Hi Matt, I know you know all about the AEV products. The AEV rear bumper with tire carrier made with boron steel. It’s lighter and stronger than regular steel. So with a heavier tire you want to save weight wherever you can and boron steel is 40% lighter than regular steel. It’s the second hardest substance to diamond. Love the build and cool color. Thank you for sharing.
40” tires look bad-ass, I will agree, but is there an after-market crane you can install in the back of the Jeep that will lift those heavy-as-lead wheels and tires onto the tire carrier? Looks is one thing, but you need to be able to lift those darn things off and onto the spare tire carrier, and after watching you guys struggle to put that one on the back, I think that if you need 3 guys to get a tire onto the spare carrier, 40” is just a bit much for the average guy
Ryan gets your Bumper. I like my steel factory bumper for the License plate location and the Sensors. haven't seen an aftermarket bumper that keeps the license plate location. they all weld an attachment there for a D-ring.
Thanks for sharing‼️ Glad to hear your Jeep has a name now, and hope your all doing good. I know there's alot of us out here, that can't thank you guys enough, for sharing all of the information that we get to see from trial and error from your channel...
Good info. Thanks for sharing. I have the TeraFlex HD tire carrier, but not the tailgate hinge part. I've had a 37 inch hanging on the stock hinges for over three years now. It doesn't rattle, it doesn't drop and closes like it should. Not saying it would hold more than that, though the stock tailgate doesn't get enough credit for being able to hold up. Only because it's made of Magnesium, it doesn't bend. I wish there was more trust in it rather then just replacing it. And save people a few bucks.
this foam sticker pieces to go under the bracket are a great idea. Not only do they cover the unpainted areas there, but more importantly, they create a layer between dissimilar metals so you don't get galvanic corrosion starting. Now if only Jeep did this with the door hinges, they wouldn't have all the corrosion warranty claims. Actually might use my vinyl cutter and cut some pieces of a thin material like that to go under all my hinges. Or maybe someone makes an aftermarket set or protectors?
We just put one of those Alpha HD carriers on our JL, and man... It's a great product, it absolutely is, but the install was such a headache. Between the bracket hinges, the tailgate sliding nutplates, the carrier itself, and the weight of everything, it took me 3 different work sessions to get everything aligned to where the tire is touching the bracket and the tailgate closes on the striker properly. 100% not Teraflex's fault though. It's still a 10/10 product, but buyers should know what they're getting into with this one.
Nice informative video. The 40’s look massively awesome! Would like to see it do some rock crawling. Might want to mention to be careful with the connector for the camera. Unlike the wiring for the 3rd brake light that you can cut, splice, extend for whatever reason you might have, the camera cable is fiber optic. For those who don’t know, you don’t want to bend it too sharply, or cut it mistaking it for a wire.
Your backup sensors might become an issue in the future. I have a 21 JLU Rubicon. I installed Westins WJ2 rear bumper that retains the backup sensors. The placement of the backup sensors is different. I had to extend my wire harness by several inches for one sensor. Then I came to realize that the sensors sit higher in the bumper. This wasn't an issue until I mounted my 33" spare tire. Park sense kept warning me that a sensor was dirty and then would shut off park assist. Came to realize that the 2 middle sensors were seeing my spare tire. To fix the issue I installed Teraflex's tire carrier and raised my 33" tire as high as the carrier would go. Worked like a charm. Well next week I'm going with a 3.5" lift, KMC Tank wheels, 37" Baja Boss MT tires and regearing to 4.88 for my manual trans. Already have the Tazer JL installed. I'm wondering if the Park Sense sensors will see my 37" spare. I noticed that the Tazer JL Mini lets me recalibrate the sensors so I might have play with that. All that aside, I installed Teraflex's tailgate hinge 2 weekends ago and it's definitely a huge upgrade. It's STOUT! Big Jeep is looking good.
Looks awesome Matt! You're gonna need a J-Barr top lift set up with a power winch and secure it to the ceiling so you can lift that top off with ease, so you don't have to strain to manually lift your top over that monster 40 spare! Another awesome video guys!
Big fan of the show been watching for a long time! Would love to get your Extreme Recon Hinge Reinforcement bracket. I have a 18 sport with 35s and in need of it! Wont ever go any bigger with tires cause jeep is pulled behind a motorhome. Please let me know what I could do to get this from you! Thanks for the many informational videos.
Just a heads up you're 99% going to experience a power steering overheat warning at some point running 40s. They make a cooling kit for the electric pump itself
Maybe he should stop naming Jeeps when he hits Middle School. 🤣 The 40s do look good. Knowing what you know now, would you put some kind of coating on the unpainted parts, or are the covers enough?
With that big and heavy spare I would go to frame mounted, swing-away tire carrier. Like the one AEV or Warn makes.

