So, a little bit of fact about this episode : the Doctor's speech was recorded only once. One take is all it took for Peter to say it perfectly, the whole crew was astonished by the performance and most reactions we see from them are genuine because his acting is absolutely amazing. And I say that while I wasn't a big fan of Capaldi when he first became the Doctor.

Capaldi's Doctor is essentially everything Matt Smith's tried to hide. I like the theory there's a subconscious indirect control of the Doctor's regeneration (mainly evidenced by how the Doctor went from a semi-passive and caring Five to an arrogant and commanding Six based on the events that happened as Five), and I think the change from Eleven to Twelve fits this as well. Eleven's change is to be who the Doctor is instead of hiding it beneath the facade of a bumbling child, and that's where Twelve comes in who embodies everything Eleven hid, but he goes through the arc of not being sure if who the Doctor is, is a "good man" or not. Eleven has certain moments where the facade goes away and you see who he truly is, the facade is completely gone when the young face is removed in place of the elderly, wise, tired man who doesn't know who he really is because of hiding it for so long.

except (for new who at least) the "real" doctor was Ten. even when he wanted to hide his true self, every single one of his emotions were written on his face. That's what he became after Rose healed Nine, he was at his happiest in s2, and then, after losing more and more, regenerated into Eleven with a carefree and childlike attitude to try and forget all the loss he experienced. Eleven then spends 800 years protecting Christmas Town, committing to a place despite previously not being able to stay at one place for a day, immersing himself into a community, and being his kindest self for the people, because in the end of the day that's what he strives to be and who he is. And then all of it is thrown out of the window when Twelve comes in in s8. Suddenly he's not compassionate anymore, needs guidance to find kindness within him, he's calculated and cold hearted, letting people around him die, when 9, 10 and 11 would cherish and mourn every soul they'd come across and lose.
No, Eleven didn't hide Twelve. Twelve is 800 years older than Eleven was for 99% of his run. If anything it's a transition, but that is poorly written, bc Eleven getting tired and suddenly growing cold in his years spent on Trenzalore makes no sense to me.
Twelve is better in s9 and thankfully s10 exists, where he's still grumpy but only seemingly cold, when in reality he's truly compassionate. His s8 characterization is a disaster though, and doesn't tie in with Eleven

Watching them (and Aaron tear up) and declare that Peter is their favorite Doctor, idk man, it just felt super rewarding and satisfying. Remember the treaty between Zygons and humans was made before Capaldi even became the Doctor (literally, one episode before) so there were two Osgoods before we even MET Missy. And then Missy killed one and that's why you see one Osgood mourning at the grave of the other one at the beginning of the previous episode.
I don't feel like the Doctor was saying that this exact situation has happened 15 times, just that Kate or other people (the Doctor and the Osgoods excluded, they're supposed to know) found out the boxes were empty 15 times. If they'd gotten this close to all-out war 15 times already, I'd like to think they would have changed a few things around. So while it's still statistically more likely that the original human Osgood is dead, its not as unlikely as you think.

Twelve's most defining moment. Out of all the Doctors, I truly believe Twelve has the most profound speeches and lines, which really sees how torn apart he really is and yet he manages to have a such a love for everyone and it's honestly beautiful to watch and listen to. It's also amazing how very relevant and topical this is given our current climate; everyone always demands justice in this world, everyone wants to revolt against the corrupt establishment, but human history is an endless series of revolts against establishments, and those revolts create new establishments, which will, before long, be revolted against. By far one of this show's greatest moments and a great story in its own right, which is more than could be said of the next episode...

As some others have said, the dead Osgood was the one Missy killed. The one we see in Truth or Consequences at the start of the previous episode is the one that gets captured and the Doctor rescues.
Also, just because the boxes have been used 15 times, doesn't mean an Osgood died each time. So Calvin's 50/50 odds each time isn't something that makes sense. Based on the Doctor's interactions with Osgood and him asking if she is the human or zygon it's reasonable to assume only 1 Osgood has ever died.
