Its great besides some bumpy ride and weak brakes. But, i downgraded the pressure from 36 to 34-33 and ride has improved majorly! Great little stylish car!
I had the same issue with the rattling noise from the front passenger vents area, I feel like it's due to the air fresheners we used, so I tried to put some sticky tac where the vents moving part are and seems like it resolved most of the nosie.
I use this as my "travel" vehicle, 2020 CX-30 Preferred, 53K miles and have been absolutely blessed with performance 33-34 mpg and 95% highway miles from Upstate, NY to Boston and back every week since 9/2020. It is stable on the road, snow and rain equally controlled and honestly I will continue buying this vehicle again in the future. I have not heard any abnormal sounds after this many miles but again, they are predominantly hwy and very little stop and go city driving. The sound system rivals the HK in my Benz. I cannot say enough about the quality of this vehicle, probably the best car I have ever owned and that includes Honda, Landrover, Mercedes, BMW's. Advice: Buy one of these.
It might not be immediately clear to everyone, but what stands out about James is the way he puts his words together, the tone of his voice and the way he takes time to explain concepts and techs like G-Vectoring Control in an earlier CX-30 video that other TH-camrs barely do. Great job!
I just bought a CX-30 Carbon that my friend helped me look at. I gotta say, I love it. Literally just got it today, and I never thought I would enjoy driving a Mazda to be honest. Best part? I'm not a small guy, 6'1 and a large framed man. And I had plenty of room. I was a Honda guy before, but I gotta go with Mazda now.
I just got a cx30 and I love it so far. I like how it handles and being a single guy, it’s the perfect little CUV for me. Not sure I’d like it as much if I had kids but for hauling groceries, it does a great job. I also really like how the drivers seat kind of has a cockpit feel with the air vents facing you and everything. Some people don’t like the infotainment is not touch screen but I love it. I always hated in my other cars when the screen would get finger printy.
I tried the cx30 and the VW Golf 8. In the Golf EVERYTHING was Touch Sensors, even the light switches and the steering wheel controls. And I hated it. In a car I want to be able to feel the Buttons so I can Focus on the road. And every Input has to be deliberate and Not Like "oh, what did I accidently Touch and Change this time?"

I started selling Mazda in June. There are four Mazda’s in my driveway now. Cx-9, Cx-30 and two Mazda3. I love ‘em. I refer to my CX-30 as beauty in simplicity. It’s gorgeous and fun to drive.
@@mahinnoroozi3573 I LOVE my 30. But as I get older I wonder how hard it will be to get into and out of it. I feel like my CX30 drives better than the CX5, but the 5 is way more comfortable on longer rides. I ski, and enjoy getting to the mountains, but at the end of the day… I wish I had more room to stretch.
@@mrmlavoie SO SAD they are stopping the Mazda 6. I have a 2019 Mazda 3 premium hatch back with the manual transmission in soul red crystal. I also have a 2016 CX9. I wish they made a Mazda 6 station wagon available in the USA. Not everyone wants a garage full of SUV's. I have had 3 MX5 Miatas and I have been hankering for another one. Soft top grand touring manual trans of course. Your 2021 Mazda 6 carbon edition is a great vehicle. Vision Coupe would answer my prayers !!
It really is! What’s not to like. I’m hoping for a 2023 rear wheel drive in line 6 still. Otherwise maybe the Mx 30 or buy out my lease. My car is so tossable!
Perhaps the CX-30 will be the first MAZDA I´m getting to own. Got a date with a Dealership tomorrow...let´s see if we get a deal!? I´d like to trade in my Crosstrek for it... Because I´m really in love with the CX-30 on first sight! Bought one ❣️😎❣️
I just bought one last month and appreciate hearing your take on it after 10,000 miles. I had a Honda CRV and wanted something a little smaller. I love the car so far.
@mrsfranny20 I love it. The only thing I’m noticing that’s a bit of a problem is the visibility out the side windows. Between the angle of the side mirrors and the strut between the front and side window I have a blind spot there. But it's peppy and fun to drive. There's a lot less space inside.
