Tom is 83 years old now and still sounds great! He is one of the judges on The Voice UK. Tom was knighted by Queen Elizabeth so he is Sir Tom 😂 y’all crack me up! ❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
At 83 he is still a great (and I say that even though I am not a fan of Tom Jones or the musical style he represents). On April 15th, Tom Jones will be singing at the Movistar Arena, here in Argentina (so, besides, he continues to tour the world at his age).
Tom was high class - he made you think of caviar and champagne. He was a gentleman, which made women wild. Remember, this is 20 years before HIV and just after they invented the pill.
Tom kissing the ladies "is not unusual 🎵🎵🎵", and it wasn't only Tom Jones who did it. It was a thing with him, Elvis, and other male entertainers, who were considered sex symbols back then.
He wAs a lousy husband! Even though she was dying of cancer, he still wasn't there for her! She must've had a religion that didn't believe in divorce to stay married to him because he was never faithful to her. I enjoyed him as an entertainer but he was a sorry excuse for a husband.
For cultural context: this was an era of women's sexual liberation. Tom had the same allure that Elvis had: great voice, great looks, great moves and stage presence. He wasn't a misogynist or a pimp; he went out there and strutted his stuff in good fun; his female fans not only encouraged it, but fueled his energy. He's a great performer bc you too were riveted by the uninhibited sexual energy! In real life Tom is a former Welch laborer who married very young, gained success due to his vocal abilities, and created an unmatched stage persona. He was married for 60 years until his wife's death, and still occasionally sings ( in his 80's) as a judge on "The Voice". The difference between this and rap/hip-hop, is that it was teasing women, empowering THEM to take control. It was very suggestive, but NOT aggressive, crude or objectifying towards women. Quite the opposite. Given those times of bra-burning, women's lib, and the equal rights for women movement, it gave women permission to turn the tables a little, and enjoy ogling a guy. Tom was quite happy to oblige!
@granitestater1029 things really turned in the 1960's! Remember on TV, they rarely even showed anyone in pajamas...and married couples were depicted sleeping in twin beds!? Barbara Eden was dressed "racy" for I Dream of Jeannie and censorship wouldn't permit her to expose her navel. In the late 60's/early 70's, Cher pushed the TV censorship limits in sexy Bob Mackie costumes that showed her navel, and plenty of leg and cleavage too. It seems so tame now; but that's the era when miniskirts & go-go boots & bikinis first showed up, and women started breaking out of that stereotype of being a postwar-era housewife, ironing her husband's dress shirts in a dress with heels & a pearl necklace. Tom Jones came along right at that time and he made it fun and entertaining for the ladies to drop their inhibitions. I remember they would throw panties and lingerie onto the stage when he performed!! 😂 It would be SO politically incorrect to do that stuff today; he was really being objectified, when you think about it!!....but at the time, it was all just in good fun & Tom is still a good sport, still a sex symbol at 80! I'm sure young people in their 20's and 30's would have a very hard time relating to our generation's societal norms and the whole concept of women's liberation, because nowadays the sexes are on much more equal footing.
I'm 63 now, but I remember as a child my mom had tickets for a Tom Jones concert. My dad took us all out of town for a fancy dinner instead. He never spent that kind of money. I didn't understand it at the time, but now it's hysterical. My mom is 83 now.
Back then many husbands and boyfriends would pay for a Tom Jones ticket because they knew that afterwards when their girl returned home the men had high chance of getting that once in a lifetime extra special special experience.
Actually, Tom was not an f* boy, he was a ladies man. He may have been handing out the kisses the women in his audience were craving, but he wasn’t calling them or treating them like ho’s or bitches. He had a strong, masculine but respectful charm and charisma. And kissing back then was not the huge deal it is now. Doing “it all” was the huge deal. Listen to some more of his songs and you will see that. You referred to the song “She’s A Lady”. Do you see the difference? Plus, I’m sure that there were a lot of boyfriends and husbands back then who reaped the “benefits” when their lady came home to them from a Tom Jones concert. 😉 😂
I'm roaring watching your reactions to Tom. Tom had it going on. Women went crazy over him. I grew up in the '60's, '70's. Watching you two's reaction to the music I grew up with is so damn funny to me Love you guys. Keep up the fantastic work.