Matt that is crazy how you can tear it apart and add your own mods! Nice video Ryan interesting to watch!

The Dana 50 was a independent and solid axles on early Ford f250s and excursions.
Jeep looks awesome! Super jealous🤘🏽 For a 40in tire you definitely need to go with a body mounted tire carrier such as GenRight or Evo 🔥

I could use the extended camera mount. With my-38 offset I see half my wheel when my camera is on. Jeep is looking great
I have the same carrier on my JLR, had one on my JKR, best design and it looks great.
That wheel looks huge on the back

I’ve got JBarr too!! Love it!!!!
Next visit video. How to install a roof lift.
@@Eric-qq7zw 😆
37" MT baja boss fits the XR spare holder
Eagerly awaiting the black hardtop (if you’re still doing it), I think it would look awesome.
Dude I had a nightmare the other night. Took apart my Gladiator and couldn’t put it back together. Your videos are sick 😂
That is one sick jeep, love it 😎
Thanks for sharing my Jeep!!
Awesome build so far! It had me thinking if you were gonna put the rear cargo enclosure you designed. Are those still available?
Can you reduce outside noise somehow on the rear tailgate vents?
Love this channel
Thanks for watching and supporting!
i put ppf under my hinges when i took them off
I need a beefy tire carrier because I just went up to 35 and I have a deep offset wheel. My rear camera shows the inside of my wheel 😮
Great job boys.
What’s the wheel and tire total weight? And when are the tons going on?
Would you happen to know how much weight the terraflex tire carrier can handle? Or how much does you tire/wheel combo weigh?

Cool Jeep Nate
Dannnng BIG JEEP 😮
woow , looks amazing, waiting for next upgrade. What's next?
I just took the top off of my 2024 Rubicon and it seems surprisingly heavy. Starting to make me wonder if they are heavier for some reason???
Way heavier than before!

Rustys Off-road 👍🏻
looking good!
Thanks!
In your opinion what is the best motor for the Jeep the hemi the V6 the diesel are the turbo 4 cylinder
How’s the ride with the falcon shocks ?
Very planted ride, adjusted the settings a few times!
Felt that pain with the unpainted panels under the hinges
Ugh wait. What gears is this running??cause I’m getting 10mpg in my 392 on 37’s…😮
Should be fun if you have to change your tyre by yourself?! Good luck with that.
Sick!!
Why not the Motobilt carrier again???
Had to find a quick solution for this, once we hit phase 2 this jeep will be crazy, and with a lot of MotoBilt parts!
My 5 year old named my Gobi 2022 Jeep Wrangler “The Beach”. If I call it a “Jeep” he gets upset and corrects me 😂
how does all the mods you've done affect the factory warranty ?
The dealership/factory has to prove any mods you've made has voided the warranty. Which is hard to do .... From what I've heard
What moped is that?
You’re making me jelly because I get my 40s In a week UGH 😂
Didn’t know Teraflex could hold a 40.
You going to Jeep Beach?
Absolutely! You coming?
@@DIRTROADCRED I'm going to do my best to get down there!
Dealer has 4 392's on the lot now and wants to make a deal with me🤣
Do they have Anvil in stock?
DO IT
@@NorthWestAutos Just 2 White 1 Black 1 Earl.
Go for it. Now is the time
The paint quality…no wonder my 2019 JLU has the bubbling on the hinges. So disappointing
Too heavy for that tailgate. Too much tire imo.
I met you at school my names timmy
I remember you!
Those rear panels are the worst to take off if you dont know what your doing lol .
Like they say, JEEP= Just Empty Every Pocket😝
👍
It looks hilariously large on the back. I vote for spare delete
Have you heard if PA legislators passed the bill to go doorless with our jeeps?
Not yet. Hopefully soon!
You can’t be doorless in Pennsylvania?
You can with older Jeeps Tops we're Options.
Low key hilarious to put 40’s on that when you don’t even wheel like that.
It’s almost like it’s his and he can do what he wants 🤔
Good point also never mod a car to go fast because you’ll never go to the race track!
Maybe he should stop naming Jeeps when he hits Middle School. 🤣 The 40s do look good. Knowing what you know now, would you put some kind of coating on the unpainted parts, or are the covers enough?
What unpainted parts are you wondering about? Are you referring to the joker jeep ?
