Even though I have been doing pop outs for quite awhile there is something new to try or relearn in many of your videos.
FREE tip: Adding adjustment layers as a child layer >> Assistant >develop assistant (bottom) >click "add filter as a child layer" ;) . Yes; it's a game changer IMO .

Always love how you take it just that bit further with things. The ‘Pop Out’ effect may be obvious to us seasoned users, but going further with the ‘glass reflecting’ effect is top notch...as your videos always show that extra step to make images really next level considerations! Kudos!

Great tutorial, I have to use photoshop daily but sometimes just ‘risk it’ and go affinity photo to see where it gets me or where I stumble a bit, naturally I get farther every testing session and these tutorials do help a lot.
Question, if time permits: I tend to use a lot “fill” selections (alt backspace for foreground color fill or cmd backspace for background color fill) yet can’t find the right name in affinity, there’s shift f5 pop-up fill tool that have all the options though, so close enough just a couple too many clicks, would work great when filling the shadows selection for example. Also, is there a ‘clipping layer’ equivalent? it’s option+cmd+g on photoshop and basically a base layer opacity clips all layers added on top of it in that mode, it’s great for having a working base (say, the picture frames) and start adding normal layers that always mask inside of them, it’s like masking but a bit more modular since layers can be overlaid on top with any blending mode and color contents yet it will mask itself to the bottom most layer.
EDIT: ok, the clipping layer thing, it seems it’s just like the mask one but just dragging a pixel layer inside another, the ‘parent’ layer alpha will mask the children. I got deja vu, I might have had this question before, found the answer and forgot it again. Definitely gotta use Photo a bit more.

You can fill with the primary or secondary color from the Edit Menu at the top. And if you want, you can make a shortcut for those commands (watch this video at 3:15 to learn about keyboard shortcuts th-cam.com/video/nOMOFYHfs44/w-d-xo.html). You might need to make them different shortcuts than what PS uses though (I've heard of some people trying to use the PS shortcuts, and those particular shortcut keys not working properly).
As for clipping masks, Affinity uses Child Layers. This video explains in great depth: th-cam.com/video/CBl20YGZRTk/w-d-xo.html

    G'day Ally
    Another brilliant tutorial.
I, myself would do this production a little different to your method.
An example, I would first put the pop out image over the frame and them mask out the outer edge around the frame, which would include the black frame.
Then the shadow layer can be duplicate from the pop out and a black fill over the whole image. This shadow layer be placed under the frame as a overlay selection. Selecting the whole frame, by either the pen tool or the wand tool, and then delete the shadow of the pop out from the frame area.
I would then use your method to do the reflection, but you mentioned at the beginning that you have already prepared the other two images, so I would use the previous frames selections of all the frames as a mask for the reflection.
Anyhow, it's a personal choice in the method we use.
I feel, my method would be quicker and easier.