My mom loved Tom Jones. I believe she went to his show and I think I heard (from my siblings) that she did indeed throw panties on stage. Plus you didn't pick a great song to start with. It doesn't really show off his voice. This man could SING. He had a powerful, powerful voice.
Tom Jones was and still is an amazing artist! Another Welsh performer who had the "it" factor back then and still has it today! Women would throw their underwear at him! But his voice is still magical today and he still performs with confidence, passion and swagger! His performances as a judge on the Voice UK are superb! There was only one special lady in his life, his wife of 60 years and he cared for her till she passed ❤
Uhm, she was NOT the only special lady in his life. I mean he stayed married to her and took care of her. But… he ‘knew’ many many other ladies. Just an historical fact. I met him once in the 90’s. I was briefly alone in a room with him. I do not consider myself anything special, especially then, and yet I still got ‘that’ intense eye-contact once-over look from him. He met several young women from our entertainment company that day and I have no doubt that they all experienced the same or more, depending on their receptiveness. There were many stories going round the company about his adventures with willing ladies in a range of ages. Even possibly allegedly wives of important execs. The gossip was very entertaining.
@sarahdiamond2983 the emphasis is on the word "special" lady and if he was guilty of what you say during their marriage, it speaks to their amazing love 🙏🥰
Well Tom is also singing about TREATING HER RIGHT !!!! WHERE MOST MEN DO NOT !!!! AND RAP NEVER SAYS TREAT HER RIGHT!!!! JUST TAKE HER LEAVE HER AND MOVE TO NEXT!!!

Many songs and lyrics throughout history had positive meanings and good messages, even though most of those who wrote or performed them did not live that way. I saw Tom Jones in Vegas in the 90's and again in Sonoma in the 90's. That man is GROOVY! As a kid my mom watched his show every Sunday right after the Disney show. God I'm old!

Been in love with Tom Jones since I was a little girl! This was his schtick, and women loved getting kisses from him!! It was a thing back then. If you think this is out there you should watch Elvis sing "Love Me Tender" 1970 Las Vegas. Women had their singing idols back then, and those singers were good to their fans. Both of these men performed in Las Vegas a month at a time, a couple of times a year, and they brought in mega crowds and mega money to Vegas. I got to see Tom in concert once, POWER voice, he shook the rafters in that arena!! I'm 67 now, I'm always SO surprised at the younger generation's reactions to Tom and Elvis kissing their fans. Til I started watching these reactions, I didn't realize that a Kiss had become so taboo.
My wife's school friend's mother was a huge fan of Tom Jones. She went to a lot of his concerts and always took a pair of frilly knickers to throw onto the stage. True.
So much agree with you! NO COMPARISON, rap ,usually had very vulgar language and the videos with half naked girls and tweaking all over the place. Singers grabbing their crotch. No discretion , no nothing. Don't compare !
BP, ROFL!! Watching your expressions throughout this video is the highlight of my day-and I was with my granddaughter so that's huge!! Elvis did the same thing. BTW. Wiping their brow and giving it back to the ladies was a huge deal. Kinda like Eddie throwing his guitar picks. The more things change the more they stay the same.
I have seen Ton Jones several times in concert. He always puts on a wonderful show. One of the reasons he is so popular with the ladies is because he interacts with the audience, something that doesn't happen often now a days. He just has that sex appeal and knows how to use it.....❤❤❤❤❤
I think a lot of women fell in love with Tom Jones when he sang "I'll never fall in love again". Between his looks, his beautiful voice, and the sentiment of the song, he won them over. His swagger seemed to come after that.
That handkerchief with Tom's sweat on it is probably still in her collection. All the kisses are gone. P.S. Remember, at that time, USA would not show Elvis below his waist. Also BBC shows were not used to music production and the audiences were told to keep seated and try not to move. You can tell that on most videos where they are often tight on the drummer or singer while the guitarist is screaming his lead break. Love what you do. Thanks!
