$50 is a drop in the bucket compared to the money you have saved me by watching your videos! I have learned SOOOO much from you. Please keep up the good work, say thanks to your wife for me and give you puppy a hug.
You are killing me why you make it look so easy I'm cussing and struggling and three beers later finally got one side done, there are some helpful tips that you show that I wish I would have known before I did mine
I am new / novice to The Jeep Wrangler and the JL edition. Your videos have been incredibly helpful. Thank you very much for taking the time to make these very thorough videos and making it a little easier for us novice DIY guys. Keep up the great work.
What an undertaking. Great job. I have a feeling putting the video together took a lot more time than the install. Great video capturing all the different angles and capturing everything you're describing. Can't imagine editing process and putting all the clips together. Well done and great job to the one handling the camera.
EXCELLENT job man! Really well done. You broke down every little detail so that even a novice like me can follow it. I still won't, but you've inspired me. Lol, I'l just leave it to the pros.
Man, EVO really has their lifts made so well, you can always see just how well they've thought of everything. That trick with the duct tape and the wrench to hold the nut in place, that is awesome, I'm so using that in the future. Great video!
Great video. Thank you again for taking the time to share. It's awesome that 37" tires fit with room on such a conservative lift. I look forward to seeing how it rides and what your driving impressions are... You're making me want a JL more and more every day. I hope Jeep is giving you some support as I'm sure your videos have done more to showcase the capability of the jeep than all their ads combined.
What a difference 2.5" makes! (that's what she said!) That thing looks like a beat now. Great wheel choice, too. Also, great install video! A lot of times I find these boring to watch, or lacking information. Yours was just right, informative enough to get the whole scope of the job without feeling dragged out. Good tips on using the duct tape to hold the nut to the wrench, and turning the steering wheel to align the track bar. I've used both in the past when working on my old ZJ. Also, if tape isn't handy, grease will work, and even I've even used a piece of gum, haha. Only thing I would really do differently is put anti-seize on EVERY SINGLE BOLT that I removed/replaced. Maybe not so important where you live, but in New England where I am it could mean the difference between getting the bolt out trouble free next time, or breaking it. I use that stuff on EVERYTHING.
Dude, Jeep should create a "Custom Build Division" where they should hire you and put you in charge. Jeep Wrangler sales will triple in no time. Awesome man. Keep it up. Cheers! :)

Great video. That looks awesome! 37's with a moderate lift is what I had in mind. Looking forward to see how Jet Lee performs with this set up and what you may need to do with the fenders.
@2:18 that little tube of anti-sieze gave me a pretty good chuckle. Better to get an 8oz bottle with a brush. That tube is barely enough for the threads on one joint.
@@wayalifeI know what you mean. Love your videos btw. I'm curious how your KMC wheels and 37" tires are doing? I was looking at getting the same style wheels and have 35's at the moment but might step up to 37's in the future. I'm a little afraid of the offset being too small and the tires rubbing. They sell the XD232 but the 3.5" offset seems like it will make the tires stick out more than I might like. Brad from Trail Recon is using KMC's with that offset and they don't look too bad in his videos on his JK. Do you have any issues with rubbing? It seems the smaller back spacing is more common than the 4.75". Any comments are greatly appreciated!
@@supersportimpalass I installed these on a JL Rubicon and NOT a JK. That means my axles are 68" wide and that's a whole 2.5" wider than a JK. It is because of this that I purposefully went with these wheels as I WANTED more back spacing and knew I would NOT have rubbing issues. Heck, on a JK, factory wheels have 6.25" of back spacing and you can still clear most 37's with 4"-4.5" of back spacing. While less back spacing can help prevent rubbing with big tires, it WILL cause things like your ball joints and unit bearings to fail prematurely and will negatively affect your scrub radius. Not really that big of of a deal I suppose but I'm just trying to provide factual information rather than just tell you what wheels to get.
@@wayalife I did know they went on a JL but didn't realize the axles are that much wider than the JK. I should have researched that info but assumed they were the same. My current wheels are 17x9 with a 4.5 backspace so a 1/4 difference isn't going to make any difference with the same size tire but definitely will if I go up to 37's. Thanks again for the great info and videos!
The best part about putting in a new lift is finding out you cant back out of the garage because your to tall lol. Happened to me on a 4.5" lift. I had to air down and roll out with flat tires.
Awesome content. It looked as though some areas may be better to place the Zerc fittings down. New subscriber here. I'm itching for a jeep and still a die hard Toyota fan. Builds like this might make me pull the trigger on at least a jk. Keep up the awesome vids.
LOL!! Well sure, it'd make it easier to grease but it'd also make it easier for rocks to knock them right off too. The ONLY zerk that's near impossible to get to point up is the front lower arm at the axle mount and there are ways to deal with that. ALL the others can be reached.

I love your videos. If you ever get bored one day can you do a video on your cj3b? I’d love to see that up close . I’m in the process of rebuilding mine. Keep up the great work.
Wow...it's beautiful!!! Jet Li is one bad ass looking JL now! The JL is really growing on me even if a Rubicon isn't in the budget...Seems like the new JL Sport and Sahara are a bit more beefy than the JK.