Helpful video! I’m one month and 1,300 miles in on my CX-30 turbo and loving it so far. It’s interesting to hear about some of the creaks and rattles you’ve experienced. I’m very averse to rattles etc. in cars, which played a huge role in my decision to trade in my prior Subaru for the Mazda. The Crosstrek seemed to develop a new rattle each time I drove it, while the CX-30’s ride is very controlled and solid. Hoping it stays that way.
I’m on my 5 Mazda now, but only on my 1st new on that I leased in June of this year. It’s a CX-5 Grand Touring. My parents usually pass down their Mazda’s to me and get new ones that they also lease. Anyway, mine have all been 4-cylinders and I haven’t had any rattles or squeaks that I can recall. They stay tight for a long time and don’t tend to use oil. I have some small complaints with my new CX-5 and those are, I find the seats to be a little hard, beautiful and the leather is great, but not near as soft as Nissan or Volkswagens as of late. Mazda didn’t put a light in my glove box which is new to me but trivial because the overhead map lights are more than enough to illuminate that area at night. Also, it would be nice if both stalks on the steering wheel were backlit so that I can see where the wiper mode is set or which headlight settings are selected so I can easily glance and turn the knob toward me or away from me based on my desired setting. Hyundai does a good job with this. when the interior of a vehicle is dark at night it takes too long to find the correct setting unless I leave the headlights on AUTO which is not always where I need them to be set. The same thing applies with the windshield wipers. As James noted, the clear lens over the gauge cluster is soft plastic and scratched when you wipe the dust off. I’ve learned to use a clean, wet micro fiber cloth with light pressure. Also, I wish the brakes would bite and stop the car much more aggressively like the new Volkswagens that I have driven. I hand wash my CX-5 and don’t ever run it through the automatic car washes. I only have 5,000 miles on this crossover now. I drove the CX-30 turbo with AWD and it put a smile on my face and I would have loved to have it but I do travel sometimes and I feared the the cargo capacity might come up short. My CX-5, all of them, are still made in Japan and I can certainly feel it and I appreciate it: but I wouldn’t still buy Mazda’s even if they are all built in Mexico where I believe assembly meets excellent standards.
Mazda!! My 2019 CX-3 just hit 100k miles! I haven’t had to do anything other than regular maintenance that being fluids only! Brakes still 50% and it’s running like it was day 1 if not better now it’s broken in!!
I had the CX30 as a service vehicle and fell in love it. I was looking into the 2.5 turbo model and then I heard that 3 new models will be making their debut soon. The CX50, CX70 and the CX90. I'm gonna hold off til then
That makes sense. The CX-50 in particular seems really compelling to me - the CX-5 is already a great car, and if they premium-ify it up a bit to turn it into the CX-50, that would be a winner in my book.
@@JamesPlaysWithCars the CX50 appears to be aimed at a different audience than the CX5. It continues a lot of mazda design language but it doesn't appear on specs to be aimed at being a more premium 5. I'm wagering the CX70 will actually be more of a replacement for the CX5 and the CX90 will grow accordingly to be a more comfortable 3 row closer in size to large SUV's vs midsize. The CX70 will be larger, but probably a little smaller than the CX9 in length and make for a better small to midsize for the US in comparison to the CX5.
Owner of a non turbo '21 CX 30 for the last year and a half. I enjoy the CX 30 every time I drive it. Occasionally use the sequential gearbox when I feel racy, along with the sport mode. Mostly I'm in automatic and normal driving mode which equals a smooth, pleasant ride with more than adequate power. The interior/exterior of the CX 30 is beautiful and well made. Some down sides, if you feel they are, are small interior and blind spots. To each their own, I don't mind those issues at all. The CX 5 is larger, but again to me, larger isn't always better as the smaller CX 30 feels personal to me. No touch screen, again to me, is no big deal. The rotary dial for functions is just fine. Very safe car with lots of safety features available. Would I buy another CX 30? Absolutely! Mazda makes quality vehicles and my local dealer has been very good with any service needs to include accessories.
Great review James. Simple and clear! I've been do some research on the CX-30 2022 and this video gave me a true owner perspective. Keep up the insightful videos.
Gawd you are personable, very impressive. Great overview and from an owner who has actually owned one of these.... priceless. We currently own a Civic, looking at a Corolla Hatchback XSE.