He is singing a song called Treat Her Right, as in look after your woman be gentle, love her for who she is and take as long as it takes to win her affection back. There is nothing misogynistic in this action. His personal actions in the past, however, deeply hurt his wife. To which he apologised to her a bit late, but she forgave him for his philandering. And she told him she would cut his balls off if he did again. That's those beautiful beguiling Welsh ladies for you. She was his only wife till death.
My grandmother went to sleep with Tom Jones every night! (Wink, wink!) She put a stack of Tom Jones albums on her stereo beside her bed. She was in her 60's when my aunt and cousin bought her a ticket to a Tom Jones concert. They said when they went to pick her up she came out with her new Easter outfit that included a little pillbox hat! During the show, all the women around them were throwing their underwear on stage. My cousin said that our Pentecostal granny was grinning all over herself!!! Thank you for this sweet memory!! Love you guys!!
When I was in elementary school maybe 5 th grade my Daddy’s friend got us tickets to see him. I’m sure my brother was with us too. Mama had told us before going that some women may be screaming at the stage and we would see underwear. This was 1978 or 79. I’m 55 now. It was a great concert. My parent knew how talented he was and wanted us to see him. They took us to see all kinds of music in the day and throughout high school. At 80 and 86 they are still awesome! 😂
I remember my mom always saying when she saw some guy trying to be cool and look good, but he really didn’t. He’s trying to be Tom Jones, with her cute Italian accent I think they all want to be Tom Jones.
At 66, I’m one of those grandmas you young whippersnappers mentioned. I would’ve LOVED a kiss from Sir Tom. But I was an Elvis girl … still am. I saw Elvis in concert in 1976, second row, center stage. One of the best experiences in my life. If this song blew your mind, you MUST react to Elvis, Love Me Tender, Live in Las Vegas, 1970. You will be shocked! Great reaction, as always! Much love ❤️ th-cam.com/video/BeTurYZuY4A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=E_qF4SWcAsIw2lWd
He has heaps of hits world wide. Elvis was jealous of his voice. He was just part of life if you had a radio in your home. In 1990 I went to a very popular gay club in Camden, London with my best friend. The Black Cap. The DJ played Tom's renowned hit Delilah. The whole club danced and sang at the top of their voices. It was an amazing reaction to one song. Everyone was belting out the song together. Loved it.
My mom had vinyl of his, covers always had him with his shirt open almost to his waist, but it was a different time, people weren't as easily offended 😂
He's got some great songs, Delilah and I'll never fall in love again are two of my favorites. When my mom went to see him, she said ladies throw bras and panties on stage. My mom said, "Hell no, I'll throw my hotel key."😂
I'm 75 and I remember watching Tom Jones . You must play his song Mama everyone will cry!. Great song must hear that song. Also girls would throw their panties at him! I lived through the best music there was☺🎺
He was married most of his adult life to his late wife, who was a real home lover. They had an arrangement that whatever goes on while on tour, stays on tour........over 1,000 women later....
Lol, there were a lot of singers and actors who kissed the ladies back in the day. More than just Tom Jones, Elvis, etc .... he was a great singer and actor. You should have seen Richard Dawson kiss all the ladies. You won't see this today...Tom Jones was awesome back his day. I loved when he played with Jerry Lewis on the movies
My mother loved Tom Jones, we watched his TV show all the time when my father was in Vietnam during the war. I've seen him live twice, he was still dancing up a storm and getting panties the first time, the 2nd time was 2 years ago before he had a hip replacement. He still sounds wonderful.
He was notorious for his sex life but he had married his girlfriend when they were 16, and whoever else he slept with he went back to her until her death in 2016. A 60 year marriage. His last album was released in 2021 and was a UK number 1. He is a living legend.
god the mania around Tom back then...when he undid his tie, you knew it was coming. Well, he really wasn't a ladies man...he was pretty devoted to his wife, but dang he played one and the stories about the bras and panties was true. he new how to put on a show...but besides all that, he was a stellar vocalist so it wasn't just a show.
The biggest factor in Tom Jones being 'social proof' as you put it, BP,..is that first and foremost , he was talented, but never took himself seriously. he has humour. The prancing, the kisses, the flirting, was all done with humour, and it was understood that the Ladies were the ones who were really in control. He was their singing, dancing, performing man. He was happy to play that role. He was the one being objectified and the audience and Tom knew it, and had fun with it. The difference between the Red Pill lot, and Tom is that the Red Pillers reek of desperation, and taking themselves seriously. Everything Tom Jones. or Elvis, or even someone contemporary like Ren do, is done with a cheeky grin, cleverness, and self deprecation. Its the antithesis of what Red Pillers do.