Just installed my Aev lift. After installing the lift, and 37s did you experience more drift in the steering as in having to always micro adjust to keep it straight. I had mine aligned, to factory specs… However after driving for a little while. They mentioned to me that I may have to be a little bit more towed in to stop that. I upgraded to synergy front and rear track bars to get everything lined up but was trying to avoid changing everything for a daily driver with only some beach driving
More toe is NOT what you want and will only lead to more tire wear. If you're kit didn't come with control arm drop brackets, I would install a set OR better yet, install a set of adjustable lower control arms so that you can add in more caster. The lack of it is what is causing your flightiness and adding more will help correct it. Also, an alignment shop can only adjust components that are adjustable. And, unless you installed them, the most they can do is charge you to recenter your steering wheel.
Pretty straightforward install... looks like the JL is almost exactly the same as the JK except for a few minor nuances..... it wouldn't have hurt to have dabbed a little paint on those freshly drilled holes though.
Excellent video, very well documented. Eddie an you please give us another overall height measurement now that the 37’s and 2.5” lift is on please. Want to see if this setup will fit in my garage. Thanks.
I had just noted, to the top of the windshield, we measure about 75". To the highest point on the hard top, more like 77". A soft top would have a higher point.
Having sold my dedicated rockcrawler and bought a Jlur for more on road adventures, this seems prefect for us.Thanks for the video.I can't seem to find the shock extensions. also looks like a gain if you cut off and skidded bottom of old rear shock mounts.
As always, excellent video!! Passenger side upper control arm flag nut could possibly be easier to align, if you mark it with a sharpie before removing to get the alignment just right. Maybe...
@@wayalife what size tires do you have on this vehicle?.....I'm looking into buying a jeep and I'm leaning toward 35's with the 2"5 lift what do you think?
It’s all in the hands of the master. And you my friend, are a master at four wheeling! P.S. I’ve always thought you sound like Warren Miller. I think that’s another reason why I love your videos. Haha keep them coming bro!
since u didn't put on 40s and a taller lift... what trails are u going to avoid ? or "bypass" ?... Iv'e watched your videos for many years and you, your wife and Mel Wade have been inspirational in my life of wheeling... btw the quality in your filming is top notch ! :)
Thank you. It's hard to say what trails we can or can't do yet being that we've just recently installed this lift. Guess we'll just have to find out :)
Wayalife when I saw you had purchased a JL my first thought was please lift it and do a comparison with the JKs. I look forward to when you put out the comparison video... Make sure Moby gets in on the action too!!!
Technically, you should set them to stock as your axles will cycle in an arc and at a full bump, they will still be where they should be. You set your lower arms a bit longer to help restore your wheel base at ride height but at a full bump, they will be off. This is why you just want to make a slight adjustment and EVO provides lengths they recommend you start with in their instructions.
JL looks nice lifted. would take me forever to installed it. Plus I suck at putting stuff together. I’ll be missing a lot of pieces. If I hand a Jeep, I would pay you to help me install it. That way I can learn.
spend a couple a bucks and get more than a sample tube of antiseze, and I think I would also use some red and blue thread locker. Evencually I would get propper length shocks and springs. What size were the tires 37's ??? Anyway nice job.
Great instruction, great video quality. May I ask why you opted for spacers instead of new springs, brake lines, and shocks? I would love see a 2dr with 3.5" and BP51 bypass shocks.
To the best of my knowledge, there are no coils available at this time. Likewise, there are no shocks that I know of that have been valved for this JL. Brake lines aren't needed with this setup.
Great video and I'm excited to see where y'all are taking the build! What coils and shocks are you planning on running in the future after the spacers?
Love all your contents. Very informative videos ! Love the stance of rubicon I have a cheap 2021 Sahara trim. Not planning to hardcore off-road or anything. Looking at rubicon take off. Would it give some lift with rubicon springs, shocks and wheels? Thanks
I’m sure you have watch the new JL being built at the factory and all. My question is when they deck the body to the completed chassis, it now has most of its weight installed. Do you think they do a final torque on the track bar bushings and control arms, and if they don’t maybe that’s a failure new owners are having with maybe death wobble and other erratic suspension problems. Should the dealer loosen up all those components and re torque to factory specifications
You’ve given the most detailed install on the JL and given great impressions on the vehicle before the lift. I’m probably jumping the gun but what are your thoughts on road/offroad with the lift, 37” tires and beadlocks? Also do you feel a need to regear? I see no one has advanced that idea as yet and do you think there will be a need to replace driveshafts ball joints etc. ? Thanx
I appreciate it. Regarding our new 37's, they are load range E and are firmer than the factory tires which were load range C. I really want to run them at a lower psi to soften things up but that causes the TPMS warning light to come on. Off road, these Cooper STT Pros hook up amazingly well especially on the rocks. So far, I have not felt a need to regear and this after driving out to Moab and wheeling there. As far as drive shafts and ball joints go, I think it's too soon to say when that will be needed.