The plastic on the gauge cluster is a known issue with cx30 and M3 owners, it scratches if you breathe on it, really soft and mazda cheaped out on this
At 10k on my 2020 Select Cx-30. The only thing I could add is that on the Select model the center counsel is a matte black it does not show scratches or wear in tear like the slightly shinier almost piano black that you have. This might be a great upgrade that you could purchase at the dealer and replace yourself. Your experience so far basically mirrored mine with the only exception that I don’t quite have as many squeaks and rattles noises in the cabin when the radios off. Mazda is really building exceptional vehicles right now, I feel it’s only a matter of time before their sales numbers start shooting up. Thank you for the content James!
My 2022 premium trimmed CX-30 has just gone over 10,000 miles. I’m glad to know that all the creeks that I’m getting are not just my car. I have black leather seats and the very dark blue color for the exterior (I forget the actual color). Barely any scratches at all. Other than the creeks on the inside when I’m going over somewhat rough roads, it’s doing fantastic. I usually am able to deafen the sounds of the creeks with my music anyways.
Why I love my Mazda CX5. It is reliable, offers many features and less expensive than other vehicles out there. I recently walked to a Mazda dealer looking for a vehicle for my daughter , Mazda CX30 S.
Thanks so much for your VALUABLE information!! You just talked me into buying a 2024 model ! I’ve been going back and forth between this car and a bigger SUV , but now my mind is made up ❤
Thank you James, there's no other long-term review quite like yours on the CX-30. I would really appreciate another update in how it fared for you since this video.
Awesome review James. We bought a new CX-30 Premium AWD in gunmetal gray back in June. It now has 3200 miles on the odometer and we're just as smitten with it today as on the test drive. Definitely a really nice CUV. I subscribed to your channel bud. Definitely love your approach.
Fun fact for all stick shift enthusiasts in the US: the manual Transmission in the cx30 is so amazing it convinced my lazy ass NOT to transition to automatic which I absolutely planner for my new car. It just feels so crisp and direct with short stick travel.
2020 preferred awd w/ 33K. Great car for the price. Dealer had to replace "temp control valve" (we used to call a thermostat). No other issues, no tell-tale noises. But the gauge cover, YEESH. We did have to replace two tires due to the "damn roads" in MI, and they ain't cheap!
How much did they cost? Im purchasing a 2021 red premium with 12,200 miles on it this weekend. Had a 2012 Ford Focus for 11 yrs with many issues so Im praying this is a reliable car that I can have until Im ready to get another one!!😊😊
Front tires wears out faster because the of the weight plus it drives the car at 60% and the rear at 40%. Thread wear can be evened out by regular tire rotation. Great post Sir, as I am on the market for a new car as a replacement for my 2012 Honda Fit with 128k on it.
I have the exact same car in red, and I have a little over 21k miles on it now. I love love it and its such a joy to drive. the 2 things that happened over the past 21k miles 1. the fuel gauge at one point was a bit faulty, and the software estimating how many miles are left was off with its estimation. Again that was a while ago and somehow it resolved on its own 2. True, it doesn't require premium fuel, but I really find that the engine drives smoother and is more responsive when using gas containing no ethanol. Also I found with this type of gas I get a better mileage. In general my mileage was anywhere between 26-28 miles per gal with ethanol containing gas, last 2 tank fills with ethanol free premium gas and driving mainly city roads I got a bit over 30 MPG. Again some might not see it worth getting that extra few MPG when weighing in the price difference between different kinds of gas, but this is what I found out.
You’ve just explained almost the exact wearing issues I have experienced after over two years and just under 10k miles use - the speed dials cheap plastic cover really is the most disappointing part for me and does require a redesign imo. Now to the good points, mine is a UK spec 2.0ltr skyactiv x which returns mid 40’s mpg on average - excellent. As a daily driver use it is sublimely smooth and fun to drive with excellent and assured balance on all road conditions. The rest of the interior and leather are beautifully designed. The exterior design is also minimalist and wonderfully sculptured beating most other vehicles in the good looking category. I love this car!
How did you get scratches on your gauge cluster? Im not doubting you guys when you say it could use better materials it just seems really weird to me that something that you're normally not touching gets scratched. Is it so soft that it will get scratches when you're wiping it down during cleaning for example? Im asking because im currently in the market for a new car and a cx30 seems like my current top choice for what I'm looking for.
