crispiegee1, you are correct about the pronunciation, otherwise you are wrong. It is indeed a transverse v-twin. Transverse means the cylinders are at right angles to the bike. If it was longitudinal, the cylinders would be fore and aft, not across as the are.

I own a 1200 Sport, I've ridden it under all conditions (snowy roads included) and I'm extremely happy with it. Unlogical? Not more than the Tuono R that a friend had to sell.
Not so much as bulletproof, but you can rebuild them, and still get parts to do so. Though I do know of a couple of Guzzi's with over 200K that have never been rebuilt.

1.- You didn't listen to the review. He pointed out some cons in the bike. 2.- How many modern Guzzis have you ridden not to be fooled?
Good Review...In Canada, I would prefer the M-G 'cuz the cylindres actually keep your knees from freezing...and the huge tank [at least on the NTX]....and they are supposed to be supercomfy, for my big bony old frame......and now you tell me the gas mileage is that bad....hmm...does the 4v eat more gas than the NTX\adventure model? anybody?....thx.
I own one I love it 36000 km no issues none but I bought a 2014 now its mellower on the top end is there anyone who can verify this claim? Can I reflash the ECU to make it more like the 09?
@BruceBrown11 The definition of longitudinal is that the crankshaft runs parallel to the vehicle centerline. Transverse means it runs perpendicular to the vehicle centerline. It is not based on what "looks" sideways or what Harley does, it is standard engineering nomenclature. Occasionally, Guzzi's own marketing materials will say transverse simply to satisfy idiots here who think Harley's is the "right" way, but they also say "OHC" which it isn't. Trust me, Guzzi *engineers* know better.
Come on, Guzzis are bulletproof. Compare the number of, say, 1975 Eldorados still on the road compared to say the number of Kawasakis from that same year that are still on the road. The Kawasaki's are nearly all gone, rusting away in Boneyards, but the Guzzis are still on the road. Same with BMWs -- old world European shafties are bulletproof.
@crispiegee1 "Gootsie" ... really funny :-))) Built in Mondello , on the lake of Como, Italy : beautifull place... land of bikers, hundreds, all around, every week end, sometimes overcrowded and boring...
1.- I fix and service bikes for a living 2.- The cons of the bike are, is that it is a guzzi, I do like guzzi's in there own little be individual way but its just the way theyre put together... with no logic
They have logic, it's just not YOUR logic. There is more than one way of doing things, more than one way to live, more than one way to engineer things. Citroen cars used to be really different and really cool. Viva La Difference.
Dude, have a coffee, and get excited, you review bikes for a living!
The anesthesia is starting to kick in
Count down from 10
Despite this unflattering review, I give 5 stars to this vid's rating based on its great camera-work.
David Hough made his bones riding Moto Guzzi. This brand is very well known, especially for durability, but also racing models are made.
The problem with the brakes is the kevlar pads. Once you change them to the HH pads, all is good.
You want more stopping power than 4 piston twin Brembo's? Are you trying to do a front flip?

Good reviews guys; this is more of what we like to see aye. The only italian firm id trust is aprilia though...
were you going through a divorce while reviewing this//jeez you sound depressed !
The proper pronunciation is goot-see. The "zz" is pronounced like they are in "pizza".
It’s even “Good-zee”
#1 It's pronounced "Gootsie"
#2 It's not a transverse V-twin, it's longitudinal
#3 Ditto for BMW's longitudinal boxer

Why did you bother, did you have a directive to discourage interest ?
Find another occupationj.

Good review, cheers
I have over 90K on my Duck, zero problems.

Can you imagine this guy got paid to do this? Really?
cool, wouldn't trust an italian bike though! :)
rival for the bmw gs or is it more road-based?
but do you thrash it? ride it in rain sleet and snow? Do you you miss service intervals?

Grande moto!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MOTO GUZZI RULES!!!!

C'mon, heavy bikes didn't stop Ewan and Charlie, did they?
Moto Guzzi builds very reliable bikes
Guzzis are the best!
Red Bull & Vodka!
I agree. Bart needs to take a nap and down a Red Bull before reviewing the next bike.
Nice, but it's fuel mileage makes my Duck seem like a miser.
noooo.....in Canada; pronounced " Motor-Gutsy"
In Italy also "goot-zi". You don't say pissa... You say PEET-ZA same difference.
me too!

My God that's the sexiest looking bike ever, if I tbrew my leg over that I'd be super excited, how could you sound so underwhelmed!

@360Twin Probably an undiagnosed case of type 2 diabetes with hyperglycemia. That or depression.
geez mate good review but you sound like you just woke up!

See my post above.
They seem to like to say 'uh' a lot. I would fire him to. He isn't a very good vocalist.
well... a moto guzzi rep would say that... but come on.. who are fooling!?
Just don't crash? lol

These guys don't "get" Guzzis!
Is this guy on heroin?
....this sucked
