their debut song together with Bombayah, already showcasing their versatility with a lighter and very original beat)
Lovesick girls (a softer song that shows a whole other side to them, toying with a lot of musical genres)
As if it's your last (their most bubblegum song to date)
Ice cream feat Selena Gomez (a whole bop, so pop so fun so bright, also a full english sumemer song)

NEXT RECOMMENDATION
BLACKPINK song as a group:
- DDU-DU-DDU-DU (Link: m.th-cam.com/video/IHNzOHi8sJs/w-d-xo.html)
2 solo songs from a mini album by one BLACKPINK member named LISA. Recently she just released her first solo album and she's the 3rd one within the group to be finally get her chance to start her own project as a Kpop soloist. The 1st member to get her solo project was JENNIE and the 2nd one is ROSÉ, but for now i'm gonna be focusing more into LISA's stuff cuz it's still pretty recent, so hopefully you could add these 2 songs into your upcoming reaction playlist: 😎🙏
- LALISA (m.th-cam.com/video/awkkyBH2zEo/w-d-xo.html)
- MONEY (m.th-cam.com/video/dNCWe_6HAM8/w-d-xo.html)
REMINDER
- For DDU-DU-DDU-DU and LALISA you still gonna need the english translation so always make sure that the CC's already ON specificly before starting the music video
- As for MONEY, tho it's not really a music video and doesn't has any CC in it but you still can enjoy the video cuz the song technically will be in full english and the whole video will gonna show you a cinematography-type of performance video...
FOR PERSONAL LEARNING
- Wanna know about KPOP a bit more properly? Then you could check a spesific series called "KPOP EVLOTION" from TH-cam Originals, still on going but the first season been done a while ago and you could watch all of 7 episodes from the 1st just for free
- But if you also looking for some basic introduction into BLACKPINK as a whole group then you could go through NETFLIX, set some popcorn and watch these official film documentary called "BLACKPINK LIGHT UP THE SKY"
ENJOY 😀👌
I'm a Blink (their fandom's name) so that's why I watched your reaction. All Korean acts sound and look different, which is why it's misleading to lump it all into one category called "K-Pop." I pounced on that sub button because your analysis was very detailed and I look forward to more!
This is the first time watching one of your reactions so I have no idea of the type of music you prefer, but the Korean music industry is so diverse that you will find many songs and artists you will like. Even the same group will usually have music spanning lots of genres. I highly recommend two of the legendary groups - Bigbang and SHINee.
It seems you are still a little camera shy, but I am very glad you enjoyed it! Also love your hair!!!
Keep it up!
Good luck! Luv ya!
I loved this because it’s the first reaction I’ve seen in a while that actually feels genuine. Thank you!
Thank for react
There's a lot of fantastic songs from Blackpink! Continue to react to them. Thanks!😊
Du-ddu-Du-ddu or
Kill this love, nxt
It'll get easier to recognize all four of them. You should react to Lisa's (the girl with the bangs that rapped after the chorus) solo called LALISA or MONEY
There is so much vernacular for you to learn as you dive into KPop. And Blackpink is atypical, so keep an open mind. You’ll have a great journey.
And your comment about dichotomy is spot on. Many groups have a light and dark side. The groups names sometimes indicate this. BlackPink, Red Velvet, etc.
Yuppp... They are the biggest gg in world right now.... Chek their coatchella performance 😍😍
Next; Kill this live + ddu du ddu du
Welcome to Blackpink ☺, please keep it coming, new follower here

BLACKPINK is the only kpop group or artist to have an official and complete performance at *COACHELLA* (the world's largest music festival) and their performance is ranked as one of the best in the festival's 20-year history.
Once you enter to the world of Blackpink there is no going back 👀 They will always be iconic and we love to see it, welcome to blackpink's world sis 🛐
So glad to see people stepping outside their comfort zone! I would recommended their other songs “Kill This Love”!
Blackpink brought me into kpop and they are still my favorite
Blackpink is the so cool girl group for me.

Not only do i love this kpop reaction, but the mortal kombat in the background
Blackpink is the revolution! If you listen to K-pop bands from about ten years ago they do sound a lot like 90's girls bands/boybands. For that try:
Girl's Generation - Gee
Girls Day - Darling
A-Pink - -no no no
Orange Caramel - Catalena
For more Blackpink check out the songs:
Kill this love
Whistle
Boombayah
Playing with fire
As if it's your last
Or pretty much everything they have done basically. Everything Blackpink touches turns to gold. Blink in your area!