@@Isleofskye I think thats a good summary :) I think you can be cheeky, even a bit naughty, but it takes emotional intelligence, humour and knowing where the line is drawn. Some men just naturally have that kind of emotional intelligence, and very often, they have a kind of cameraderie with women. They see them as people, and they make them laugh. They're always a bit self deprecating. They make women comfortable. Comfort is important. :)
@@melissatheminx4710 You're absolutely right about "comfort" Melissa. I used to say , making Women feel "safe" and at ease. I came from a working-class background which made me streetwise and mischievous but self-deprecation was important to me and I, honestly, laugh just as much at jokes at my expense from myself and others as I do when I am being cheeky. Once a Lady feels safe with you and knows you are discreet and keep your business to yourself then it used to amaze me how different they soon were to the person that I,originally, met:)
If you are shocked at Tom Jones kissing the ladies, you will be blown away with Elvis Presley singing the live performance of "Love Me Tender" Las Vegas 1970. He easily outdoes TJ.
I’m 61 now - me and my mother used to watch the Tom Jones Show each week and my three brothers and father wouldn’t even enter the basement TV room during that hour because we’d be out of control, hollering and giggling and just dazzled by him. It was exciting and he made us feel like women. Hard to explain but it was like a right of passage for me. What a voice and he was funny too!
Yes!!! Tom kissed my sister at a show in Vegas in the 1970s. She said his mouth was really cold.... And women threw their hotel room keys as well as panties on the stage. Please watch (also from his TV show) his performance of I Who Have Nothing as well as a really fun segment with Tom and Stevie Wonder singing a medley of both their hits.

Til I started watching these reactions, I didn't realize that a Kiss had become so taboo.
My wife's school friend's mother was a huge fan of Tom Jones. She went to a lot of his concerts and always took a pair of frilly knickers to throw onto the stage. True.
Yep 😊
Tom Jones was charismatic, not VULGAR. Please don't try to associate him to rappers. Worlds apart!
So much agree with you! NO COMPARISON, rap ,usually had very vulgar language and the videos with half naked girls and tweaking all over the place. Singers grabbing their crotch. No discretion , no nothing. Don't compare !
Thank you !!!
Tom married his high school sweetheart in 1956 and they were married until she died 2016.
But he cheated on her the whole 60 years they were married! 😢
He cheated on her. She probably stayed for the money.
From Wales, like Ren. Great singers and pipe layers!! One love from Scotland. 💙
Wales has a lot of singers
Prince also had that affect on women ! LOL Yes he did
Saw him live in Boston about a year and a half ago. Man is in his 80's and his voice is STILL on point.
The difference is that we didn’t have almost naked women dancing on stage and filthy language being spouted.
I have to agree with you there. Kissing some women in the audience pales in comparison to the lyrics in rap music.
Live shows did, just not on tv.
I second that!
Class back in the day. We have failed as a society 😅
Well said all of you.
I have seen Ton Jones several times in concert. He always puts on a wonderful show. One of the reasons he is so popular with the ladies is because he interacts with the audience, something that doesn't happen often now a days. He just has that sex appeal and knows how to use it.....❤❤❤❤❤
One of, if not the best performers of all time, and a voice to match!👍😎✌🗽
I found Tom Jones because my grandmother watched his variety show. Man has never stopped being a beast.
So hilarious! I’ve never heard it called a telescope before 🤣🤣 The face on BP 😮
My dad’s favourite song by Tom Jones Green Green Grass of Home.
Thanks!
Best reaction yet! Watched his show every week with my Mama and sister. Every time I see Tom Jones and ear to ear smile.
Yeah... when you listen to the lyrics, you realize that, his persona aside, the song is fine.
Tom Jones with Janis Joplin is Gold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Listen to "I'll Never Fall In Love" to hear his amazing voice.
Yes!!!