@@rays5163 that’s exactly it. It occasionally requires the dust build up to be wiped off and no matter how soft your duster is, it’s the dust which causes the scratches on the cheap plastic! However, I just noticed the other day by accident what exacerbates this problem for the driver. It is the angle the plastic cover faces the driver. This needs to change. If I look at the dials from a different angle to my normal driving position, the scratches disappear! Good luck with choosing your CX-30, you will find it to be a pleasure to drive I’m sure.
4500 miles in on my CX-30 and I'm absolutely loving it! Only just keep wishing from time to time I spent a bit more for that Bose sound system in the premium lol!
I just got a 2023 CX30 a month ago. I like it, but I’m really bummed about the gas mileage and the sound system. Both are pretty bad. I had a VW Tiguan before this and it way out performed the CX 30 on gas and sound system. I wouldn’t purchase again but I’m grateful to have a safe, paid for car. I’ll enjoy it while I have it.
I had A CX 30 as a rental for two weeks while my car was in the Bodyshop. Overall, I enjoyed it with the exception of the non-touch screen infotainment and the super small gas tank. Nobody likes having to pull into the gas station all the time.
About the scratching on the instrument cluster plastic cover. There is a factory TSB service bulletin out regarding that. So you should check with your dealer about having that piece of plastic replaced. Letting them know there's a TSB on that. Also, for cleaning that in the future I would suggest getting an E-cloth to use for the cleaning They really do work great and you only need water in conjunction with it. The rattle that you mentioned coming from the passenger side dash area Is something that I have seen mentioned on CX-30 forums and other places. I don't believe that anyone including the dealership has been able to figure out exactly where that rattle is coming from. I just bought mine on April 1st 2024 so I'm glad to hear that yours is still holding up quite well. Thanks for posting this video I appreciate it
I bought a 2022 CX30 Turbo last Feb 2022 and today turned 20,132 miles. The only issue I've had is a dead battery which was repalced by Mazda. I keep my oil change every 3,000 miles and I have had no issues with the turbo.
Rattles and creaks after just 7 months and 10k, heck it’s just barely broken in! Also, your past due for a tire rotation, that would mitigate the difference in wear from front to rear.
Currently driving 15 mazda 3 and 7 years in. The car still fun to drive and it's a tank taking hits from unlicensed/uninsured drivers. Cx30 is on my radar but I hope they remove all the plastics cladding by the wheel well
James, I had the same door creak that you describe in the video. It took me a while to figure it out, but the door latch was the issue. There is no adjustment for the strike, but a little lube on the latch where it grabs the strike bar quieted the door.
Thank you James I just got mine a few days ago my lexus nx 300 lease was up and went to my dealer for a new one but no lexus 350 for 2 months and someone told me to check out the mazda cx30 went to a mazda dealer and test drove it and I was hooked and at a fraction of the price of the lexus i am impressed and loving it so far.
Awesome update on your sweet CX-30. I had 2 ‘17 Mazda 6 GT and I loved the Mazda brand even more after them. Im currently interested in a CX-30 because I can never see myself betray a brand I love lol. Also this would be my first SUV. My cousin is gonna set me up to test drive a ‘22 premium. Moved to Puerto Rico this yr and maybe owning a sweet CX-30 driving here sightseeing would be EPIC!!! 👍🏽
Thanks James! This was interesting and You have a great personality too. I’ll keep watching more of your videos. I’m subscribed. Glad you love your CX-30! It’s cool! I have the parchment leather in my CX-5 like you do and I agree that it’s held up well.
A side from the review of a turbo, this review can pretty much be labeled as “Mazda 3 Turbo Sedan 10,000 mile/7month Review.” Especially the development of rattles and creeks in the dash/doors. Great review.
I bought a used 2020 Mazda CX30 Premium AWD and I LOVE IT The only complaint I have is engine hesitation off a stop or red light.. going to clean map sensor.. Mazda recommends a 30,000 mile decarb for $880 , mine has 31,000 miles
Good video thanks. Waiting on my CX 30 to be built. Everyone should count to 30 just a straight 123...30 before putting there car into any gear and driving. Even modern cars need the time to slightly warm up and oil all the internals. This helps prevent early engine wear and noisy engines. I see so many jump in turn the key and take off hard and I cringe.