It would be great if you could give us a loose estimate of how long some of your work would take a regular Jeeper who has basic tools (i.e. No hydraulic lift or air tools). The manufacturer's install guides typically seem to be overly optimistic. I love the vids and guides. You're a life saver! However, most of us are are trying to time mod installations around work schedules and our babies are pulling dual duties (commute/fun). I realize this isn't everyone, but it is the painful truth for many. Thanks again! I'm hoping to make a JLU the 4th Jeep model I've owned. I started with an '02 KJ I lifted & locked and that looked like a sled underneath with skids from front to rear, then a 97 TJ lifted, locked front/rear with an LCG Teraflex lift, 37's and a ton of other items that cost a ton of money that probably should have been put towards retirement. Currently, I ride around in a mostly stock 07 JK that I feel is neglected, but I also sort of secretly hate. The hate is most likely unwarranted since I haven't spent much time in the mountains with it.
LOL!! This is a Rubicon and it comes with an electronic sway bar disconnect. Manual disconnects are not needed. I would never disconnect the rears. 37 is on the tailgate now. :)

Every auto technician has friends like you believe me.
@@wayalife what size tires do you have on this vehicle?.....I'm looking into buying a jeep and I'm leaning toward 35's with the 2"5 lift what do you think?
@@arkhamsquadgaming6192 You're looking at 37x13.50 Cooper STT Pros
Nice Eddie! Will you show a video of adjusting headlights after your lift?
When I get a chance, I will be sure to work on this.
Looks great! Now your ready for anything!
LOL! I don't know about "anything" but definitely ready for a lot :)
It’s all in the hands of the master. And you my friend, are a master at four wheeling!
P.S. I’ve always thought you sound like Warren Miller. I think that’s another reason why I love your videos. Haha keep them coming bro!
Thank you for that, I really appreciate it - I'm a HUGE fan of Warren Miller.
since u didn't put on 40s and a taller lift... what trails are u going to avoid ? or "bypass" ?...
It's nice working on a new Jeep, great video
LOL - yes, it really is.
I'd like to see a video of the JL next to the Rubicat, and then a comparison offroad between the 2...
When we get back from Moab, we'll try to do something like that.
Wayalife when I saw you had purchased a JL my first thought was please lift it and do a comparison with the JKs. I look forward to when you put out the comparison video... Make sure Moby gets in on the action too!!!
Excellent video love the wheel package
Thank you :)
Very nice video but how do you know where to adjust the adjustable lower control arms too ?
Technically, you should set them to stock as your axles will cycle in an arc and at a full bump, they will still be where they should be. You set your lower arms a bit longer to help restore your wheel base at ride height but at a full bump, they will be off. This is why you just want to make a slight adjustment and EVO provides lengths they recommend you start with in their instructions.
Thanks for the walk-through. Tell your CC writer the Jeep is not a Jael or a Jail - it's a JL.
LOL!! Tell that to TH-cam.
Great Vid. Can not wait till they arrive downunder...steve
Hope that you guys get them sooner than later.
watched the whole thing JL looks awesome great video!!!
Thanks, we're glad to hear it :)
JL looks nice lifted. would take me forever to installed it. Plus I suck at putting stuff together. I’ll be missing a lot of pieces. If I hand a Jeep, I would pay you to help me install it. That way I can learn.
LOL!! This video and my write-up should help you to do it right. :)
Nice build Eddie.....!
Thank you :)
spend a couple a bucks and get more than a sample tube of antiseze, and I think I would also use some red and blue thread locker.
Amazingly good and useful report.
Glad to hear you found it as such :)
Great video and I'm excited to see where y'all are taking the build! What coils and shocks are you planning on running in the future after the spacers?
Not sure, have to see what's available.
excelente tu vídeo, cual kit me recomiendas para mi XK, Jeep commander 4.7l 4x4 limited, que modelo sería, tambien quiero llantas 35", muchas gracias.
I have a silver rubicon waiting for me but this white is making me second guess myself haha
LOL - Silver is a great color too :)
Love all your contents. Very informative videos !
Love the stance of rubicon I have a cheap 2021 Sahara trim. Not planning to hardcore off-road or anything. Looking at rubicon take off. Would it give some lift with rubicon springs, shocks and wheels? Thanks
If you have a 2-door and you install 4-door Rubicon take offs, it will. A bit anyway.
Great video keep up the good work brother
Thank you :)
You actually torque your lugs with a proper torque wrench... I like you.
LOL!! Shouldn't everyone? :)
This was excellent ! you're a master mechanic, thank you ! :)
LOL!! Just a guy who can turn a wrench or two :)
A lift like this can be installed in a day.
ITS ALWAY GOOD TO HAVE A GOOD LAWYER, BONDMAN AND A MECHANIC.
Replace 5th wheel and tire
Great video Eddie as usual
Thanks, we're glad you liked it :)
Another Great video. Thank you for sharing!
So glad you enjoyed it :)
Great video! Why not go ahead and install quick disconnect sway bar links? At least up front? Also when is the 37" spare going on the back?
LOL!! This is a Rubicon and it comes with an electronic sway bar disconnect. Manual disconnects are not needed. I would never disconnect the rears. 37 is on the tailgate now. :)
Dammit. I forget things. :-)
