Absolutely loving that RC bash/modified videos. This is why your channel is unmatched.
Before we had lypos and were stuck with nimh i built a rc car from various parts some kyosho (sp?) team losi and traxxas parts all mashed together put on to a custom plate aluminum chassis and used 2 metal rods cut from a old ink jet printer to make chassis stiffeners i fastened to the bottom plate. I used some more metal rods to make a shock system for a front crash guard. When you have and rc car that does about 70mph and weighs in around 6+ pounds potentially slamming in to curbs you want all the protection you can get! I had a cop friend of mine uses his laser speed gun new tech at the time to clock it it hit 73mph flat out every thin in the transmission was basically custom. I had issues with the tires blowing up and ended up cutting rubber discs from a truck mud flaps that i glued up in layers drilled them and balanced them. Never had any issues with tires blowing up after that LOL
It ran on a novak speed controller brushed of course back then i believe it was a 4 to 12 or 4 to 14 cell esc . Haven't done much with rc cars since to be honest

Wow what a weak car ! I can't believe the chassis snapped just because you'd removed most of the material that makes it strong then fitted 115000 rpm then gave it full raz wheels off the ground with a half loaded ripped tyre! They don't make em as strong as they used to eh keV 😂😂😂

I gotta say, yes, this was very entertaining 😂 But watching that Gorgon get so destroyed physically hurt my soul 🤣 I love my Gorgon. It was my very first Arrma purchase and it’s probably my favorite RC car right now. I love that it looks, drives, and feels like the RC cars we had as kids way back in the 80’s. After buying the Gorgon, I now also have a Granite 3s 4x4 and the Outcast 4s. Great video, Kev. Keep them coming brother 🙌🏼

Hi Kev. The Gorgon can handle the power. The tires are garbage, but if you use Typhon 3s 17mm hexes, you can run street tires. I did and I'm at 70 mph on 4s and 76 mph on 6s with a dinky little 3800kv motor. The quest for 100 continues
It wont go 100 mph the way it sits. You would have to do some serious custom Aero for the front end downforce and lower it to the ground. Otherwise it's going to bow over and be unstable. I'm surprised you got it to 75 without it doing a wheelie and looping out every time you hit the throttle. Do you have a video of your speed runs? Gorgon is not meant for speed. 100mph isn't easy with an onroad 1/10 scale RC car without any custom aerodynamic changes to improve downforce.

These videos are fun...but 99% ppl watching are just regular users on lower budgets and want to see best and realistic results (but also enjoy the fun) if they were to buy it.... *wreck, backflip, backflip, wreck, flip, backflip and on and on* when KNOWING all you hafta do is add weight to the front as make an easy wheelie bar? THAT is what the ppl wanna see! That thing had a TON more than 54 MPH in it! a TON MORE! Have always loved your stuff Kev!

I loaded the exact same system to an all aluminum WLToys 124019 custom build. It lasted about 20 seconds - went airborne at about 60mph and is now sitting in pieces waiting to be rebuilt.
The over volted 2WD speed competition is a great idea! Best of 5! I'll have to try something similar with my brother.

I continue to be surprised by how realistic the seemingly wacky physics effects seen in BeamNG are. Many of the high aspect ratio tires expand just like that at high speeds, particularly when suspended in the air.
(The normal car tires typically just pop around 250-300 mph, which is apparently also realistic, judging by the fact the record breaking Chiron needed specially engineered tires to hit ~300)
You know I would still take that car broken just so I can say I have an RC from the best RC TH-cam channel.

I have a hell of a CA glue story.
I know a guy who worked in a warehouse that supplied auto manufactures, One of the things they carried was quarts of super thin CA glue. One day a picker noticed two bottles were stuck together and on a high shelf. He attempted to unstuck the bottles while still on the shelf at head level when one of the bottles ripped and drenched his face and chest in super thin CA. Back to my friend who was working in the office when he heard a blood curdling scream, Him and a couple other people came running to the un fortunate man rolling on the floor, smoking and screaming with one hand glued to his face. Anyone who came close had their eyes stung shut with those fumes CA gives off. EMS came, had to peel him off the floor and take him away. Poor guy ended up getting some very nasty chemical burns across his chest and face and lost some vision. Also had a very bad cough for several months afterwards and said he couldn't taste anything.
Moral of the story, Be careful with CA glue.
