- Today we test the Traxxas Xmaxx 8S by jumping off a cliff from a Freshpark Moto Ramp. Upgraded parts are RPM rear hubs, Traxxas heavy duty arms and High Torque servo with metal gears TRA2085X. Will it survive?

This is hilarious. I was watching the video thinking that cliff face in the back looked like the orv park in Spokane that I used to hit all the time when I was in in the military. So awesome. That was a great place to ride at! Cool video!

I bought an XMaxx two months ago. I like the truck, but the stock steering servo is substandard for this kind of vehicle. It stripped out and I sent it in to Traxxas. They sent me another one. Installed it....and it didn;t even last a whole battery pack before it stripped out again. I broke down and got that Promodler630 servo and aluminum servo horn. Just got it yesterday. Have yet to install it... hopefully it lives up to the hype...
I agree the stock servo isnt very strong, hopefully the promodler630 holds up 😁
From everything I’ve seen, Traxxas did a hell of a good job with this car. Maybe one day I’ll jump up to eighth scale but man the difference in price from everything from initial purchase price to all of the replacement parts is such a sharp increase!
They are 5th scale
5th scale I think is more cheaper to run the something like a slash! I spent $700 in repair and performance part on my slash. Granted my slash has every hop up imaginable from spiral diffs to chasis brace and STRC backslash conversion. But the Xmaxx needs few upgrades and it's unstoppable
Good ol 7 mile always makes for a good bash spot.. Sending it down into the bowl is nuts!

Well damm that thing took a good beating, my rustler and stampede vxl are durable as well. These new battery rc cars are amazing compared to the money pit nitro ones I’ve wasted years on lol 😂 I’m getting xmaxx soon and looking to make a few necessary upgrades right away, thanks for all the videos and actually answering people’s replies when they gage questions, lol stay safe bro and keep it up

@@FivoNine The upper and lower suspension arms, the rpm rear axle carriers and the center drive shat. i went with a integy. we'll see if it holds up.

Great video! Looks like TSM was trying to correct itself in the big air jump. Did you have TSM turned off?
No I had to have it On in order to make at the jump 😆 tried without it and was too hard to hit the jump at a good angle 😊

When your sending it turn your tsm all the way off. You can tell it’s on when flying through the air. Wheels are Turing and what not
Yea I tried it a few times with it off but the run up isn't smooth and kept missing the jump lol 😂

I have a lot of R/C's and always tell people if you want a R/C car just to bash and have fun with the XMAXX is the way to go, and if you don't want to spend that much than go for the MAXX..but honestly after driving a Xmaxx you will want one.

Did you get the 2085x servo? How is it holding up and is it a must on these cars? I just bought my xmaxx a week ago
I did get the 2085x but it didnt hold up very long. Right now I have the Powerhobby 729MBL and is holding up good

Where do you set your ride height/spring tension for doing jumps on the XMaxx?
I would recommend changing the springs overall to different stiffness and thicker shock oil to do big jumps😊

@@FivoNine something is grinding by the motor.I suspect the pinion or spur gear.I hav emit had a chance to calm down and not take a hammer to it.So pizzed off right now.🤬
Lots of times the pinion gear will fall off, Its a well know problem 😬
@@FivoNine that is what happened.I ended up epoxying it on after Loctite failed.Now I have to get it up from the bottom of the lake some how😩

I left there in 2006 and still remember that place. I lived a few miles up the road and would ride my dirt bike there most days after work.

It used to be PACKED. There would be 100 trucks, and 100 dirt bikes and 100 rock crawlers on the backside, plus all the people who would just go there and tailgate. Weird to see it empty like that.