I don’t have a Cx-30 but I do have a 2018 Mazda6 signature. Red exterior with black interior. I couldn’t agree more with how simple and elegant the interiors are in the Mazda’s! Mine is close to 30k and so far only maintenance I’ve done was synthetic oil changes every 5k miles and replace the windshield wipers. My only complaint about the car is that the paint is sort of thin so rock chips are noticeable and that the brakes do squeak at the beginning but go away after driving the car. I would recommend ceramic coating the car to protect the paint. Love my Mazda and I wouldn’t trade it for anything besides the new upcoming Mazda6 in the future of 2023!
Your review was great! I'm getting a CX-30 but because of the chip shortage I'll have to wait until late December to get it in my color combination. You just heightened my anticipation!
Just ordered mine couple of days ago to Ukraine. Cars are built in Japan, will have to wait until March-April unfortunately, would be happy to hear about December from the dealer, hehe
Thank you for doing this video. I just purchased one last week.I had a 2019 Mazda CX-3 loved it but I buy a new about every two to three years so hopefully it holds up
Thanks for your review!! 🎉 it has helped with my final decision: I’m about to get a black 2023 CX-30 but I was unsure if I should be paying extra $1,000 for the ceramic coating 😅🙏🏻 well seems I do have to
I test drove one of these today was 2021 premium model certified with only 5000 miles the interior looked terrible scratches all over the place, the gauge cluster was scratched bad the outside looks great but the inside looked like it was 5 years old. The leather on the driver seat was creased bad too. My Toyota is a 2020 and has 14kmiles and looks 10x better.
Mazda has produced very many great cars. The Miata corners like glued to the road. Mazda 3s sold 30 years ago are still being driven daily. They always designed for sport, sleek designs, comfort and reliability. I'm still upset with my wife for not relaying a dealers message they accepted my offer on an amazing RX8. Car went to auction and I went fishing.
I just bought a 2021 Subaru crosstrek limited here in Wisconsin, got 823 miles on it now, the reason I bought the crosstrek over the cx30, is I get 34 mpg hwy with a 16.5 gallon gas tank, more ground clearance, same hp/torque with the 2.5L boxer, and resale value is better than the mazdas.
The difference in interiors is very noticable. I'm 6'2" (188cm) and the driver seat is much more comfortable on the CX-30 than the Crosstrek. My neighbor has a new Crosstrek and gets about the same mileage as me. We both may have a bit of a lead foot.
The resale value is a result of supply. Subaru is one of the most affected by the chip shortage. It’s producing merely fractions of that it used to. And that’s a huge red flag, as before they were a very small manufacturer by most standards. Subaru’s are similar to Jeep. High resale value but it does not equate to reliability or quality. As both are mediocre in terms of long term reliability.
Thanks James for an honest review of your CX-30. Its on the top of my list for possible replacement for my standard features only 2015 Camry LE. I "subscribed" for future updates on your CX-30 and other reviews because of your honest no nonsense style. I'm shopping CX30 vs. RAV4, Corolla Cross. Maybe consider Kia Seltos (2.0L eng only) to replace current car. I've only test drive a few turbo models in the past. The turbo lag even 1-2 seconds drives me nuts. I'd rather get a bigger 4cyl as Mazda does w/ fewer mpg than deal with the lag from a smaller turbo. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your review. I am looking to replace my very old and now money hungry 2012 Rogue. I am wanting a SUV that is good to get me to work everyday (100 trip daily) and haul my kayaks and camping gear on weekends.
Hey James. Thank you for your review I just bought a new CX30. Recently everytime I go over like a small bump on one side (front right passenger side) i hear this tapping sound like as if its coming from the window or the door banging on the frame. Do you experience that aswell? Thanks
Good to hear your thoughts on yours. I also have a 2021 CX30 that I bought at the end of July, though mine is the Preferred. I still love it. My only complaint is call sound quality at times (one time as the driver on the highway and the other times have been the call recipient when my boyfriend is out driving, particularly if the fan is running or if a window or the sunroof is open). Having had brand new Infinitis for my last three cars, I got spoiled with that I guess, but other than that I've been really pleased with this car.
