I play football at the NAIA level and we do the exact same system. Three days a week is not to bad especially if you do it early so your muscles have a little time to recover before practice.
Thanks to your vids and exercises I have learned how to more successfully keep my strength and even increase my power output while competing in season.
Effort in practice should take care of conditioning depending on the level of intensity coach has it. Every drill in practice should be "let me compete and kill this" instead of "let me get through this". It's a mindset of elites
You should see how much strength and conditioning is neglected here in Australia. On most levels that aren't elite there really is little to no emphasis on S&C. Most don't even know what it is. Thankfully Woodfords SSC is trying to change that.
i was wondering the same thing! thanks. I'd be doing intense on court practise and feel like i already hit all my fast twitch stimulus that i never felt i needed or could have done effectively, a plyo session
overtimeathletes and if you also want to improve vertical jump? should plyos still be removed? Should they be replaced by RFD or strength focused training? Thanks a lot in advance!
any reply to this? I do plyo+weights on monday, Bball practice on Thursday and Game on Saturday and wonder if it's Ok. I've been a little less explosive than after my off season peak
Sofien IKHLEF if you're body gets the regeneration he needs it's ok but for example many football players had a few times per week practice on field + game + training in the gym, the volume is on that point maybe to high for many people to get their full energy for the Gameday back :)
Hello, at the end of each summer, I have 3 weeks that we have 8 hours of basketball practice Monday to Friday, each year my muscles are tired the first week or two but get better the third week. Is there any way to that next summer I won't get this (Ik that if I where to continue the same training as now I wouldn't get that problem but obviously I cannot train 8 hours a week)
I'm in middle school and we only weightlift in track and at the very end of wrestling. The high school gets to weight lift for every sport as far I know
So, I wanted to do The Flight System during the in-season ? Is it a bad idea ? (I have 3 basketball practice per week and 1 game on sunday) Thanks for your videos man
Hey Chris I am a soccer player and I’m in season. I want to mantain my muscle mass while trying to avoid being too sore. Can I mantain it by only doing 3 sets of 5 per exercise 2/3 times a week? Or should I do it in 8-12 rep range? (I’m 5’11 tall and my weight is 83 kg, I have enough mass)

Thank God for this video.
What about explosiveness? How much of the training should be things like Jumps, Cleans and changes of direction?
Chris do you suggest doing the same workout every time (total body) or for example a 2-day split: day 1 squat & bench, day 2 deadlift & OHP ?
What if you box all year round

What about maintaining endurance/conditioning during season?

+overtimeathletes thanks for taking time to reply
Great vid helped out a lot

Same here over in the UK mate it sucks! People don't realize how much it can improve your sport!
same stuff until today here in brazil, in general here, athletes do bodybuilding stuff 24/7 and thats it
Would you do plyometric workouts during the season?
Nah. You'll get most of your plyometric stimulus from your actual practices and games.

Love the vid!! Could you make a video on how to lose weight for sports? My coach wants me to gain muscle and lose fat over this off season. Thanks!
Awesome video. Is it okay to use the same workouts from your Flight System program? Or should I love the intensity percentage wise?
Yeah, because those workouts aren't high in volume

Great video. One question- Would you focus on uni-lateral lifts in the off-season or in season? Or would it be a mini-cycle within the in-season

make some video on cricket fast bowlers workout.

Yea I would hold off on doing TFS in season.
What do you qualify as low volume?

Does this go for basketball too? And if not can you make a video like this for basketball season?
It applies to all sports.
For a sprinter is good to do polyometrics? And its good to make the perfect workouts form after after doing the workout ?
I'm a sprinter and we train plyos with strength
Conner Broeker aha thanks
Is there a time Preference? Like should we weight train before or after practice sessions?
If you can split the day that would be best or right after practice
When you live in Australia, and the season is nearly over :(((((
