Appreciate the follow up video on GAAIV, I’ve chosen him as my first ever commander. Taxing and control is a play style that appeals to me. How have you been getting on with this version? Any cuts and standouts? Thanks 👍🏼
Happy to oblige. So far it's done as expected. Consultant and a pain in peoples buts. Ot does tend to lengthen games quite a bit and unless I get a win con to stick for more than 2 turns, I end up being ganged up on horrible. It holds its own 3v1 for a little while, but ultimately you just run out of defenses more often than not. It's a really fun deck to play if you enjoy the challenge which I personallydo.
@@BluebearsGames Glad to hear, I don’t understand why people hate on it. It’s part of the game, no different than toxic decks that can achieve 10 counters in no time. How would this deck perform against mill? There’s a guy at my LGS with a Bruvac deck that seems to be the one to beat…
Hmm. I've not faced a commander mill deck ever actually. I assume it would be the same as when I fac 60 card mill decks and you play more removal for bruvac and the hope is that the stax pieces will make it cost a lot to cast any mill cards. Hopefully countermagic takes care of anything gets through. Sadly youre notlt in green so you cant just throw a random gaeas blessing in.
23:35 teferi who slows the sunset doesnt work with stasis, because even though you untap during your opponents untap steps, stasis makes them skip that step, so you wont untap either
Well it's a good thing I don't have it in there then huh lol. I guess not actually having them next to each other, I didn't see the interaction wouldn't have worked. Good catch.
If you want smothering Tithe to work properly you really should include stasis because after a while when stasis is out nobody gets to untap anything effectively guaranteeing you a treasure token because nobody can pay. I'm also surprised you didn't include the classics like winter orb, static orb, Sphere of Resistance and authority of the consuls
There are actually reasons I didn't include the orbs and sphere. The first is because I already have a deck that uses them for lovkdown reasons and I wanted a slightly different feel for the 2 decks. The second reason is I felt that the way I put this together would be more "fair" since there's actually a chance to get out of the control locks. If for some reason this deck doesn't perform how I want it to, then stasis with tithe is the next evolution, but I didn't want to slow games down to a standstill. Not yet anyway. So far this had performed as expected for what I was going for. I even got shiny new fallout version to use if I decided to go that route.
@@lordwolve 🤣🤣🤣 on this one I kinda did tge work already and made a video for it. Lol you should watch my updated talrand personal deck deck video. That will have the suggested cards you'd want to swap in.

@@YOUMADSTAYMAD I have not dismantled it, nor have I made any changes to it yet. I've pulled som stuff aside to look at for possible changes, bit I haven't played with it since I've pulled them aside. I don't like to pull this out very often as it's no as much fun for others to play against.
The reason the 2 color discounts are written separately is because white spells are discounted by 1 blue spells are discounted by 1 and blue AND whote spells are discounted by 2
I get that, but from what I understand, there is a way to combine that into 1 sentence and still work ad intended. That way would also explain that it can reduce both colors on one spell for a reduction of 2 which is a question that's asked a lot.

Not exactly a take, more like past experience. I've just not really had much luck with it in other builds actually netting me much. @@Ginkrepeerc_ that's what I hear all the time, but I haven't had much luck with it. I went to my last commander night and I got infinite combod. I’m going to stax the shit out of people. Any thoughts to cards like thorn of amethyst and sphere of resistance ?
The question I have for you is, was tge infinite combo that got you, an infinite mana combo? If so, then adding stuff that makes things cost more to cast a little less effective. With that being said, I myself personally like those types of cards in more competitive formats to slow the game down enough to hopefully take control, but honestly, I've only ever used them in 60 card formats and not tried them in commander.