I've owned a 2021 CX-30 Turbo AWD Premium for over a year and would really like for it to have a bigger fuel tank, 12.7 gallons (13.5 gallons for FWD non-turbo) will give you less than 250 miles between fill-ups. I love driving this car and got the Turbo AWD for that reason, so of course I could drive slower to get more miles out of the small tank, but if that were my concern I would've gotten the non-turbo FWD, which can easily give you more than 300 miles per tank with its bigger fuel tank. Other than that, I just enjoy driving this little CUV, I know what it is and more importantly, what it's not, so can't really complain about it being small in the rear or having little cargo area. My other concern would be lack of training or information on Mazda dealerships. I installed the OEM interior light kit (I used to be an ASE certified auto technician) and they looked at me like I had three heads when I asked them to add the light kit to vehicle's system, so I could manage it using infotainment control. They also had no idea what I was talking about when I asked to change the setting that cuts A/C compressor at more than 50% throttle to more than 65% throttle, which I know is an available option. But definitely happy with the driving experience, Mazda hit the nail on the head tuning the turbo engine for torque at lower RPM's.
James I have Y 2021 xx-30 preferred and I have 154127 Miles at the Moment so far so good… brakes, tires, that’s about it… seal on driver door slightly deteriorating and I noticed a slightly different sound when I close the door nothing big…
Great review! 😀😀👌👌👌👌👋👋👋👋👋We have a good reason to get an SUV here in Miami, Florida: Rain and flooding! Hahahaha That's why here there is a decrease in sales of coupes! Besides the small SUV are more practical! If they add the panoramic Moonroof they will make the CX 30, the perfect and fun small SUV car! Car Driver puts it at number one in its category!
Such a good video! Thanks for the content! I wish the MPG was a little bit better, besides that I really like this car. I’m still think about what car to buy, I will get one probably in the next 3 to 4 months. So I have been watching a tone of reviews LOL

I love my CX 30 Select AWD. Though sometimes i think i shouldve gotten the Turbo lol. Still happy with my selection
The electric cargo door is so slow 😫, but it’s a minor thing I think… until it starts to rain 😄.
Assuming you mean the optional Bose sound system, can you have it with a spare wheel? Does the subwoofer fill the spare wheel hole?
@@khelgarironfist3301 it actually fits/bolts right over the spare .
Do you notice any vibrations when cylinder deactivation kicks in?

CR-V is a MUCH smoother ride, so if you like that then don't get the CX-30. It's anything but a smooth ride.
Iam using this car , iam a beginner, Mazda gave me everything with a pretty good price , very easy to drive with the amenities
Hi James, thank you for that video. I 'm from Paris France and I am thinking about moving from a Mini Cooper to a CX-30
Do you know if it's going to be bigger than cx5? I loved the vehicle but the cramped up back seats were a deal breaker
@@JamesPlaysWithCars But these models are way more expensive,so really can't compare..
Mazdas use a torque converter automatic and not a sequential gearbox, but I do pretend I'm like an F1 driver flicking the paddles
Do you notice any vibrations when cylinder deactivation kicks in?
Great review James. Simple and clear! I've been do some research on the CX-30 2022 and this video gave me a true owner perspective. Keep up the insightful videos.
I just upgraded from my Mazda 3 to a CX-30 and I'm totally looking forward to drive the new car!
I’ve never thought of a car as a evolving thing, but you’re so right. Great review, subbed
Gawd you are personable, very impressive. Great overview and from an owner who has actually owned one of these.... priceless. We currently own a Civic, looking at a Corolla Hatchback XSE.
I'm glad I went with 2022 cx9. It's made in japan and I have zero issue with it
The plastic on the gauge cluster is a known issue with cx30 and M3 owners, it scratches if you breathe on it, really soft and mazda cheaped out on this
At 10k on my 2020 Select Cx-30.
Thanks for the tip, Azspeedin! If the scratches eventually get really bad I may indeed make the switch
If Mazda will build out their dealer network that will drastically help them increase sales in the decades to come.
Getting a 23 plate in march already been paid for
My 2022 premium trimmed CX-30 has just gone over 10,000 miles.
I’m buying cx30, it’s my first car. Thank you for this review!!
Thanks for the kind words, Charles. I'll be making one soon as we approach 25k!