He still sounds amazing ❤
I'm so so laughing out loud....you both have made my night X
The funny yet sweet thing about him being a ladies man ,was that he was happily married to his wife Melinda from 1957- until her death in 2016.
Much love ❤️

Thing is... Tom Jones is doing it the right way. With Joy. No bad attitude... just pure Joy... that's the difference...
True! He loves to sing and he loves women!❤
83 years of age and the legend is still rocking!
The P-magnet himself 😂 difference from rap is no cursing or "street" words. And I'm down with 80-90s rap hard
Oh man dig deep and do more Tom!! It’s worth it!! ❤. “ I’ll never fall in love again”. Is a must
Now ya need to hear "fall in love" man!!
Luv the reactions guys. Admirations to Rapper, who listens and appreciate the Golden oldies😅 👏🏽.
Cheerio from Down Under 🌺
Who would have thought it was going to be Tom Jones that changed you into a new man. He does have an effect on people.😮
OMG! I'm a bit of a Tom Jones fan, and I never saw this. He's still rocking ... check out videos of his appearances on The Voice.
He's got some great songs, Delilah and I'll never fall in love again are two of my favorites. When my mom went to see him, she said ladies throw bras and panties on stage. My mom said, "Hell no, I'll throw my hotel key."😂
Saw Tom Jones at Mountaineer in 2003. He sounded great, could still dance, and ladies were throwing their unmentionables. That kinda cool never fades.
The European Elvis. Word got out about those Las Vegas shows. But for a long time, what happened in Vegas - stayed in Vegas. Haha. 😊
Exactly
One of my Tom Jones favourites is I'm Coming Home from 1968 (Live) definitely worth a watch. It shows his fabulaus range and is a fantastic song.
What kind of aftershave did Tom wear? He wore "Tom f@*King Jones"! One love from Scotland. 💙
I'm 75 and I remember watching Tom Jones . You must play his song Mama everyone will cry!. Great song must hear that song. Also girls would throw their panties at him! I lived through the best music there was☺🎺
OMG this is hysterical Your face BP. So do you see British TV as being different to US? I think he was married for decades.
He was married most of his adult life to his late wife, who was a real home lover. They had an arrangement that whatever goes on while on tour, stays on tour........over 1,000 women later....
Tom Jones voice is still amazing now 😂 You should check out some clips from the voice where he gets up and sings with some of the contestants.
You should check out his song "Sexbomb" 🙂
My Aunt now in her 80s a big fan I remember as a child in the 60s her saying about throwing her knickers at T9m . She is a huge fan
He was notorious for his sex life but he had married his girlfriend when they were 16, and whoever else he slept with he went back to her until her death in 2016. A 60 year marriage. His last album was released in 2021 and was a UK number 1. He is a living legend.
He was devastated when she died.
Hahaha This is cool.. I remember watching his TV shows back in the day. I'm getting ready to turn 63 🤣
Watch Elvis live in Vegas “Can’t help falling in love with you” kisses all the ladies
My Grandmother loved her some Tom Jones back in the day. I loved watching Carlton dance to his music on Fresh Prince. Priceless.
An 83 year old Welsh man from a small town who still sells out on tour
He still sounds great now and he is 83 I think , an absolute legend who has sung with them all time greats from Franklin to Presley.
god the mania around Tom back then...when he undid his tie, you knew it was coming. Well, he really wasn't a ladies man...he was pretty devoted to his wife, but dang he played one and the stories about the bras and panties was true. he new how to put on a show...but besides all that, he was a stellar vocalist so it wasn't just a show.
Over 1,000 Women will have told you that what occurs on Tour stays on Tour. When Tom was at home with his home-loving wife,he WAS devoted.
You have to check out Tom singing "I'll never fall in love again" to see just how talented of s singer he is. Its amazing.
I think if I had to sum up what most Women like, though they are all individuals, is a cheeky grin and "naughty but nice".
Am I right?
My mom loved him. My dad brought her to Vegas to see him live in the early 70's. He is really good.
The O.G. G.O.A.T.
I saw his show in Montreal, Québec, Canada, he was a ball of energy and his voice...WOW! Power!
Haha, this is lighthearted innuendo compared to rap lol.❤😊