K- music. K- movie. K- drama. K- Beauty.
It's just the beginning.💜
Of course ............... amazing Kpop girlgroup
OMG I love BLACKPINK!!!! You need to see their MVs theyre sooo good :)
K-pop is just Korean popular music, so you're going to get a mix of all things. The comparable western music range would be from Lady Gaga to Taylor Swift to Beyonce and everything in between. Blackpink is a great one to start with and they have such fun, girl power songs!!! And the way Jennie and Lisa rap is
actually they where the Korea culture cloth Hanbok some part that is not really traditional but made morden that is morden Hanbok

They have 4 MV above 1 BILLION views. Please try them all.

You just react to the biggest girl group worldwide.
reaction to CRACK GUIDE OF BLACKPINK ??💜💜
Queen behavior wifey 💕
BLACKPINK is the biggest Girl Group in the world at the moment, they are giants, their style is amazing and very striking and attracts a lot of people...
About kpop itself, it's such an interesting world, for me the production is superior to what we're used to, it's all very well thought out, that's one of the reasons it attracts so much.
u have to see du du du or kill this love
It is a take from the boy bands and girl bands of the late 90’s but on whole other level. Kpop is simply a combination of genres put together. That’s what makes it what it is. Plus their extra attention to their choreography
Loved it!!
BLACKPINK has 2 concepts, BLACK: rude and urban and PINK: tender and sensual, if you like something more pink react to:
- AS IF ITS YOUR LAST (MV)
- LOVESICK GIRLS (MV)
- PLAYING WITH FIRE (MV)
- STAY (MV)
Kill this love, dudu dudu, boombaya... three have solos as well... Rosè, Jennie and Lisa. Lisa's lalisa and money are on the charts now... enjoy.
Would love to see more BlackPink reactions 😊🐻💯🙏 thanks for reacting
Omg queen

BLACKPINK IS THE BIGGEST GIRL GROUP IN THE WORLD.
This is what Tushar Apte said during his interview,
Question: Was the first draft you submitted instantly approved or did the members share their feedback with you to work on?
Below are the lists of Brands and Fashion Events endorsed and attended by BLACKPINK:
BLACKPINK Lisa's 'LALISA' raise its influence, because BLACKPINK once again the number 1 most subcribed artist with 68.6M subcribers surpassing Justin Bieber, Lalisa became the most most viewed MV in 24 hours by a soloist with 76.3M views surpassing Taylor Swift's "ME" with 65M views, LALISA also the fastest MV of a soloist to reach 100M views and BLACKPINK suddenly invited by United Nations to be an ambassador.

LANGUAGES SPOKEN:
FUN FACT: YG ARTISTS ARE EXPECTED TO KNOW HOW TO SPEAK JAPANESE BECAUSE THEY'RE LEARNING IT SINCE TRAINEE DAYS AND THEY HAVE YGE BUILDING BASE IN JAPAN.
LISA: Thai, English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and currently learning french with Jennie
JENNIE: English, Korean, Japanese and Learning French
ROSÉ: English, Japanese and Korean
JISOO: Korean, Japanese and English (can't speak very well but she understand its really well).
GROUP POSITION:
LISA: Main Dancer, Lead Rapper, Sub Vocalist
JENNIE: Main Rapper, Lead Vocalist
ROSÉ: Main Vocalist, Lead Dancer
JISOO: Main Visual, Lead Vocalist
Actually, the whole "main rapper", "main dancer", "lead rapper" position label thing is a kind of fan fiction.

I started listening to Kpop in the Summer of 2016, and it was BlackPink's "As If It's Your Last". My current favorite is GFRIEND Mago.
As a blink myself (oh yes, each fandom of each group has its own name - the fandom of Blackpink is called Blinks) I'm looking forward to more Blackpink songs 😆 But I also hope you'll check out many more kpop bands to see the variety of mixing the music genres that kpop offers 😊
keep reacting to blackpink coz they're almost 70m blinks(blackpink fans) in the world
touché😂 my first kpop song was how u like that too