I'm from Taiwan and I also own the CX-30 about half a year. It's really a nice car and I love it. Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for your kind words, David. Keep enjoying your new Mazda!!
I have the CX30 Select too! Navy blue .....I LOVE IT. And im at the 9,200 mile mark
Do you notice any vibrations when cylinder deactivation kicks in?
@@vladyslavbasov5447 This 2.5 non turbo doesn't have it. Or I wouldn't have bought it!
I love love it and its such a joy to drive. the 2 things that happened over the past 21k miles
1. the fuel gauge at one point was a bit faulty, and the software estimating how many miles are left was off with its estimation. Again that was a while ago and somehow it resolved on its own
Good job on the video ,James; we appreciate it! :-)🎉
Ya, I love your channel. Keep doing this. Extremely palatable.
@@harryrammer thanks, i'll try to keep that in mind
Battery discharge alarm is a problem. How do you fix it?
4500 miles in on my CX-30 and I'm absolutely loving it! Only just keep wishing from time to time I spent a bit more for that Bose sound system in the premium lol!
Awesome! Here's to MANY more happy miles
Throughly enjoyed this review, tested with a different mindset, enjoyed it, subscribed, says it all😊
I just got a 2023 CX30 a month ago.
All the time?
@@richardmichael59 I certainly don't like pulling into the gas station every four days. The CX 50 or Rav $ Hybrid are better values.
The Cx-30 has a 13.5 gal gas tank vs the 16.5gal with the Mazda6
I rented a 2021 one of these and would get 280 to 300 Miles out of a tank. Wasn’t bad at all
So in an AWD vehicle, if one of the tires goes bad, do you have to replace all the tires?
Changing oil before 5K miles is money wasted
Looking at this car for my daughter who will be going from a VW GTI turbo...thanks for sharing your experiences/info!
My 21 CX-30 averages 30mpg or better with mixed driving. I now have 10K miles and absolutely love it!
Nice! Is it FWD or AWD?
@@JamesPlaysWithCars AWD
Rattles and creaks after just 7 months and 10k, heck it’s just barely broken in! Also, your past due for a tire rotation, that would mitigate the difference in wear from front to rear.
Curious to see how it's holding up-- PLEASE do another when 2023 is around...
Just posted today!!
Isn’t it a year old only ! How could there already be more engine noise ?!
It looks great!
I bought a used 2020 Mazda CX30 Premium AWD and I LOVE IT
The only complaint I have is engine hesitation off a stop or red light.. going to clean map sensor..
Sept 13th for mine!
Hopefully
I love my Mazda CX30 Turbo. Absolutely great car. Does not like speedbumps thou, but that's OK...I'd rather have better handling.
is the transmission good? Do you not miss adaptive cruise control with assisted steering? (like toyota or other brands have lowkey autopilot)
Top, go on
I don’t have a Cx-30 but I do have a 2018 Mazda6 signature.
Upcoming RWD Mazda6 for the win! I am super excited for that car too.
Those creaks and squeaks are due to poor assembly. Aren't these all assembled in Mexico?
Your review was great! I'm getting a CX-30 but because of the chip shortage I'll have to wait until late December to get it in my color combination. You just heightened my anticipation!
Enjoy your CX-30 when it comes, Kelsey! I'm excited for you

If you like that adrenalin rush acceleration effect, the turbo CX30 will blow your mind.
Great honest review.
This *is* a high compression engine, it's just been designed to run on 87 octane.
Love this review and I loved driving this!
Thanks for this review. I have been thinking of trying out a Mazda vehicle.
Is there a way to set car distant in front of the car, then it will warn you if you drive too close in front of the car?
dude liked your video im actually checking out this cx 30 this past few weeks and you answered the questions in my mind 👏👏👏
Appreciate your honest reviews!
I appreciate you watching and supporting the channel!
Thank you for your feedback and info
Resale ought to be great on both now with car shortage
Just got my new car which is the exact same except in blue. I love it so much. It’s such a good value
Thanks for unbiased review.
Thank you for your review. I am looking to replace my very old and now money hungry 2012 Rogue. I am wanting a SUV that is good to get me to work everyday (100 trip daily) and haul my kayaks and camping gear on weekends.
