    I have a 2009 Stelvio - closest thing to a Ferrari that I’ll ever own. Makes my 1200 GS feel like an appliance.

      @@bikerman6907 the seat height is adjustable , but not as high as GS. Parts are no problem, but as with all bikes getting older, some trouble could be expected I suppose. Used parts can be available, and Norsk Moto Guzzi Klubb has members with extreme knowledge and even the oddest parts laying around, it seems!

    On start-up and out on the road, it still sounds like a T-3 or an SP1000.
    This is a lovely machine.
    I am not sure I would describe the motor as transverse. The crank is mounted in line with the direction of travel.
    Nonetheless, a nice video about a lovely machine.
    Enjoy it!

    Hey mate I loved your vid especially cus you had the balls to buy something unique, uncommon and Italian she's a beauty. I feel ya as I have an Aprilia Caponord 1200 and rode across Australia and it did me proud and I love it. So that all said I am super keen to see the new Guzzi V100 Stelvio esp as Aprilia & Guzzi have put their heads together for that one. Anyways congrats on your awesome purchase and safe riding my man!

    By the way, as standard, only one of the High Beams is connected.
    If you look at the Wiring Diagram, the R/H one only has two Wires going to it (Low Beam Power & Earth), the L/H one has three.
    Have you found the Glovebox yet?
    Ignition on, Bike in Neutral, press the Switch on the lower front of the L/H Switchgear.
    That 'lump' on the R/H side of the Tank Cover opens up, there's a useful little Cubby-Hole under it.

    Learn about the Roller rocker upgrade, they all (Pre 2013) need it done. The Flat tappets that are fitted will fail , they all do eventualy some early some later. Just did mine & a Beetle map also, made it so much better.

    I've had my 2012 Stelvio 1200 NTX since new in Australia. The only 'major' problem I've had is a failed starter motor which I easily replaced - the bike is so easy to work on as cylinders stick out and no fairing. I've done quite a few modifications to it including an ECU re-map to smooth out the throttle - got from GuzziTech in Orange, Calfornia and recommend contacting Todd Eagan who knows a lot about Guzzi's.

    Great video and awesome bike Vitale! Last year I was looking for a new motorcycle and your video actually contributed in buying a 2009 Stelvio NTX. Since then I’m in love with it - what an impressive machine! So thank you very much for that 🙂
    If I may ask: do you still own and ride your Stelvio?

      On the one hand I'm trying to answer your question, but on the other hand I'm also writing this for anyone else who might read this.
      The Stelvio is a very well-behaved and somewhat forgiving bike, but it's enormous. You're going to make a lot of mistakes for the first few years you ride on the road, so it's best to make those mistakes on a smaller and lighter and less expensive bike. You'll probably drop the bike a few times in your driveway, or in a parking lot, or a gas station, so this is where a light bike is advantageous and less likely to be dropped in the first place. A heavy bike is significantly harder to handle than a light bike when you're going slowly, so the propensity on a heavy bike is to go fast. Fast = dangerous, moreso when you lack experience. I dropped my Stelvio in my driveway once and my wife had to help me pick it up.
      Something to consider is the location of the nearest repair shop. It's a 2.5-hour drive to get my Stelvio to the nearest Guzzi shop. You can do a lot of maintenance on the Stelvio yourself (valve adjustment is a snap), but the things you can't do yourself will be quite expensive. My last tune-up with new tires and sorting out a minor electrical problem came to $2000, and over 5 hours of trailering the bike to and fro.
      There are footpeg lowering options that will fit nearly any bike, and some bikes let you adjust the seat up & down by an inch or two. The Buell Blast is an excellent beginner-friendly 500cc bike that has a high-seat option. Last year my wife got an '07 VStrom 650 (it's her third bike in 6 years, first with a Rebel 300 and then a Himalayan 400) and that one is an astonishingly nice ride, and you can get parts and service anywhere. It might be on the heavy side for a beginner bike, but it's much easier to manage than the Stelvio.
      I'd recommend starting with a small and cheap bike, but something in the 300cc - 500cc range so that you're not an obstacle on the highway. Then spend your money on high quality gear (gloves, helmet, padded jacket, thick jeans at the very least, good boots) and always wear it. Remember ATGATT: all the gear all the time. Dress for the slide, not for the ride (stupid rhyme, but it's true). If it's too hot outside and you want to skip wearing all the gear, then don't ride. That will ensure you survive to buy your second motorcycle.

    Are you sure there is no standard ABS on V4? What is the mileage? I see 838860. It is miles or km? That is kind of impressive. I guess the overall quiality can be compared to much more expensive GS 1200.

      The previous owner stated that the display had a malfunction and shows 8 for some reason. The motorcycle actually has 38k miles. I took his word for it because the motorcycle looks in great condition for 38k miles, let alone 838k miles!

    Just wondering how you would define " transverse " on an engine.
    Because, the engine is in fact a longitudinally placed engine....just so you know.
    Very nice bike b.t.w.

    • @Vitalewastaken
      @Vitalewastaken  ปีที่แล้ว

      In car terms you would be right. Just wanted to make the point that the engine is not mounted in the same direction like most motorcycles.

    • @63snampook
      @63snampook ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Vitalewastaken But it doesn't matter if you relate to car terms, motor bike terms, or any other. The placing of the crankshaft determines if an engine is a transversely placed engine, or a longitudinal one. So, in this case it's the latter.
